I was intrigued from the start. I mean a recently divorced couple with new partners buying houses next door to each other, what could go wrong?! When things slowly starts to go downhill the suspense starts to heat up. There are plenty of twists and turns to keep you guessing. This is my first book by Rona Halsall but will definitely not be my last.

It was meant to be the perfect break-up…
Just because it’s over between us, doesn’t mean we can’t be friends. My ex-husband and I still care for each other a lot, and we are determined to put our sweet little boy, Toby first. Now we’ve moved into houses right next door to each other, with each of our new partners and their children. We’ve even knocked down the garden fence, so Toby can easily run between our homes.
But it seems not everyone is happy about this big, blended stepfamily. I try to ignore the viciously-worded note in the ‘new home’ card, the red pen scrawled through my divorce paperwork, and the day I find myself locked into my house, all the keys suddenly missing… But I can’t pretend it’s all in my head when a false accusation is made against me that could destroy my life – and Toby’s – forever.
I loved it.
Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for giving me an advance copy.

I love to read. I have been reading since before I could walk.

My mother loves to tell the story on how she brought me to Disney at 4 years old and told me I could have ANYTHING I wanted in the gift store and I insisted the only thing I wanted was the phone book in our hotel room.

It never mattered if it were a telephone book, a hotel bible, or a travel guide. If it had words on the page, I had to have it.

Thankfully, The Wife Next Door, was a lot more satisfying than reading a phone book

Once I started reading it became a compulsion to flip the pages. I was so invested in what was going on, I lost track of any form of reality. To say my jaw was on the floor would be the understatement of the year. There were so many different suspects that it became impossible to try and guess what was going on.

This story was absolutely twisted!

Hands down, this is one of the best psychological thrillers I have read in a long time.

Rona Halsall, you are brilliant. I can not wait to see what you come out with next.

Someone doesn’t like what’s happening under these two neighbouring roofs.

What they don’t know is that they’re messing with the wrong person. And that hell hath no fury like the wife next door…

This is my first read by this author. I found the story premise intriguing- a divorced couple who want to coparent their son and get along so well they buy houses next door to each other? What could go wrong?

Turns out, a lot. And not just within the story. I found the writing to be mediocre at best. The main character, Jess, is portrayed as weak and dependent. Now I get that she is being gaslit through much of the story, but when things are happening that she clearly knows are happening, she never even attempts to find out what is going on.

I found the twist to be fairly predictable and even the final epulogue to be completely unbelievable. Honestly it took me longer to get through this book than it should have just because I never felt really invested in the story or cared what happened to the characters.

I received an advanced reader copy from NetGalley and am giving my honest review.

When 2 exes move in next door with their new partners, there is huge potential for strife, jealousy and paranoia. Events happen that seem to be heading for disaster and you begin to wonder how bad things can get and what is really happening. Who is causing all the turmoil, who is telling the truth and what else can possibly happen to make their lives worse. A real page turner

Thank you NetGalley and the pubs for this early review.

WOW WOW WOW! This one was good! The book was a slow burn but it was worth it as the book gave a lot of backstory that made so much sense after the big plot twist! I usually am pretty good at guessing the endings but this one definitely through me for a loop! Will be recommending this one! Solid 4.5 stars!

My first from this author but definitely not my last!

Jess and Rob’s marriage was floundering and so they decided to have an amicable split. They both have new partners and seem to all get on well together. They decide to buy a pair of semi detached houses so that Toby, their son, can spend time more time with his Dad, new partner Carol and her younger son Mo. Ryan lives with his Mum and her new partner Ben and his older daughter Jess. The move is supposed to create the perfect blended family but someone appears to have other ideas. Weird things start to happen to Jess as her favourite mugs are smashed and her house keys disappear and she soon realises that someone is out to get her and tear the new family apart. But who? The book contains plenty of twists and turns while you try to work out who the guilty person is. An enjoyable read.
Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.

If I were you, I would take a deep breath before you start this book, if not you might find yourself breathless at the terrifying pace that the story unfolds. Very gripping, if a trifle unrealistic that so much could happen to one person in such a short time. Enjoyable reading nonetheless.

Great writing and interesting characters made this a quick read. The pacing was quite good though it seemed to end abruptly.

Jess, our narrator, makes some puzzling choices/reactions. I wanted her to make smarter decisions. The twists came fast and furious and they were out there. The final reveal was good. This was enjoyable, would recommend.

Thanks to NetGalley, the author and Bookouture for a copy in exchange for a review.

Thank you to NetGalley, the publishers, and Rona Halsall for allowing me to read and review this book.

This book is well written and insanely fast paced. I thoroughly enjoyed it. At times I did have to put it down because it’s hard to read and not get frustrated along with the main character.

I would recommend this book for anyone wanting a fast paced thriller that keeps you guessing and questioning everything until the very end.

The Wife Next Door is a book full of twists and turns that will keep you turning the pages until you’ve found out what’s been going on.
Jess and Rob have split up and to keep things good for their young son they buy 2 houses next door to each other and whilst that seems strange factor in they are moving in these houses with their new partners makes for an interesting read. Jess is full of hope when she moves in with Ben but things go down hill quickly from her dream life she thought she’d have. Carol, Robs new partner has seemed to monopolised her son and Jess doesn’t see him as much as she thought as Carol takes him on days out with her young son. Add to that strange things happening in her house and things going missing something is wrong but who is doing it and why?
This was a different read that I enjoyed from start to finish, it had me pointing the finger many a time at the wrong person, the characters were all likeable so that made the read easier and the pace was good all the way through with no let up, the ending was neat and left me with no unanswered questions.
I would like to thank Netgalley and Bookouture for this ARC I received in exchange for an honest review.
