The Wife Next Door has all the ingredients for chaos and disaster, yet somehow, with the twists, secrets and lies coming from all directions, trying to guess who is unhappy with the blended families living arrangements is like trying to choose between your two favourite desserts! Damn near impossible!
However, Rona has cleverly masterminded this brilliantly.

Wow! You're divorced, the last thing you'd ever want is to be living right next door to your ex. And yet, that's exactly what happens in this crazy, topsy turvy thriller. I despised !most of the characters which really ramped up the tension and drama for me. This was so unique and very well written.

Living next door to your ex and his new wife - what could possible go wrong?? Read this thriller by Rona Halsall and find out - great story from beginning to end!

I had enjoyed Rona Halsall's book, 'The Ex-Boyfriend' so couldn't wait for this.
The plot of The Wife Next Door screams 'recipe for disaster!'
I'm sorry, on what planet does a divorced couple think it's a good idea to move into houses next door to each other?! Halsall does a solid job of explaining why the family does it, but I just don't get it.
That said, once I let go of that issue, I was invested and was swept along with the plot happily. It is fast paced, with creepy and chilling vibes throughout.
Aside from my issue with the main premise, the characters are mostly likeable and I rooted for them.
The main selling point for this book has to be that ending though. I have come to expect shockers from this author after reading this, it is clever!
An enjoyable read.

Jess and her husband Rob are divorcing amicably. They decide to buy houses next door to each other with their new significant others to be close for their son Toby. Everything seems great, until it isn’t. The first day in their new home Jess received a threatening card in the mail. And from there, things start to spiral! Jess is confused, suspicious and paranoid. Who can she trust? Is it someone in her home doing these things or someone next door? I was CONVINCED I knew what was happening as I’m a pretty seasoned reader. But this book surprised me in such a great way. I was flying through to find out just what was going on. Well written and well paced! Definitely recommend.

Picture this: You're recently divorced, you now live right next door to your ex-husband and his new wife, and you're giving this whole blended stepfamily thing a try. What could go wrong, right?

Turns out, A LOT could go wrong! In Rona Halsall's The Wife Next Door, what starts as an ideal setup turns scary when a note appears, keys go missing, and a false accusation is brought into the mix.

I guess some things are just too good to be true...

- Okay, I LOVED this one! Talk about an unpredictable thriller that you just can't put down!! It had so many twists and turns, I really did not know what was going to happen next. I will definitely be picking up a physical copy of this one - and reading more from Halsall!

Thank you NetGalley, Bookouture, and the author for this ARC in exchange for my honest review!

I was on tenterhooks as I read this book.
A divorced couple, each with a new partner, move in next door. It’s the perfect solution.
But things begin spiraling downward for Jess. Tension, fighting, suspicion, and accusations abound.
I thought Jess was gullible. I had my suspicions about who was behind all the incidents, but I was wrong. When I figured it out, I kicked myself because it was obvious.
It’s a suspenseful read.

Rona Halsall is an author I have previously enjoyed so I was looking forward to reading The Wife Next Door. I have to say I wasn’t disappointed. It is a taut and absorbing psychological thriller. Jess and Rob have divorced. An amicable split. Both now have new partners and Jess’s decision to move to a property next door to her ex does not seem to present problems. But if that’s what Jess thinks, it’s clear someone else feels entirely different. One of the New Home cards she receives contains entirely different sentiments. Who has sent this and why?
Twists and turns all the way in this absorbing story. Great characters, some you like, some you dislike. All of human nature is here and some of it not exactly pleasant. The ending left me saying ‘well I didn’t see that coming.’
A roller coaster of a read and well deserving of four big stars.
My thanks to NetGalley, Bookouture and Rona Halsall for an ARC of The Wife Next Door in exchange for an honest review.

What can go wrong? Jess and Rob were married with a son, Toby. A mutual, calm divorce and to make it easy on everyone, especially Toby, they buy a set of duplexes. It’s perfect. Jess, her fiancé, and his daughter live in one side. Rob, his new wife, and her son live in one side. Toby can go back and forth as he pleases. One big happy family. Simple. Easy. Until it’s not.

I will be honest and say that The Wife Next Door started out a bit slow for me, but holy heck, once the first threatening note is found, I couldn’t put it down! I wasn’t sure who was telling the truth and who was making things up. At one point, I thought I might be the one imagining things.

I love the “typical” wife next door vibe of domestic thrillers, I mean, it’s in the title. However, this is not your typical wife story. The Wife Next Door will take you on a domestic thriller journey unlike anything you have read!

4 stars!

What an interesting way to "blend" families! A divorcing couple decide to buy two homes - side by side - where they move to blend their families and be available for their children. What could possibly go wrong? As it turns out, not everyone is happy with this arrangement and the protagonist keeps getting nasty surprises. Rona Halsall does not disappoint with her latest!

Many thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for this ARC!

I enjoyed the author's writing style. The plot was definitely unique. The characters weren't exactly likable and made you question them. However, I figured out in the first couple chapters where things were heading. In this case it did affect my enjoyment of the story. Overall it's a good read.

Ooooh this book was sneaky! I loved it! Rona's books are just getting better and better.

The story begins with Jess separating from her husband Rob after many years together. Both have new partners, Ben and Carol, respectively and each have a child, Toby and Mo, along with Ben's teenager daughter, Ruby. As their separation has been amicable, for the sake of the children, Jess and Rob decide to live next door to each other with their respective children and new partners. At first this seems ideal, but then little things begin to happen, nasty notes, smashed mugs, missing keys. Jess starts feeling increasingly uneasy, but she has no idea of the shocking events that are to come.

I read this in a day and couldn't put it down. I loved Rona's writing, it really helped set the scene for me. I always love an unreliable narrator and after a while, I really did start to doubt Jess' side of things and wonder if she was suffering from some kind of mental breakdown, such is the cleverness of the writing. After a while I began to suspect everyone! And, although I did guess "whodunit" towards the end, this didn't take away from my thorough enjoyment of the story.

Highly recommended if you like creepy, twisty psychological thrillers.

What would it be like to move with your new significant other next door to your ex and his new lady?

Holy plot twists! This book started off slow and took awhile to lay the groundwork but once it picked up it got better. Just when I thought I knew where it was going the book shifted and I was shook. If you’re looking for an unpredictable thriller this is it!

What would happen if you lived next door to your ex and there new partner!

I found this story to be one we could probably all relate to at some point in life or at-least wonder what if.
Jess and her ex Rob have split up and are both with different partners now, but remain best of friends and decide its in there children’s best interest to all live together next door to each other as one big happy family…… but how long for?
With twists through out the book it kept me gripped like a game of guess who and even i didn’t see who was the culprit was going to be.
I really enjoyed this read it kept me guessing right up till the end and gives you an insight to what life would be like living next door to your ex ha ha
Thank you to the publisher for giving me the chance to read this and to the author Rona Halsall a well written and entertaining book well done.

Jess and Rob are divorcing but want to make things as easy as possible for their son Toby. They decide to purchase houses next to each other and live as one big family with their new partners and children.

Jess tells the story of strange things happening as soon as they move in to their new house. She questions the arrangement and her ex’s new partner. I liked how this story flowed from chapter to chapter. Some chapters picked up a sentence later than the previous one. This book is a quick read because you won’t want to put it down. So many questions and twists up until the thrilling end!

I loved The Wife Next Door. The premise of a divorced couple living next door with their new partners is a hot mess. I cringed so much. This book is everyone versus Jess, which makes you loathe many characters and cheer for one. Some of these characters made me so mad that I wanted to throw my kindle, but that's the point, and it kept me turning the page. Thanks for the advance review copy.

Jess and Rob, soon to be exes remain friends and get along well. In the interest of their son, they decide to move in next door to each other, each with their new partner.

While I believe divorce can be amicable, and doing what's best for the kids is always most important, this did not seem like a good idea to me!

At first everything seems wonderful. They all get along and Toby is thrilled to be able to see both his mother and his father whenever she wants.

But then things start to go wrong for Jess. Small things at first. A note. A broken cup. Everyone seems to think she is stressed and over reacting. And when things really go wrong, it's almost like she is the girl who cried wolf. She even doubts herself at times.

This author had me suspecting everyone. I mean EVERYONE. Even Jess' mom was on my radar.

Then you get to the twist and I was shocked! Very clearly written and kept me on the edge of my seat!
