This is a nice cookbook with some pluses and minuses. There are small color photos of all of the dishes and minimal nutritional information is given (calories, fat, protein, carbs -- but not fiber, sodium or net carbs). There are some novel things about it like it lists in the table of contents how tricky each recipe is. It focuses on the health benefits of Med diets while falling for the same thing most cookbooks that capitalize on the health benefits focus on, like it points out that one reason this style of eating is healthier is that they use far less meat and then much of the cookbook is meat. Uses gluten and animal products throughout so it will be less helpful for those on special diets. Recommended as a library read to see if it's a good fit for your kitchen.

I read a temporary digital ARC of this book for review.

Before I had even gotten to the recipes, I immediately fell in love with the table of contents. Not only does it list each recipe, but it lists the level of difficulty (from “super easy” through “more effort) AND the amount of time the recipe will take to prepare. This is exactly the up-front information that cooks want to know before they select what to cook on a given night.

The recipes come with beautiful color pictures and easy to follow instructions. One thing I was particularly happy to see was nutrition information, so that you immediately know the calories per serving. Recipes also come with helpful tips as well as notes at the end of the recipe that alert readers to the pressure points, if a recipe happens to have them, helping to ensure your meal comes out perfect. Some recipes even come with video tips which is one of the cooler things I've seen in a recipe book!

This is a great resource for anyone on the Mediterranean diet, anyone who wants to cook more Mediterranean dishes, or anyone who wants to eat more healthy.

There are many Mediterranean dishes shown in the book. I did not see any original recipes. And since when is salmon from the Mediterranean?!

Fall in Love With Mediterranean Cuisine by Bernetta Parris is a great cookbook for those beginning a more Mediterranean way of eating for health or pleasure. It contains a wide variety of traditional and newer recipes that fit into the Mediterranean WOE with simple, beautiful pictures and helpful, specific recipe directions. I love that it also included nutritional information for each recipe as well as additional helpful tips one might need.

I would have loved to have a bit of info on what specific area the recipes came from or were inspired by and I personally did not care for the font of the chapters and recipe names. The recipes were great basic Mediterranean food, nothing too outlandish or difficult.

Overall a great introduction into the Mediterranean way of eating.

Trying to get into cooking more Mediterranean diet foods so I decided to peruse this book. The pictures, layout of ingredients, steps, and tips have great flow. Love that it rates the ease of cooking each recipe so I can work my way up to more difficult dishes as I go. While I have not tried cooking these yet, I have a list of recipes I am excited to work my way through.

This is a collection of recipes but, for me, there's little that is new or exciting as far as experienced Mediterranean food lovers are concerned. I also fail to see why some of them are felt to be Mediterranean as opposed to anywhere else, eg pan-fried turkey lettuce wraps or battered haddock with pesto on a tortilla wrap. To be fair there are classics such as Ribollita soup and plenty of Greek style dishes. There is confusion in my mind as to whether we are concentrating upon Mediterranean type diet ie olive oil, fresh ingredients, lots fruit and vegetables or upon recipes from the Mediterranean area. However, there is a good range of meals from soups and snacks, fish, meat, some vegetarian, salads and the like. They all have the benefit of mainly start-from-scratch, and easily accessible, ingredients. Photographs are fine. Measurement are basically US with a conversion chart for metric at the end. A section at the end contains helpful tips about lengths of storage time, There are comments about ease or difficulty for the recipes, apparently, but kindle version downloaded to my ipad couldn't cope with the formatting, for example black box 4, black box 15 SUPER PERSON MINUTES EASY - and the recipe titles tended to come after the relevant lists of ingredients. The pdf version seemed fine on my PC (so, 4 person, 15 minutes cook, super easy - shucks, there was me thinking I might become a Super Person!) but hardly handy for the kitchen.. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an advance copy.

The kindle version of this preview did not allow me to experience the videos incorporated into the e-book, but the idea of it sounds intriguing in the cookbook concept. The recipes seem straight forward and are mostly appealing. This book is not plant-based/vegan friendly, but with a lot of creativity, the recipes could be a source of inspiration.

few of us will be immune to the message that the Mediterranean diet is both healthy and nutritious, and this is a book that really celebrates and embraces this. It is a real celebration of Mediterranean cuisine, and it certainly doesn't scrimp on the olive oil!

Before reviewing, I wanted to try one of the recipes, and the one that appealed to me most was ' Eggplant Rollatini with Ricotta & Basil Pesto', and I can testify it is 100% as delicious as it sounds!

The recipes usefully come with information relating to calories counts as well as macro breakdowns for each recipe.

The book will satisfy your savoury, rather than sweet, tooth, with sections: 'soups', 'fish and Seafood', 'Poultry and Meat', 'Vegetables and Beans', 'Pasta, rice, Grains and Pies' and 'Salads and Sauces'.

Overall I would recommend this book to all those who love their cuisine with a healthy does of olive oil!

My thanks to Netgalley, author and publisher for the opportunity to review this book in exchange for an advance copy.

These recipes are looking delicious. It helps though that there is a photo in every one, especially if you're like me that don't know how to cook properly! I loved that in every recipe had tips, and tricks, and nutrition facts. Although some recipes aren't correct (example the tradition greek lemon chicken soup is more watery. Or Tzatziki doesn't have mint, but basil. I am Greek after all!). Great add on that in the end of the book, it has a kitchen conversion chart. Overall great book.

Everyone knows that a Mediterranean diet is healthy. Fall in Love with Mediterranean Cuisine: The Ultimate Mediterranean Diet Cookbook with Pictures for Beginners and Gurus lets everyone know that a Mediterranean diet is also delicious. This cookbook includes delicious recipes that are easy to follow, as well as mostly easy to prepare. The ingredients called for are available at most larger grocery stores, so there is no reason to need to go to specialty stores to make the dishes. The cookbook includes beautiful photographs that make it difficult to know which dish to make first. The book also includes information on preparing and storing some foods, which is helpful.

One thing that is missing is vignettes or information from the author at the beginning of each recipe. While this isn’t a crime, and doesn’t make it a no-go cookbook, it would have been nice. It’s always a good thing to find out a little about how the author feels about the recipe or how it came about, etc., or helpful hints for those preparing the dish. While the recipes are excellent and turn out well, the book seems a bit impersonal. I still like this cookbook and will use it often, however, because there are dozens of excellent recipes that I want to make.

Special thanks to NetGalley for supplying a review copy of this book.

I feel like I took a trip to Greece. This is a packed full book and I enjoyed it so much.

Generous amount of recipes and the format was layered and interesting.

The photos weren't the most stunning I've seen in a cookbook but they did the job. It felt like a lot of stock photos.

I would like to thank NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review Fall in Love with Mediterranean Cuisine by Bernetta Parris.

Author has written a book with a fine example of traditional and contemporary recipes. Including the method with clear instructions and a gorgeous photo makes for a cookbook you will use and recommend to others. My review copy will get repeated use. Highly recommend to home cooks of any level as she lays out the instructions so concisely.

I love Mediterranean food and have been trying to make it the foundation of my everyday diet for a while. This cookbook is great option for anybody looking to incorporate the principles of Mediterranean cooking into their daily diet, using reasonable, accessible ingredients. Some are very simple, some are more complicated and this is clearly labelled in the contents page which is wonderful when scanning through. I've never used a digital format of a cookbook before but the images and layout work really well on my ereader. The dishes are linked on the contents page which is very cool, though I will say that the links are sometimes not very responsive. It's not really an issue though as you can just scroll the page number along to the recipe you want, and of course if you have a hard copy it's not an issue at all.

I've tried the chicken orzo dish and the Greek lemon soup. Both very simple but delicious and I appreciated that there were little tips about storing food as well as some information on the health benefits of the lifestyle which could be great info for a beginner.

I would definitely recommend this as a workhorse cookbook to help with inspiration for regular delicious meals that you can prepare and eat as part of your everyday life.
