Reading this collection — which included some essays I'd read before, some I remember skimming and some I missed somehow — it becomes so clear why Sophie Gilbert won the Pulitzer. She's such a talented writer with a gift for drawing connections between our culture and our politics. I saw she recently sold an original collection and I'm so excited to read it.
