Hello

Apologies for the late notice, but I have decided not to review this title.

While I am certain it's obvious by now, I wanted to also clear this off NetGalley, so it's not showing as open for either of us.

I look forward to continuing to work with you in 2023 and beyond.

After meeting the perfect man on her last day in San Francisco, Will promptly ghosted Arianna. A year later, he shows up in her hometown with as her best friend's brother. Even though she is still mad, she can't help the attraction she feels towards Will. Her family, though, has a problem with the 9 year age difference and the two must hide their relationship.
Opinion
This is a great start to a series. It is obvious how close the Donovan family is and obvious how that will cause problems with future match ups. I love that this book somewhat centered on Arianna's love of the game truth or dare. It gave the book a playful element to their relationship.
The age difference played out well but the biggest strife, having to hide their relationship, made this book so exciting to read.
This would be a great vacation read and is a promising start to a new series by Chase.
Many thanks to Net Galley and Valentine PR for providing me with an ARC of this book.

Dare Me is the first book in The Donovans series by Samantha Chase. It was a well-written small town, second-chance romance. I love small-town romances because they always have such warmth and leave you with the feel goods, and this book certainly checked all the boxes.
Adrianna and Will spent one night together but Adrianna thought they would have more. But Will disappears only to appear a year later at her family’s house with her brother. Adrianna wants to forget about that night, but Will has other ideas. But can he convince her to give him another chance?

This perfect second-chance romance will leave you with all the feel goods and wanting more. I look forward to the next book in the series.

I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

They see each other next day when they get on a plane headed to Atlanta, where they will be taking another plane to their separate destinations. But one the plane to Atlanta they are talking and Will realizes he knows her brother. They make a pact to text each other. Fort one year Will comes home with Arianna’s brother to start up a company. Arianna and Will fall in love.

Adrianna meets Will, they have one night to be together before he is gone . Ari never heard from Will again . Moving on she doesn’t expect Will to come back into her life especially with her brother . Will feels her overprotective brother will never understand or accept their relationship. This is the first book in a new series, and I can’t wait for book 2

It’s been a while since I read any Samantha Chase books it’s a lovely sweet story with some steam and really makes you interested in the rest of the family

In the beginning, I got impatient with this story. I wanted someone to take Ariana by the hand and give her the “Listen. It’s time to grow up” talk. And a man who stays away for an entire YEAR because of this stupid reason doesn’t deserve Ariana. I know many people love this family and these characters, so maybe I was just just in a mood, but come on. It’s 2022.

FORTUNATELY, the plot improved. It improved enough that I ended up liking the latter half, and liking our characters. Because of this, I give the book 4 stars.

Dare Me is the first book in The Donovans series by Samantha Chase. Arianna Donovan and Will Jameson have a chance meeting one day far away from their regular lives. There is an instant spark but Will realizes that Arianna is his best friend’s sister. Since he knows the family, he decides to leave without pursuing what could be.

A year later, Will relocates to Arianna’s hometown and the two meet up again. Arianna has strong feelings for Will, but she is unwilling to pursue them since he has left her in the past. Arianna’s family is large and extremely protective of their baby. With most of her siblings single, Arianna tries to shift her family’s focus on someone else. Can Arianna and Will build a life together with so many obstacles in their path? Read Dare Me to find out!

Arianna and Will started out with many hindrances to their relationship. I really enjoyed reading their love story and how they overcame the odds. If you are looking for a happily-ever-after-story, take a chance on a new series with Dare Me. Samantha Chase’s books are always an easy read that will transport you seamlessly to her world.

Arianna and Will spent one day in California and it is enough for them to discover that they are meant to be with each other until Will left without an attempt to contact her. A year has passed; they met again at family gathering. They must decide now whether what they want and have is worth taking a chance on them or what they have shoe just be a beautiful memory left in the past.

This book focus on family relationship and I love the truth or dare game in the story line as it added humor and fun in the question with the feelings are revealed. Overall, it is a sweet read to me with a mixture of fun, hot and romance in its story plot.

*review post will be published on my blog on 8/12/22*

I greatly enjoyed this story. Humour, love and a bit of crazy family drama. Pretty low angst, but with a little tension of how their secret relationship would be revealed. Overall, an enjoyable start to a new series. *I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley and this is my voluntary and honest review.

This story had it all. A dare brought Arianna and Will together, they were to spend 24 hours together and in that 24 hours they discovered alot, it was a unforgettable time, til they went their separate ways and Arianna thought they keep in touch but the jokes on her when a year later her brother brings home a friend who happens to be Will. Arianna thought those feelings were gone, but now seeing Will she's not so sure

Arianna and Will need to grow up and grow some courage. Neither one can make a decision and her family totally ruined this book for me. Not at all what I expect from this author

One day. Can one day really give you the connection that proves you have found the one you were meant to be with? For Arianna and William it did. But they had that one day and then nothing for a year, until fate brings them back together. A romance of second chances. A second chance with her brothers best friend. Yeah did you get that twist that I let slip there? This book is not only romantic but freaking hysterical as well. Sneaking around and trying to make their forever a reality. The Donovan family dynamic is crazy and funny and perfect!
This series is fun and schmexy and beautiful. An amazing read that will warm you heart ❤️.

Thank you NetGalley for this ARC.

This story was your typical love at first sight, but with the twist that the guy is also friends with the girls brother. Truth or dare was the premise behind this story, but it just didn't seem like a necessary component to the story.

The protagonist, Arianna, is 23 but acts like a 12 year old, always wanting her way and throwing tantrums. Her family dynamic was also a little too overbearing and I struggled to push through the family dinner scenes, which were a lot of the time.

It was a quick and easy read, but it was very predictable and I was waiting for something big to happen the entire time, but nothing did. Overall, it just read like a day in and day out journal entry, telling me about all the mundane things that happened that day.

I'm hoping that the next book in the Donovans Series has a bit more of an edge to it to draw me back in.

I have previously enjoyed Ms. Chase Shaughnessy series and was happy to see she has started another Irish American family series. In this novel Arianna is the younger sibling who all the family protects especially her brothers. Arianna met Will why both had a day in San Francisco and was instantly attracted to each other. As they both knew they had one day together they enjoyed being together for that short time only to run into each other a year later through Arianna's brother Liam whose return from being in the Marines along with Will. A story of love when you least expect it. Review on goodreads and amazon.

I haven’t read a Samantha Chase novel in quite awhile. It did not disappoint. It was a good easy read and a welcome distraction to the stresses of life.

It was fate that the man Ariana had spent the day with shows up on her flight, seated next to her. Even though they are both heading in different directions they exchange phone numbers and promise to stay in touch. Then Will ghosts Ariana. Just when Ariana has finally resolved to say Goodbye to her beautiful dream and the guy she never forgot; he turns up at her family home, her brother's best friend and determined to pick up things from where they had left off.
Between the Donovan family dynamics and the relationship dynamics get ready for some fun and games.
Ariana is the baby of her family and treated just that despite being 23 years old and a professional to boot.  Her parents particularly her mother is obsessed with getting her Ariana and her older sister married. So, when Will shows up, Kate Donovan is ready to match make him with her older daughter. Of course, this doesn't go over well with Ariana even though she had resolved that she's over Will.
Between the crazy Donovan family dynamics, the deception practiced by Will, Ariana and her sister, and the challenges between Ariana and Will, you're in for some fun and games. This is a lighthearted romance, a great vacation read which I enjoyed very much.
Can't wait to see what Liam's up to with his frequent trips away and buying a house.

It's a sweet love story, it does a good job opening the series and establish interest for the rest of the siblings stories.

3.5stars—DARE ME is the first instalment in Samantha Chase’s contemporary, adult THE DONOVANS romance series. This is twenty-three year old, radiation therapist Arianna Donovan, and thirty-two year old architect Will Jameson’s story line.

Told from dual third person perspectives DARE ME follows the second chance relationship, of a sorts, between twenty-three year old, radiation therapist Arianna Donovan, and thirty-two year old architect Will Jameson. Approximately one year earlier, Arianna Donovan met Will Jameson in San Francisco, twenty-four hours before returning home to Laurel Bay, North Carolina. Believing she had found her soul mate, Arianna tried desperately to convince Will they were meant to be, with the hopes of a long distance relationship in their future but Arianna had no idea that Will knew exactly who she was, and he wasn’t willing to cross the line with his ‘best friend’s’ little sister. Fast forward to present day wherein Arianna is considering leaving Laurel Bay, in search of her own independence away from her suffocating family but Arianna is blindsided when the man she has never forgotten has taken a job working for her brother Liam. All does not go well as Arianna’s family sets a plan into motion to set up Will with Arianna’s older sister Ryleigh, a plan that forces Will into a fake relationship with someone he doesn’t want. What ensues is the rebuilding friendship but secret relationship between Will and Arianna, and the potential fall out when the Donovan family uncover the truth.

The relationship between Arianna and Will is a rekindling relationship that struggles in the face of secrets and lies, and the ongoing interference from the Donovan clan. The Donovan family is controlling and obnoxious, constantly getting involved in one another’s lives, involvement that is pushing away their youngest daughter. The parents try to control their daughters’s lives; the brothers are a constant source of heart ache and intrusion. The family tries desperately to keep the siblings under control but everyone refuses to help our story line heroine when she first returned to Laurel Bay. There are no $ex scenes-everything is implied.

We are introduced to the over protective, over bearing and often irritating Donovan siblings: Liam, Patrick, Ryleigh and Jamie; their unpleasant parents Kate and Shane Donovan, and uncle Ronan.

DARE ME is a story of family, relationships, friendships and love. The premise is entertaining but I struggled with the Donovan family dynamic and their overwhelming need to interfere and control which made my reading experience difficult and anxiety-filled affecting the overall enjoyment. DARE ME is a well written story line but the character's attitudes, personalities and presentation were problematic for this reader.
