When Arrianna meets Will, they only have a short amount of time together before he’s gone on a mission. When she never hears from him again, she’s heartbroken. As she’s ready to embark on her next step in life, Will walks back into her life with her brother and even though she wants to be honest about their relationship, Will feels her overprotective brother will never understand. This is the first book in a new series, and I can’t wait to see how the family grows and changes throughout this series.

From slow burn to instant temptation, Chase grabs attention. Dare Me turns a little bit naughty into more than irresistible romance. Will and Arianna give nice a shake up that leaves behind a few tingles of the heart.

Dare Me is the first book in the Donovan family series. It will follow each of the siblings, this is Arianna's story.
As the youngest of five she's been over protected her entire life. She's tried to show her family that she's an adult, but they still treat her like a child in pigtails. Only her sister whose used to the same outdated treatment is really aware of what is going on in her life. Arianna meet the perfect man and had one perfect day, she feels fate has stepped in to finally allow them to be together. The only obstacle is her family.
Will is ready to start his life and he can't forget about Arianna and he's ready to make any amends he has to in order to have her in his life. Fighting the entire family and keeping his friendship with his best friend are things he knows will have to occur. Being with someone who makes you happy is the goal and hiding the best thing that's ever happened to him is not the way he can be happy. This is a story of dealing with antiquated views on woman and the ridiculous double standards that still exist in the 21st century. Honestly, I don't like this particular trope, but the rest of the story was really well done.

I thought that this was a really enjoyable story!

I thought that it had a great storyline and it was well written

The book had a lovely natural flow to the story which had a lot of truth and dare and the main theme was family knows best…. But do they really?

The characters were well developed and I loved getting to know them as the book progressed

It is 4 stars from me for this one – highly recommended

This a cute book, but not a good fit for me. I like Samantha Chase, but I’m not a huge fan of the “brother’s best friend” trope. Not when the hero cares more about the brother’s opinion than about treating the heroine with courtesy and respect. First Will ghosted her, then he ambushed her. He’s got a cell phone, he’s got her number—there’s no excuse for his behavior. Arianna is so used to being disrespected by her family that she gives Will a pass. I’m not that generous. Arianna deserves better. DNF at ~30%.

Thanks, NetGalley, for the ARC I received. This is my honest and voluntary review.

Twice a dare...

When Arianna and WIll hooked up a year earlier, it was on a dare.
Now, a year later, Will is daring Arianna.
I didn't like how Arianna took a chance (repeatedly) and Will shot her down and ghosted her.
So, they had one day in San Francisco and a plane ride. Now, in the same place, Will was keeping some secrets from Arianna (also not cool). He really needed to ante up his game and didn't really, because Arianna just made herself so available all the time.

Anne of Green Gables vibes, "I will never forgive Gilbert Blythe!" The truth-or-dare reference/connection was a little heavy-handed, but funny.

Dare Me is the first of the new series The Donovans by Samantha Chase. Arianna Donovan and Will Jameson met spend one day together then Will ghosted Arianna. Now a year later he comes to visit with her older brother. If you wish to read of that special day the prequel titled Call Me. An intriguing dare which worked out perfectly until the day is over.

A year later these two are again face to face. The big difference is that the nosy, overprotective family is right there too. Arianna Donovan is a cute character. Will is one who took the easy road but he grows on you as he decides to act on his strong feelings for Arianna. A dating story of truth or dare, so somewhat immature. Lots of fun just don’t take it too seriously.

An ARC of the book was provided by the publisher through NetGalley which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

“Oooooh!” - I read this book a little over a week ago and I as I sit here thinking about my review I read the first line in the book description and that was my reaction!

I love the best friend’s sister (or brother’s best friend) trope! This was such a great story about Arianna and Will who had met while they were both in California but after one great evening and flight together they didn’t speak for over a year until their paths crossed unexpected. The angst in this book was so much fun! I loved the brothers’ reactions when they found out that Ari lived across the hall from Will! I just don’t understand how Will would’ve made the connection btw Ari with her brother during the flight back home.

As always, I really enjoy books that are set in NC and Samantha Chase is one of my absolute favorite authors! Thank you for such a great read!

A year ago, Arianna Donovan and Will Jameson met on a “dare” from her friends the day before she traveled home. It was their most memorable day ever and a twenty four hours they would always remember. “Fate” happen again, but was quickly lost and their connection disappeared. Arianna thought after a year had passed that she had moved on. When “fate” occurred again and she reconnected with Will and her oldest brother at a family dinner, their connection started to “sizzle” once again. Family interference, overprotective older brothers, a mother who constantly infers she knows “best”, makes Arianna and Will’s life miserable. The challenges and secrets keep increasing, the meddling doesn’t stop, plus emotions run high. It’s a wonderful story and an enjoyable book to start the new series. The book can be read as a standalone. Loved it!

SUCH a great start to the Donovan series! I've been anxiously awaiting this release since reading the prologue when Arianna and Will met the day before they both left San Francisco. This story begins one year later when Will shows up to a Donavan family dinner.

Will dares Arianna to go on a date or at least hear him out since he blew her off for a year. Despite her anger and his hesitance to get too close - his best friend (her brother) does NOT want them to date - they can't stay apart. But they can't make their relationship public just yet. Her family is too overprotective and she needs time before breaking the news of her relationship to her brothers and parents.

Their relationship is sweet and fun. And like many secret relationships, they're bound to get caught.

Their story took me a weekend to read and I cannot wait to read the rest of the Donovan series!

Dare Me was an excellent read! A one time fling on the west coast, turns into 2 strangers riding the plane to their next destination. But when Will ghosts Arianna, she has trouble moving on. Then Will shows up in her small home town with her brother! Apparently they are friends and may be going into business together. This book keeps you turning the page! I loved the bickering, and of course every truth or dare!

This is book one in The Donavan's Series and it is Arianna and Will's story and omg what a great start to a new series and author to me. Arianna and Will had spent one day together but Will is in the marine's and going to DC and Arianna was going to North Carolina but they decided that they would try long distance only Will never answered her calls or called her and she doesn't know why. One year later and Arianna was staying at her brother Liam's place but now he was out of the marine's and due home and she didn't know if he would still let her stay there or if she would need to start looking for somewhere else to live or move away and get on with her life even if she couldn't forget Will and the time that they spend together. When Arianna arrives at her parent's house for a meal Liam her brother walks in and she is so shocked to see Will walk in behind him and Liam announce that he and Will were going into business together and staying at Liam's until her finds a place to stay throwing Arianna for a loop and not knowing what to do next. Will this be a second chance for Arianna and Will giving them the happy ending that they deserve especially as they are so perfect for each other and have strong chemistry or will Arianna walk away and move to a different place and country to work so that she can put distance between them only time will tell what the outcome would be for them. I just couldn't put this book down as the characters and storyline pulled you in right from the first page and I read it in one sitting because it wouldn't let me put it down as it was so addictive and kept my attention the whole book. This is the first book that I have read by Samantha Chase but definitely not the last as it was so well written and worth reading and I can't wait to read more of her book's in the future.

Dare Me is Book 1 of The Donavans Series which can be read as a stand alone. If you want to get the full story of how Ari and Will met I’d recommend you read Call Me which is the prequel to this love story. This is a perfect love at first sight, second chance, age gap, small town, brothers best friend, and ex military story. A small town, a twist of fate and big metaling family makes Will step away previously but are they strong enough to fight for what they want. this story is sweet, sassy, with lots of banter, and sexy. I love Will and Ari’s chemistry off the bat.Nothing like a good game of truth or dare to help you find your possible forever love. Fantastic read! I highly recommend. Can’t wait to read Tempt Me. The next book in the series!

A delightful start to a new series! I devoured the prequel and this book all in the same day, and I'm counting down until the next one releases.

I love when the characters in a story have a deep, genuine connection! Don't get me wrong, I love the chemistry too, but there's just something extra special when they connect on a deeper level and build a friendship first.

The brothers best friend trope is one of my favorites, and this one did NOT disappoint! Will can pretty much win anyone over with his manners and big heart. I truly enjoy a strong MFC and her antics with Truth or Dare were hysterical.

I'm so enamored with the Donovan family and can't wait for everyone to read this series. Filled with laughter, love and mischief - you'll find yourself wondering what kind of dare's you'd be willing to risk it all for.

I think I want to give this book 3.75 Stars. For me, this family of siblings and parents were completely over the top, controlling, and not my cup of tea. Hopefully the rest of the series doesn't focus on the overbearing, nosy family.

I enjoyed Will and Arianna's love story, how they meet in california, fate leads them on the plane ride together the next day, and then the terrible revelation that she is Will's best friend's little sister. These two were sweet together, and I liked how their story was written. However, for me, the family is more aggravating than anything and the parents were ridiculous.

The queen of truth or dare meets the marine on his last year in the military. Arianna and Will have one perfect day together in San Francisco before they head home, but when Will figures out that she is his best friend’s little sister, he ghosts her thinking he was protecting her from family disapproval. One year passes and when Will goes home with Liam, the sparks fly again. I loved reading how these two navigate the family to get together in the end.

3 Stars! This was a really cute second chance romance and brothers best friend romance type of book. Arianna and Will are the main characters and I loved them from the beginning. This is the first book in ‘The Donovan’s’ series, can be read as a standalone and wraps up with an HEA ending. A few sexy times scenes that were the right amount of heat and didn’t get too detailed which is how I like it. Arianna’s family? I get that they love her but could they be any more annoying, even in a loving sort of way? No wonder she wanted to move away. I’m just thankful my own family doesn’t put this much pressure on me to settle down and pop out some babies. I also didn’t see a huge age difference so I wasn’t sure what the family was so against. As much as I liked this book, it was a bit slow for my tastes and tended to drag on. Still an entertaining book.

Samantha Chase is one of my favourite authors. Her novels are always fast and enjoyable reads. However, I found this one fell a bit short. The premise was great. Boy meets girl, become fast friends/love at first sight, a year goes by, then they meet again, chaos ensues. Loved the idea.

However, the characters were really annoying. Arianna was pretty much a spoiled brat the entire book. I get it, she's 25, but she acts like a child, It's no wonder her parents treat her like one. It's sad though, because she had so much potential to be a strong female character. Well educated, great job, found a great apartment, obviously financially well off/independent. Just WHINY. When she couldn't get her way, she had a fit and whined. It was really distracting.

Will was a slightly better character but he seemed to lack any sort of backbone.

The book was fairly enjoyable to read, but the characters were hard to get past. Like I said, great story, annoying characters.

Thank you NetGalley for my ARC!
