The Pulp Girls, as always, are fun and informative! Anyone who loves astrology will love this book. The colours and illustrations really add to it. It would make a great coffee table book.

Fun, funky and informative (yet not overwhelming), this is a great book for beginners to start learning about astrology. Loved the sassy tone of the writing and the fun artwork.

Astrology for the Cosmic Soul is a fun and youthful take on astrology from the women behind the Pulp Girls Instagram. I love the artwork and info on their instagram page so I was excited to read this book. The first half of the book covers astrology basics - sun/moon/rising and I found their descriptions accurate and relatable, There's also an overview on the planets and elements of the signs. The book goes into the personality of each sign, covering compatibility, good and bad traits etc.
The second half of the book covers witchy topics you can use with astrology like tarot, rituals and other divination. There's also a just for fun section going into astrological correspondences, like halloween costumes for each sign or movies for each sign. These types of things you can find on their instagram posts.
The art throughout the book is retro, colorful and fantastic. It would make a great gift to introduce someone to astrology. I would especially recommend it for teens and college aged people.

Retro, funky and fun are the best three words for this book. The illustrations are wild. So so so much information all through the book. Definitely read all signs not just your own!

This was a fun, informative book about astrology. I’ve read several books on the subject, but this was the first one that was actually enjoyable. Filled with bright, colorful drawings that enhanced the pages and a ton of information. The book will guide you through figuring out your birth chart with sun, moon, and rising symbols.

The first part is all about astrology 101- the basics. Other chapters include positive and negative aspects for each sign, how to use astrology with tarot, amulets, and grounding, and then some fun stuff like the best Halloween costumes for each sign, mixology, and what kind of vampire or mermaid you’d be best as.

Recommendation: Definitely recommended for the uninitiated – or if you’re just looking for a fun way to learn about the basics of astrology. I received this as an ebook, but I strongly recommend the physical one. I know I’ve already put it on my “purchase” list.

I absolutely love this book. The layout, it made it so interesting and easy to understand for my autistic brain without a lot of BS. The art work is adorable and really pulls the layout together.

Great Reference Book

The Pulp Girls are awesome. I loved reading this book. They presented background information on Astrology and discussed the twelve recognized signs in regard to the many
personalities. Moreover, they stated that calculating your
birth chart reveals a great amount of information, especially when you first start learning about astrology, thay all the planets combine in vastly different ways for each person.

They outlined a step-by-step recipe for you to get your birth
chart. I love the way they used charts and pictures to illustrate the information needed to calculate your birth charts. They started with the following:

Birth Chart Recipe
Ingredients:
Date of Birth
Time of Birth,
Place of Birth

And, of course, they gave directions.

They discussed the Cardinal, Fixed, and Mutable signs along with listing the twelve zodiac signs and their attributes. They discussed all aspects of astrology in terms of the elements, the Cosmic, and the planets' affecting your sinpgns in the various houses.

The layout and graphics are awesome.

This is a great book for anyone's reference library, whether beginner or adept. Highly recommend.

Okay so I have been following the Pulp girls on Instagram for a while now and boy oh boy was I excited for this one.

This cute little read, had a lot of information for the beginner astrologer and gives you just enough informative to start your spiritual journey with the hint of fun activities and funnily accurate telling for each zodiac.

I would have loved to see more about birth charts and maybe a deep dive into the things most people aren't really familiar with for example your MC and careers or possibly the lilith sign, but I really enjoyed the information that was given in this book!

This is a very pretty book but doesn’t add much more than what I’ve seen in other recent pop astrology books. I think the art, while beautiful, takes up the bulk of it. Would recommend to those just beginning to look into astrology and looking for something light and easy.

This book is so much fun. I love how colorful the art is and how well the book explains things, plus it is very relevant to right now. This is a book that really speaks to today.

There are so many astrology books on the market today and while this one is very similar to the other books available, the design and flair can draw you in. The book breaks down the key concepts of astrology in a way that easily introduces topics to beginners while also giving a refreshing approach to those more experienced in astrology. The book has more fun/unique sections about self-care, tarot, and 'just for fun'. I enjoyed reading the book and learning more about astrology!

Thank you NetGalley for a copy in exchange for an honest review.

This is a fun, modern guide to astrology 101 from two sisters. The first chapter is a basic overview of astrology, the elements, the personal planets, and the generational planets. The book mainly focuses on the Big Three (Sun, Moon, and Rising) with prompts to check your Venus or Mars sign for more information on specific topics (the Venus sign is important in relationships, for example). Chapter two focuses on practical astrology. It discusses stereotypes associated with each sign, two types of people for each sign, compatibility, (not-so) guilty pleasures, and more. Chapter three is about magic: tarot and oracle cards, grounding exercises, and self-care tips. The final chapter is "just for fun" where the signs are paired with movie genres, takeout, vampire vibes, and Halloween costumes. The art in the book is cute, pulpy fairy and mermaid art.

This is the sort of fun astrology book I wish I'd had as a young adult. I don't think there's much to offer the adult reader even though I definitely felt Seen while reading it. This book serms to be geared towards a younger female audience who are interested in "witchy" things and I think I'd recommend it if you know someone who fits that description. If I had to give it a star rating I would give it 3 1/2 stars but would recommend for the target audience.

Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book.

The illustration style is described as “witchy 1970s arthouse film” which I really like and makes it a bit different than the usual astrology illustrations.

This book heavily focuses on the Sun, Moon, and Rising signs. Their meanings are constantly being told which is helpful in case you get them confused as you read. The authors make it a point for the reader to become comfortable with identifying those signs before it jumps into more fun activities. The astrological signs are summarized in broad bullet points as opposed to sticking with one or two things that the signs are known for.

After gaining an understanding of the Big Three Signs, the focus turns into how they relate to magic, such as tarot and oracle cards, self-care activities, grounding exercises, and even witch types. Once that is done, there is a chapter titled “Just For Fun”. It’s exactly what it says in the title, a chapter full of random things similar to what you see online, such as The Signs as Movie Genres (an example taken from the book).

There is a Mini Glossary provided, but it’s at the back of the book. I wish this had been after the Introduction chapter instead.

Overall, it’s a fun book with a digestible understanding of astrology in easy, conversational language.

I have been following The Pulp Girls Instagram account, thats why I was interested this book.
This book ideal for who is beginner in astrology. I learned from it the basics. The large part of the book is entertain the reader. What tarot card you are, what amulet you shoud wear. It is funny and very cute, colourful book.
I expected more facts, less fun, but it was ok.

Thank you, Quarto Publishing Group - Rock Point, for the advance reading copy.

I love books on astrology but I also do not like reading tons and tons of information on every sign. This book has just the perfect balance in summarising each and every sign with all the necessary details or information I needed on each sign.

I find the presentation quite neat and well done. I love the spark of colours on each page.

A book well done.

I always give these books another chance and they’re always wildly inaccurate for me and everyone I know. Sassy tone and retro illustrations. You need to do your birth chart online and know your exact time and place of birth for a lot of it. It was just so far off for me and my friends and family members that I once again was reminded of why I don’t read astrology books.

Absolutely loved this book. Interesting fresh take on astrology in an easy to read way. Packed full of information. I will be buying this.

I have tried to read this properly but struggling, as the illustrations catapult me back into time!
I'm suddenly 20 years younger and listening to MTV Music on my semi flat screen (still quite chunky) in my room with a single bed, with pink Sabrina the teenage witch bedding...

Okay maybe too many details... but the text was easy to follow... teenage easy, so maybe this is aimed at a much younger public and I clearly not that.

I do want to thank NetGalley to grant me the ARC.

If you loved early 2000’s Teen Magazines,, Lisa Frank, and learning about astrology you would love this! It follows, the understanding of the big main three signs in your birth chart with some fun bonus features. The art style is similar to Lisa Frank, very well done and nostalgic. The layout remind me of a early 2000’s Teen Magazines and was very easy to read and follow. It was a fun figuring out your birth chart and opening up a path to learning bits about yourself along the way.

Would recommend this to anyone interested in the basics of astrology or simply just a fun read with friends.
