The book really tested my patience. There was nothing going on apart from them going back and forth with their attraction.
They were either kissing or thinking about kissing.
The FMC was literally talking about an expected murder that they need to stop from happening, they stopped talking mid conversation and suddenly started? Kissing, that's right.
I didn't like it, and definitely don't recommend it.

I have to say that I enjoyed reading this heart wrenching story. Ivette and the Marquess certainly had some hardships in their life. I loved that the author portrayed Ivette’s character as a strong person, even though she didn’t feel that way inside. I loved that the book was a fast pace book for me. The entertainment from each characters background was awesome to know and understand before the main plot of the story was cultivated in the book. The romance was sweet and fun to read.

This one is kind of hard to review. I thought the writing was really messy at the beginning, to the point that I was wondering if this ARC was a first draft. I was on the verge of giving it up when things started flowing a bit better.
I had a bit of trouble understanding the motivations of Ivy and Ash regarding their burdens, but I decided to overlook that in favour of the romance between the two.
Hollows does a good job in building up the sexual tension between the two leads, and as the story progressed I did enjoy their banter.
There is a side-plot with a murder mystery that I honestly felt could have been cut down, especially the final act of it.
So in short it starts off very simplistic, but I'm glad I stuck with it.

Mayhem and the Marquess is the first book of Win Hollows that I have read. This story takes two characters from different walks of life and throws them together by a chance encounter. A bargain is made and passion, danger, and suspense are soon to follow! I love a little danger with romance and was kept entertained from beginning to end. I will be looking for more books from this author in the future.

Ivy has a hard life until she runs into Asher as she trying to sell some vases. He offers to replace the value of them to help her out. They become involved in a scheme that sometimes doesn't go as planned. Alot of back and forth about whether they should be together or not. To much back and forth for me. I skipped about 25% of the book towards the end. Overall I thought the book was good.

I love a good historical romance with a bit of danger! Ash and Ivy's story has both in just the right quantity and quality. This book is a good reminder that even if life throws a curve in your path, it doesn't have to always turn out bad.

Ivy Wollard, daughter of an infamous murderer, confronts life head on, wield knives instead of needlepoint. Yet when she meets the Marquess of Blackbourne, she must deal with him and his proposed scheme. However, Asher Blackbourne has a secret where he knows that it is just a matter of time until he goes mad and loses his illustrious title. Ivy might just fit into his plan. She too is concerned that her past threatens to overwhelm her.
This is a dramatic story, full of mystery, passion and secrets. Ivy’s strength and determination were well expressed and highlighted her ability to survive. She did all that she could to face danger, head one. Asher’s struggles with his mental health were clearly evident so it was touching to see how Ivy brings some hope to his future. A great read.

I loved Ash and Ivy! This was a wonderful story of learning to accept who you are and fighting attraction to someone that you know you shouldn’t love. Great read!

A chance encounter leads to an unconventional bargain. As passion flares, so does danger…

This historical romantic suspense is emotional and well-written with interesting and likable characters. Fun banter, combustible chemistry, and some gruesome suspense elements.

Thanks, NetGalley, for the ARC I received. This is my honest and voluntary review.
