This book felt pretty average to me. There wasn’t a spark that made me love it unfortunately, but I will try this author again.

I loved the previous book by this author sadly this one just didn’t do it for me as much. Still an enjoyable listen & love this author.

**please note due to low rating I will not be leaving a public review for this book as I have not paid for it.**

Narrated by Larner Wallace-Taylor ⭐⭐⭐
I didn't particularly love this narrator. Some of her character voices did my head in.

Author Julie Houston ⭐⭐. 5
This is the first time I've heard of this author, and while I didn't particularly get into this story I would definitely try another one. (I see many in thr kindle store so I just need to pick one)

In regards to this particular audiobook there are so many issues with it. It cuts out mid chapter and starts again and I think that played a massive part of me not getting into the book so I hope you guys fix if before it goes live.

I couldn't get into this. I tried several times and found it either hard to follow/disjointed, or slow and boring. I saw on Goodreads this is a sequel (I didn't know that) and it seems all the reviewers vastly preferred the first book involving these characters by Julie Houston, so I'll be looking for that. Sorry it was a miss for me! LOVE the cover, however (the one here, not the one on good reads).

I did not like the narrator at all. I found this book to be really forced and cringy. It is not The book for me at all. I couldn't make it past the second chapter because I found the characters so irratating. It was like listening to a bad episode of Emmerdale.

Julie Houston has a way of painting a picture with her words, making the book come to life. She is also hilarious!

I didn't realize this was the second installment of this series as it's not clearly indicated anywhere, including Goodreads. However, the book reads just fine as a stand-alone. I will not go back and read the first book since every plot point was explained in this book, but if there's a third book, I will read it.

This is the kind of contemporary fiction I love. It has real life events, relationship issues (martial, parental, and friendship), and the characters face real consequences for their decisions and mistakes. The characters were honest and dynamic.

Larner Wallace-Taylor narrating was only okay to me. I love accents, especially in audiobooks. However, there was very little range with her voice for the characters. It almost seemed that her accent was to suffice as differentiating the characters and nothing more.

I rated it 4.5 stars because there were some things I personally found offensive (repeatedly calling a possibly gay man a tranny, underage drinking with parental consent, teen dating adult because "there's nothing that can be done about it"). These may all be cultural differences, so I rounded up to 5 stars.

Thank you to Saga Egmont Audio for providing me with an ALC.
