Love this series and author. If you haven't read it yet and her books. I highly recommend doing so. I suggest reading the books in order.

Four Leaf Cleaver is book 11 in the Country store mystery and while I enjoy the small southern Indiana town and its residents especially Robbie amateur sleuth and restaurant owner. And while I enjoy reading about her bumping heads with the sheriff the mysteries at least for me are starting to get predictable. It could be because I’ve read so many of the series as well as cozy mysteries in general that I’ve started to pick up the patterns. But I still pick them up because they are a great comfort read. And cozies are my go to comfort read.

FOUR LEAF CLEAVER is the eleventh book in the Country Store Mystery series by Maddie Day. Any mention of a cooking show competition as a plotline and I’m ready to dive right in. This newest release is centered around the filming of the “Holiday Hot-Off” competition at protagonist Robbie Jordan’s country store restaurant, Pans ‘N Pancakes. Adding to the appeal is the theme of Irish dishes using Irish stout as an ingredient. Ms. Day does an admirable job pulling the reader in from the very first with lots of action (be it running the restaurant, tending to customers, or investigating murders) to set a quick pace that kept me turning pages. As always, the characters are memorable, and more changes are hinted at. I’m especially happy to see that police lieutenant Buck Bird comes across more intelligently, despite his down-home sayings, which lend more depth to the investigation. It was also a pleasure having Robbie’s new husband, Abe, more involved on the page this time. Their interaction adds a heartwarming feel to the story… and I loved how Abe’s cooking skills earned him a spot in the competition.

When the producer is found murdered in Robbie’s B & B before the competition has a chance to even start, Robbie gets pulled into the investigation. Could it be one of the contestants who had a grudge? Or one of the crew members? Or did one of the townsfolk have a run in with her? Robbie’s methodical approach to sussing out clues and talking to people gives the reader plenty to mull over. With suspects aplenty, I was kept guessing until the suspenseful reveal. Ms. Day knows how to spin a tale to keep a reader engaged and this newest release adds a delightful Irish flair!

Such a quirky fun series with Robbie and her pancakes in a small town setting. Always glad to revisit this charming place, murders and mysteries not withstanding. Another well written, keep it interesting until the end book.

Another fun mystery set in Pans ‘N Pancakes! I love Robbie and the adventures she gets into as well as all the quirky and fun small-town personalities.

The St Patrick’s Day themed cooking show took a fun perspective. I felt I knew whodunnit early on, but it didn’t take away from all her sleuthing. I love that the author takes you through Robbie’s thought process.

Thank you #NetGalley and #KensingtonBooks for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Another hit by Maddie Day! Four Leaf Cleaver is the 11th book in the A Country Store Mystery series. This series is one of my favorites. I always look forward to seeing what Robbie and her team of cooks and cohorts is up to.
This time it's a televised cooking competition being filmed in her restaurant. Robbie is not a contestant, but her true love husband Abe is showing his talents for the stovetop. All is going well and tantalizing smells are teasing noses until the producer/hostess Tara's luck has run out and she's discovered dead in her room of Robbie's B&B upstairs. Robbie discovers Abe had a history with the deceased, so she's all in to make sure he doesn't go down for the murder.

Since this is the 11th book in the series, readers might need to suspend their belief that an ordinary citizen is not commanded by the police to stay away from the investigation. But even the seasoned detectives in the crime unit have come to realize that Robbie has a knack for ferreting out the truth behind the murders. That's part of the fun in this series.

The author, Maddie Day, has quickly become one of my favorite Cozy Mystery authors. She has written several series and I truly enjoy them all. Her characters are quirky and fun, and she puts together an ensemble cast in each series. This series does always make me hungry, however! I wish there was a restaurant like Robbie's in my town.

Thanks to NetGalley and Kensington Books for letting me read an advanced copy. I'm happy to leave my review for this interesting story!

I adored this springy murder mystery with tie ins to a cooking show- combining two of my favorite things! One part that was unbelievable however was Robbie deciding to host the second try of the show after restaurant hours instead of waiting until the next Monday. I hope she was compensated well for it!

Four Leaf Cleaver by Maddie Day is book #11 in the Country Store Mystery series. It's St. Patrick's Day and the "Holiday Hot-Off" Cooking Competition is being held in Robbie Jordan's country store, Pans 'n Pancakes. All is set up for filming the competition and the cooking contestants are ready to go. There's just one problem... producer Tara O'Hara Moore, who is staying upstairs of the country store in the B&B section, is not on site and isn't answering her phone. She is found dead in her room. Amateur sleuth Robbie Jordan, who has assisted the police in previous investigations, is on the case. I really like the characters in this book. The main characters are very likable. It was fun reading along as Robbie collects clues. Her husband, Abe O'Neill just wishes she didn't face so much danger. I loved the surprise at the end. I look forward to the next book in the series,

This continues to be a favorite series of mine. Robbie is a down to earth, hard working business owner and friend to many, her set up in the hub of town and her natural curiosity make her an excellent amateur sleuth. In our latest story, Robbie has lent her space for a televised cooking contest, hoping for some publicity for her restuarant, only to find out that the director of the show and hostess is detested by her employees, half the contestants and basically anyone she has spent any time with! When she is murdered can anyone narrow down all the people who wished her ill to figure out who did it? Can Robbie discover just a few important facts that point the police in the right direction??? Definitely worth your time to check it out. Thanks to NetGalley for the chance to read this early!

I received a free copy from the publisher through Netgalley and voluntarily reviewed it.

Four Leaf Cleaver is the eleventh book in the Country Story Mysteries series. This is one of my favorite cozie mystery series and I was excited to dive into this latest installment. It's Saint Patrick's Day and Robbie has agreed to have a cooking show take place in her shop after work hours. The producer ends up getting killed and Robbie gets involved into another mystery.

The mystery was a good one. Although somehow I managed to guess the culprit in one of the first scenes with all the suspects, not even sure why, but I knew for sure that I was right and I was. Nevertheless I really enjoyed seeing the mystery play out. I felt it was fun seeing everything play out while knowing the culprit and seeing how the characters got to the same conclusion. I felt like there were plenty of suspects and plenty of secrets that come to light along the way, which I always enjoy. I thought it made sense how Robbie came to the conclusion and I liked how she was smart about her sleuthing. The ending was great and wrapped everything up well.

One of my favorite parts of this series is reading about Robbie's daily life and her store. In this book Robbie and her husband Abe are trying to get pregnant, but they don't have much luck yet. Besides that she's growing closer to her stepson Sean, which I enjoyed reading about. And then there is her work at the restaurant, I always enjoy reading about her work days and the specials they come up with. There wasn't as much about the actual cooking show, it was more the set up for the mystery and the characters involved, but I thought that worked here.

To summarize: Another great read in this series. This is one of my favorite cozy mystery series and I had fun reading this one. The mystery was a good one, although I did manage to guess the culprit very early one. I still enjoyed seeing things progress and how Robbie figured out who was the killer. The daily life parts are one of my favorite parts of this series. I like reading about Robbie's daily life, the characters she interacts with and her work at her restaurant. I already look forward to the next book in the series!

Four Leaf Cleaver is a nice cozy, and Maddie Day has a very smooth writing style. The food (and subsequent recipes) all sounded delicious, and the small Midwest town is a great setting for such a book. With all that said, Four Leaf Cleaver just wasn't one of my favorite cozies. The mystery wasn't intriguing, and I didn't like any of the characters, including the main sleuth. Overall, it's fine, and if you like cozies, you very well may enjoy this book.

Robbie is back, in this new installment of the Country Store mysteries. She’s hosting a cooking show from her store, when something goes deadly wrong in one of her B & B rooms. She’s determined to get some answers, and starts asking questions of her own. In this cozy mystery, there are many possibilities as to whom the culprit might be, but Robbie and the local police are able to crack the case.

Thank you to the author, Kensington Books, and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this ARC.

St. Patrick's day celebration, foodies, and babies galore is what this new book brings in the series. Always a fun read.

Its springtime in South Lick Indiana, everyone is excited about a hot food cookout competition featuring an Irish menu and Pans and Pancakes has been chosen to host the televised event. Queue in one unlikeable and dead tv host and you have the beginning of another great mystery. Robbie has her hands full with the restaurant/B&B and show, she also has the baby blues as her friends all seem to be pregnant and she is still trying. No time to dwell on baby news as she, Lt. Buck, and Statie Oscar have to solve the murder.

Another good who done it by author Maddie Day, sure to keep you guessing.

Thank you Netgalley and Kensington Publisher

Robbie Jordan is always busy running Pans ‘N Pancakes, her country store/restaurant but she has agreed to let a televised cooking competition to be filmed there. She quickly regrets that decision when the producer is murdered and it seems likely that the killer was one of the contestants or someone working for the show. Robbie is curious as to who the killer is and does some sleuthing on her own but she needs to be careful or she may become the next victim.

Four Leaf Cleaver is the nicely done eleventh book in Maddie Day’s Country Store cozy mystery series. I love this series – starting with Robbie’s restaurant – the things she cooks sound so good that I wish I could visit Pans ‘N Pancakes in person! I was a bit wary about the cooking competition – that plotline has been done a lot in cozy mysteries – but Day managed to breathe new life into what could have been a tired concept. The recipes the contestants were making sound really good (they are included in the back of the book) and the cooking contest provides plenty of suspects and motives. I was kept guessing until the very end as to who the killer was which I really like when reading cozy mysteries.

Four Leaf Cleaver is a nicely done cozy mystery.

This Country Store Mystery is set during St. Patrick’s Day with Robbie Jordan's Pans ’N Pancakes busy serving Irish food and decorated with shamrocks. Robbie has also agreed to let a televised cooking show be filmed on-site. But before the cameras start rolling, unpopular producer Tara O’Hara Moore is found bludgeoned to death in the upstairs B&B. A cleaver with a unique four-leaf clover design is left on the scene.

There are plenty of possible suspects: competitor Liam Walsh who claimed Tara had stolen his Irish recipes, belittled P.A. Jaden who also has personal secrets he was kept hidden, camerawoman Vin, and local brewer Nicky who supplied the Irish stout used in the competition. Even Robbie's husband Abe had a bad experience with Tara when they both worked in the navy.

The show's backers insist on rescheduling the cooking show a few days later, and everyone agrees. Then another suspicious death disrupts the taping. Robbie is determined to help the local and state police to find the killer. This was another enjoyable entry in the long-running Country Store mystery series.

I received a digital ARC from Netgalley and Kensington. All opinions are my own.

I always love a good book trip to South Lick, Indiana and Four Leaf Cleaver did not disappoint! This Robbie Jordan mystery centers all around St. Patrick's Day and a food competition going on in her restaurant, Pans 'N Pancakes. The competition and mystery were interesting, as always, but what I really love about the Country Store Mystery series is the cast of characters. The characters make you feel like you are just as at home in the Country Store Mysteries as Robbie is. Four Leaf Cleaver is a great cozy mystery to jump into!

I received this as an arc from Netgalley so thank you. This is no way influenced my review.

I have not read any of the others in this series (and might not have put my hat in the ring had I know it was 11 books in but that didn't seem to matter as it turned out. It was easy enough to catch up).

Robbie Jordan owns/cooks at her country store Pans & Pancakes and she has agreed to host an Irish Cook Off show for St. Patrick's day. She doesn't know much about the show or the host but figures it will be a nice publicity opportunity and her husband plans to cook in it.

The abrasive show host, Tara O'Hara, is killed before the show could go on. The list of suspects is long and varied from her ex-husband who thought she took everything from him, Liam Walsh, another competitor who claimed she stole his recipes, Jaden her belittled personal assistant, Vin the camera woman, even Nicky the brewer supplying the Irish stout they have to use. Heck even Abe, Robbie's husband, had a bad turn with this woman years ago in the navy.

I thought the mystery was good and it has the right combo of amateur sleuth and friendly investigators. The characters were good. I enjoyed her relationship with her stepson. The ending was a little blah though. I felt a little let down by it.

The other thing that got on my nerves was Robbie's desire to have Abe's baby because it went on and on and on, how they've been having sex all year and nothing but had NO deeper exploration of infertility and the trauma it causes made all the worse by suddenly everyone she knows being pregnant (you can imagine how this thread turned out).

I would read more of this series because over all this was a fun mystery.

Another fun installment in this series.
Robbie's store will be the scene for a televised cooking show, and everyone is excited. The morning of the first shoot, the star, and host, is found in her room, having taken a fatal blow to her head. Now the "fun" begins. There are a lot of people who could have been the killer, and a lot of people with past connections to her, including Robbie's husband. So of course, Robbie will do some sleuthing to see if she can find the killer.
I know, like many cozy mysteries, there is a lot of moments that are completely unrealistic. But all in all, this is an extremely enjoyably book.
I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Publication Jan. 31, 2023 Country Store Mystery #11

A relatively quick, easy read that will both entertain you and leave you hungry. Never fear, there are some absolutely delicious sounding recipes at the end. Lots of food talk in the book, too, of course. You'll also get a peek at the personal lives of many involved, including Robbie and Abe.

The plot centers about Robbie's country store and restaurant, Pans 'N Pancakes, being selected to host a holiday cooking competition. In this case, the holiday is St. Patrick's Day. Gee, I'm betting you guessed that from the title and cover. <smile> In any case, even Robbie's husband, Abe, gets into the spirit and is one of the contestants. Unfortunately, Tara O'Hara, the show's hostess, is found dead the morning the show is to be filmed. As it turns out, there are ample suspects and clues and red herrings to keep Robbie's curiosity on full alert, not to mention that when, surprisingly, the show's powers that be decide the show will go on, Robbie is drafted to do the hostess duties. To be honest, although I'm not really familiar with cooking shows, that did strike me as a tad unrealistic. She not only is inexperienced, busy and distracted, but there are others handy who believe they should have gotten the nod.

That's all I'm going to say about the plot, sorry, so you're going to have to read the book to find out not just how Robbie handles her impromptu hostessing duties but another dead body in her store. As a long time reader of this series, I just knew her curiosity and unending questions would get her in trouble and, of course.... oh, wait. I said I wasn't sharing any more of the plot. Yep, you need to read this one. It's a fun series.

Thanks #NetGalley and #KensingtonBooks for inviting me over to watch the filming and hang out with Robbie. I was a bit startled at one of the places we went, however, but it was fun.
