Thanks Netgalley and Roaring Brook Press for this eARC, these opinions are my own. I thought the world building in the book was wonderful! I think it was an interesting take on how the far realm would connect to the human realm. Meaning it’s unique and a little bit horrifying at the same time! Aziza, Tristan, and Leo were all interesting and how interesting storylines happening to them! I definitely recommend you read this!

this was a great debut from Rochelle Hassan, I really enjoyed the concept and what was happening to these characters. It was what I was hoping for when I saw the description and am glad I was able to read this. The characters were what I was hoping for and was glad that they felt like real people. The supernatural elements were what I was hoping for and worked in the story.

"His stomach clenched in horror. It was … alive. The creature was a wrecked, twisted thing made of wood, its limbs burned away to charred nubs and sap running down its torn body like blood. Its bark had cracked open in places to reveal its pale interior."
