This is the next book in this quartet of Jasmine being in Japan for a family vacation. They just left there first destination and are heading to Hiroshima to visit their grandmother and other family. Sophie and Jasmine are finally getting along really well but that is interrupted by their cousin Akari who wants to monopolize Sophie’s time and leave Jasmine out of there playtime. They explore Hiroshima and end up with all of them getting along just in time for the last day they will be there and are heading for their next adventure. This is a really cute series and there is authors note that explains the history of the place they go to in the book and a activity for you to do that relates to where they visited in the book.
Thanks to Farrar, Straus and Girouxand Netgalley for the complimentary copy of this book in e-book form. All opinions in this review are my own.

I thought this was such a great and important addition to Jasmine’s Japan adventures. I was wondering when she mentioned in the previous book if WWII would be discussed at all once they got to Hiroshima and it did. I got a little misty-eyed when she saw Sadako’s statue since that story is so heartbreaking. I love that what you learn about in the back is how to make an origami dove, easier to make than a crane, after you learn a little more about Sadako. And the sika deer! And, of course, though you're learning all about proper Japanese etiquette and culture, you're still learning an important over all moral lesson. In this case, you never know what someone else is dealing with and sometimes, you just have to see things from their perspective to figure out how to deal with it. I loved this installment so much. I can’t wait for the next one!
