Thanks to Netgalley and St. Martin's Press for the ARC e-book. This book had several things that I enjoy, including short chapters that kept you hooked and multiple perspectives all with connected pasts. I definitely didn't want to put it down at times. The ending fell a little flat for me, but overall I enjoyed the read.

Alex Finlay really knows how to write edge of your seat thrillers and this book will have your heart thumping throughout!

Jenna, Nick and Donnie spent a few years together while growing up as foster kids in the group home called "Saviour House" which was not anything close to.that name. All they wanted was to be free from that place and the abuse that took place there. When three of their other friends go missing the kids decide to take matters into their own hands and promise one another to never tell another soul about their plans to save themselves.

Twenty-five years later Jenna is very happy and finally content with her life when she receives a cryptic message on her cell phone threatening her family unless she fully cooperates with the anonymous sender.

Nick is currently a well-known reality show producer and finds himself in a situation where he might not make it out alive after receiving a non threatening phone message.

Then there is Donnie a now aging rock star who lived the high life of fame and fortune but now his life is limited to gigs where he can get them and currently he and his band are performing on a cruise ship. Donnie can only enjoy himself if he' s high on alcohol or drugs so when a beautiful woman asks for his autograph he has no idea that she wants more than Donnie is prepared to understand or voluntarily give.

The three old friends must somehow meet up to find out who is the mastermind behind their death threats and why after twenty-five years of silence. After continuously being stalked by unknown predators the trio realizes that even though their past has always haunted them they finally understand that now, the devil has arrived to collect his due!

What an outstanding and cleverly written this thriller was. The action along with the twists and turns that never stops and I would find myself holding my breath at different times. The tension, suspense, never ending mystery and thrills were so entertaining and all the characters were engaging while being realistic. Several subplots occurring throughout the story had myself brainstorming while being on edge trying to figure out who was behind all the dangerous puzzles. I really enjoyed the balance of the dual time lines which made the characters so relatable when connecting their well described past lives as kids to what they suffered before, during and after living at the "Saviour House". Their lives as children was heartbreaking at times but having each other back then gave them the only bits of happiness and safety that they needed for survival.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and can't wait to read more by this author. I highly recommend this novel to all dark, suspense loving thriller readers!

I want to thank the publisher " St. Martin's Press" (Minotaur Books) and Netgalley for the opportunity to read this digital copy and any thoughts or opinions expressed are unbiased and mine alone!

I have given a rating of 4 1/2 TERRIFYING AND BREATHTAKING 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌠 STARS!!

There is a lot of characters to keep up with. My favorite was Jenna, hands down! While i enjoyed The Night Shift better than What Have We Done by Alex Finlay, it was still a good book and would recommend if you enjoyed his previous books.

Twenty-five years ago, five teenagers formed an unbreakable bond when they shot and buried someone while living at Savior House, an abusive group home for wayward teens. Although they didn't keep in contact, they've all gone on to lead successful lives: a drunk rock star, a judge, a tech billionaire, a gambling-addicted tv producer, and a former assassin. When the judge is murdered and assassination attempts are made on all the others, they are forced into a reunion none of them wanted to find the killer.

What Have We Done is a non-stop action-hero thriller. The plot was utterly ridiculous; one girl was basically just Black Widow from the Marvel comics. Is it great literature? Of course not. The character development was terrible and the narrative had absolutely no nuance. However, I will say the high action keeps you flipping pages, so if you want something mindlessly entertaining, What Have We Done will do.

This novel is intense! There is so much happening from the beginning that hooks the reader in. I enjoyed the book and found it to be a quick read.

The ending was a bit much and I feel like there were a couple of plot holes. However, I read an advanced reader copy so it’s possible those may have been cleaned up in the final draft.

Overall, I enjoyed the book. The characters were well developed and I definitely had strong feelings about whether I liked each one or not. The setting was creepy in just the right way. There should be a trigger warning listed as there are instances of child abuse - more implied than detailed, but still important to note.

Thank you to #NetGalley #Macmillan #St.Martin’sPress for an eARC of #WhatHaveWeDone by #AlexFinley - 4 stars

Thank you to @minotaurbooks @netgalley for the #gifted copy of the book.

I couldn't put this book down! This book griped me from the beginning and took me on a wild ride. Multi-POV story. Donnie, Jenna, Nico, Ben and Art all meet when they are kids at the Savior House foster home. They all have had a rough life in one way or another. Years later they are reunited and not in a good way. Jenna and Donnie's story was my favorite, but I liked how it nicely came together. I stayed up late finishing this one.

I received this from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. This was a multi POV story about a group of kids that grew up in a very horrible situation in a foster kids home. They are all adults now and have gone their separate ways. Someone is threatening them and they have to get to the bottom of this before their secrets come out. I enjoyed this book, it was entertaining and had a good story line. There were some high intense parts and I love when an author makes me really uncomfortable while reading, I know that they are a good writer able to evoke real emotion. My favorite chapters were Jenna's as I felt her were the most intense and active. The ending was great, complete turning the pages furiously to see what would happen. The author even through in one final twist which was awesome! I would have given the book 4 stars, but there were a few parts of the story line that I would have liked to see explained a little bit more. That being said I really did enjoy Alex Finlay's books and I will continue to have this author as an auto read for me.

This was my first Alex Finlay book, and I was disappointed. I won’t write the author off all together because the book was okay. I gelt like there were too many characters, and I was confused a lot of the time trying to remember who was who and how they had connected.

I have mixed feelings about Alex Finlay. I did enjoy the premise and the build up of this story. It was tense and riveting and just awesome. I didn't enjoy the character development as much as I'd hoped and the conclusion/resolution was disappointing. I do like the plot line with the three main people have the Savior House connection but I also felt like I wasn't explored enough and got cut short. All in all, it wasn't my favorite from this author.

This one wasn't my favorite. I lovedddd the Night Shift and had high hopes for this book but there was just a lot going on and I was confused a lot of the time (not in a fun way).

Enjoyed the multiple POVs! Audio was great but there were moments I was a bit confused because of the back and forth of POVS. I think the actual physical copy would have not confused me as much. Regardless, I enjoyed the plot and the way the twists tie the story together!

First up let me thank NetGalley and the publisher for the advanced copy.
I read Alex Finlay's The Night Shift last year and it was really good. I probably wouldn't have read the book but a book club subscription service I used to get sent it to me one month. It was a very pleasant surprise and I liked that one so much that when I saw he had a new one coming out I applied for the advanced copy. This one does have a LOT of characters to keep straight but it wasn't too confusing. Each character has its own distinctive character but it did move fast and furious. I do wish some more time had been taken with the back story of The Saviour House where the 5 orphans all lived. I felt like their horrific times at Saviour House deserved more page time than was given. The assassin twins felt like they were supposed to be menacing and scary when they were really just annoying AND there was zero back story on why these two became they way they did. I'm still not sure what the one weapon was the twin was using. This one did keep me questioning who ordered the deaths until about 3/4 of the way then it started to shake out but not without a few red herrings to make you think you are wrong. All in all it was a solid read and I'm grateful for the opportunity to get the advanced copy!

Unfortunately this author is not for me. This was the second book I’ve tried to read by this author and I just could not get into it. This book felt like a bad action movie with too many characters. DNF 40%

What Have We Done is a twisty suspense. It took me a bit to get the rhythm but when it takes off it really takes off. It’s wasn’t until I was well into reading it that I realized the depth of the backstories and how deeply the pieces are beautfully entwined. I enjoyed the characters - the friendships, the connections; the writing style was effortless when it should be and heavier when it needed to be. The title is perfection. Overall, a great thriller.

I have loved all of Alex Finlay’s books, but unfortunately this one wasn’t my favorite. It wasn’t until around 70% of my way through the book that I felt like I started to see how the characters interlaced histories were playing out. I would be fine with that except for the fact that it made the story feel more chaotic than was necessary.

I will say, I did enjoy the ending and the last 30% of the book held my interest so much that I initially felt very satisfied when I finished the book. However, as I thought about it, I remembered how long it took me to read the book because it just wasn’t clicking for me.

I look forward to his next novel!

This was my first book by this author but I will be looking for more. I really enjoyed this action packed thriller. Thanks to NetGalley for the privilege to read and review this book.

I really enjoyed this one! I was captivated during the first third and the last third. The middle was a little slower but still great. I am definitely going to be reading more Alex Finlay books. I love the writing style and the different POVs were easy to follow and left a lot to suspense.

Oh this was fun! These short chapters whiz us through a story weaving past and present together.

We follow a group of friends that come back together as adults. An assassin, a rockstar, a judge and a reality show star. We’ve got twins and big bad bosses. I know this sounds like it could be weird and confusing but it works!

Auto-buy author! I have love the last two by this author (this and Night Shift) and now need to catch up and read Every Last Fear!

This book was so much fun. I love a fast paced, action thriller and this one really delivered. Told from multiple POV’s with alternating timelines, it was interesting to see how Finlay wove the story together and where it ultimately ended up. I was kept deliciously off kilter and was constantly intrigued by what would happen next. Finlay writes an intelligent and well plotted thriller that is impossible to put down and I’m already anticipating his next novel. A dark, fun, smart, rollercoaster of a read!

I love books that are descriptive and this was it for me. I enjoyed this one but found myself feeling confused on the plot and where the story was headed. I caught myself zoning out. There was just to much going on and not much character development.
