A good story with good characters working at finding love and hoping for a second chance at love after being burned from the previous relationship. A good story short and a nice holiday story.

This second chance at love Christmas romance is enjoyable but not outstanding. A fun quick read if you're in the mood.

I did not have time to finish this title before it's publication date. It also appears to be a re-release of a 2020 title. Our consortia does not own this particular book by Marie Harte, but we do have 41 of her books and over 30 eBooks, the most recent being the Turn Up the Heat series.

This is a good book. The two main characters are Nora and Deacon. Deacon meet Nora when his brother started dating Nora’s cousin. There was an instant attraction. They started seeing each other. They each had trust issues but together they worked through them and fell in love.

Enjoy the humour and spice of a sexy holiday romance sure to warm up your winter. From the very first page of this book, I was stunned, mesmerised. Written with a ferocious passion that'll knock the wind out of you!

Thank you to NetGalley for the eARC.

I'll be honest, this one was absolutely not for me. I really had to push myself to get through it and did not enjoy my time with the book at all.

It was an overall good book... Though I would have liked it to a bit longer maybe see how the two main characters played out a bit more.... But I enjoyed reading it.

I like a spicy romance as much as the next person, but I still want a little substance to go along with it, and that was lacking with The Christmas Sneak. This read more like a college-level short story for a creative writing course. The writing wasn't bad, but I personally wouldn't qualify it as a novel. It was very much just serving its purpose to get us to the steamy parts. That's fine for those looking for a little light erotica only, just not my cup of tea.

3.75stars-THE CHRISTMAS SNEAK is the second instalment in Marie Harte’s contemporary, adult HOPE’S TURN HOLIDAYS erotic, romance series focusing on a close knit group of family and friends during the holiday season. This is thirty-nine year old, former NFL quarterback Deacon Flashman, and thirty-five year old, freelance editor Nora Nielson’s story line. THE CHRISTMAS SNEAK can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

Told from third person perspective THE CHRISTMAS SNEAK follows the friends to enemies to lovers relationship between thirty-nine year old, former NFL quarterback Deacon Flashman, and thirty-five year old, freelance editor Nora Nielson. Approximately one year earlier, having watched her best friend fall in love with ex NFL star Mitch Flashman, Nora found herself wanting a family of her own. A date with Mitch’s brother Deacon ended with Deacon ghosting our story line heroine, and in the interim, made everyone uncomfortable when both were at family get togethers. Enter Nora’s ‘nephew’ Simon, and his girlfriend Jenna, who have plans to push Nora and Deacon back together. A snowy weekend at the cabin forces Jenna and Deacon to confess the secrets of their past, a past that is about to become their future. What ensues is the tempestuous but building romance and relationship between Nora and Deacon, as our couple must come to terms with past failures and plans for their future.

The relationship between Nora and Deacon is a friends to enemies to frenemies to lovers relationship in which Nora had no idea what had happened or why. Deacon had been burned in the past, and our hero refused to go down that rode, with anyone, ever again. Nora had her own secrets but Nora wanted marriage and children, and with no prospects in Hope’s Turn, Oregon, Nora considered packing her bags, and moving on. A week spent with Deacon quickly changed her mind, a week in which both revealed their attraction and need for one another. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

We are reintroduced to Mitch and Becca Flashman (Any Given Snow Day 1; Nora’s nephew Simon and his girlfriend Jenna, as well as extended family, friends and the occasional ex.

THE CHRISTMAS SNEAK is a quick read; a ‘Hallmark-esque’ story of family, friendships, relationships and love all wrapped in a snowy holiday setting where everyone gets their own happily ever after. The premise is fun and engaging; the romance is sensual; the characters are broken but moving forward.

I seem to be among the few that didn't love this book, but unfortunately, I had a hard time finishing it. The writing style was good, but I couldn't get into the story. I also wasn't a fan of the main characters (mostly Nora), so maybe thats why.

Thank you to NetGalley and publishers for allowing me access to this arc in exchange for an honest review!

Deacon and Nora have a love hate relationship. Attempted to date once, they end up hating each other. There was chemistry between them but they refuse to acknowledge the feeling. Being force to be in each company, they began to let their guard downs and spark between them exploded. Deacon has been hurt in the past and he refuse to go down that route ever again and Nora has her own secret too.

It is a story of family, friendship, love and relationship that happened in a season of holiday setting. The plot is fun and engaging and overall, it is a quick read to me

Deacon and Nora are not exactly friends after one date and a ghosting, but their best friends/family are married and so they are constantly forced together. The two of them have a lot of chemistry and make a very cute couple, and the matchmaking teens of Simon and Jenna are adorable. It was a steamy, Christmas adjacent story which was a fun read.

The Christmas Sneak by Marie Harte is a cute contemporary romance between an ex-football star and his cousin-in-law. Deacon Flashman had been burned too many times, mostly by woman after his money, including his now, ex-wife. He had one date with Nora, months ago, but how good it had been had scared him and so he ghosted her. Somewhat awkward considering she was his sister-in-law’s cousin, and around all the time. Mitch and Becca were so in love it was nauseating sometimes. The baby was perfect, however, and her big brother, Simon, from Becca’s earlier marriage was a great kid. A great kid whose girlfriend, Jenna, saw that Deacon and Nora were perfect for each other, and they set out to make it happen.

Simon tricked Deacon into joining Nora at a weekend getaway where she was thinking about her future, about leaving town. Simon packed a duffle for him and hid it in the car, before convincing Deacon that she might need help, in the snow and all. Jenna has switched Nora’s bag so her comfortable clothing had been replaced by sexy things. They were all set. Would it work? It was a funny, and yet serious book about two people too afraid to get involved. They were perfect for each other and their avoidance was comedic. They figured it out on this weekend, but were still apprehensive. They were two regular characters, well written, who just needed to get over themselves. It was an entertaining, if not deep, book.

The Christmas Sneak is a cute, quirky, and funny. Nora Nielson and Deacon Flashman are pushed together, after their awkward date, by family. Deacon’s brother is married to Nora’s cousin, and they have a beautiful baby girl, Ava. Nora can’t get over the fact that Deacon ghosted her after their one and only date, and she ends up being sarcastic and snarky to him every time they are together. They have this witty banter between them that you can’t help but love. He finds it attractive she finds him annoying. Deacon has no idea how to fix things between them, every time he tries to say anything, he just ends up annoying her more. Its kind of hilarious.

Nora decides that she needs a break from everything and decides to go out of town, only Deacon’s nephew, Simon, and his girlfriend, Jenna, have other plans for them. Simon packed Deacon’s bag and Jenna packed Nora’s, pushing the two together. Simon suggests Deacon go to the cabin Nora is staying in and go check on her. They end up getting snowed in together, and fix everything between them and realize that even though they got off to a rocky start they actually do love each other.

This was a cute story it holds its own as part of a series and as a standalone which is great especially if you’re like me and started with this book. I recommend this book, it’s a cute Christmas read.

Marie Harte is a fan favorite and one of my personal favorites. I've been reading her for 15 years and this romance is just what'she's great at: romance, connection, and characters I love.

Thank you Netgalley for the free e-arc!

This was a cute/fun read, I do prefer abit more angst in my romance books but the characters were really likeable aswell as the side characters. Deacon was super cute from the beginning.

Enjoyed this book. Really well written, could literally see the words forming my own little head movie. Nora and her snarky sass were brilliant and amusing. Would definitely recommend this quick read Christmas gem
