A jazz singer on the run from her abusive husband finds a home at Jazz House and a love worth dying for. Jordan was a trapped canary, living in a loveless marriage to a ruthless Greek tycoon. She’s given a chance to escape and start a new life, so she grabs it and disappears into the night. She changes her name and applies at a new jazz club in America. She gets the job and instantly connects with the owners. She tells only small lies but it’s to protect them from her husband, if he’s still alive. At this point, she has no idea. When she meets handsome Michael, all her carefully laid plans evaporate. She’s drawn to him, yet she can’t trust him with her secrets. He’s a police officer and he’ll figure it out sooner or later. Just when she thinks she’s safe, her past barges in, vowing revenge. Can she protect the man she loves from death or has she put all she loves in jeopardy?

Jazz House is a riveting romantic suspense I couldn’t stop reading. Seriously, I started reading, thinking I’d only read a chapter or two, and wound up reading the whole thing. I connected with Jordan on so many levels. My heart went out to her so many times. She’s married to an abusive jerk and many times, I wanted to crush him for all the torment he caused her. Does he get his in the end? No spoilers here, so you’ll have to read this book to find out. The plot flows at a solid pace with equal time spent in the romance subplot and the suspense subplot. The writing is crisp, clean, and very immersive. You’ll get invested real quick so be ready. D.V. Stone named this series Impact and it’s clear to me why she chose that name. The hero/heroine had a strong impact on each other. I got emotional a few times while reading. Jazz House is a brilliant story, and these characters will stay with you long after you finish reading. Highly recommend!
