I looovvveeed this book. Absoloutely loved it! If Debbie Macomber is my favorite Christmas author, then Karen Schaler is my new second favorite Christmas author. This book was like a gigantic warm hug on a snowy winter's day. I adored the romance between Libby and Adam and would so enjoy seeing this story adapted into a Christmas movie on the Hallmark Channel or Netflix!

This Christmas book is cute but not for me. Lots of cute holiday moments but a bit slow. Beautiful setting, a nice holiday book.

I really wanted to love this book but I think it was just a bit too twee for me. While I do love Christmas Magic books this was a bit too much for me. It was a quick read and there were elements I did enjoy though and I think most that love this genre will delight in this read.

The queen of Christmas does it again! You can always count on author Karen Schaler's stories to be jammed packed with holiday cheer, but they don't skimp on an in depth story either. I always find it so mysterious, special and intriguing when an author uses a plot point of an old found letter (card). You might feel like this has been done before, but I promise it hasn't. It will warm your heart these two characters coming together and the community too. Give this one a shot you won't be disappointed!

My only quibble is the author does write movie scripts, so at times the dialogue can be a little redundant and clunky.

Thank you Hawktale Publishing + Netgalley for the copy.

I always love Karen Schaler's Christmas novels, I look forward to reading one every year! Love Always, Christmas follows Libby, who has always loved Christmas but this year it's hard as she lost her mum earlier in the year and is struggling to keep things afloat. She soon meets her new neighbours, and their handsome son Adam and things go from there. Most of the novel is set in Holly Peak, which is just the most gorgeous Christmas town I think I've ever read about and I really want to go there. This novel felt just like a Hallmark Christmas movie, and I could see everything in my mind's eye. It's packed full of Christmas fun, romance and secrets to be uncovered. I enjoyed this one and I recommend it!

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book. I have chosen to write this honest review voluntarily and it reflects my personal opinion.
I have read other Christmas books by this author and seen the Netflix films, and found them to be atmospheric, enjoyable and predictable romances. I thought that this story was far superior, with a few twists, even right up to the end. The characters are realistic and interesting with credible background stories, and there is a modern element to the story with inclusion of social media and hashtags. This is definitely above the level of some Christmas stories, from it's lovely cover to the last page, and would make a great start to a series or a tv film.

A lovely, cosy Christmas read. I enjoyed the setting and the characters very much. It was so heartwarming to find the main character had family after all and also managed to make a success out of her business just in the nick of time.

Heartwarming and enjoyable story that also includes a little mystery and a few secrets. Entertaining characters to follow as they weave through the clues to come up with the answers to secrets that are slowly revealed throughout the story. Wonderful interaction and banter between the characters. The holidays can add an unexpected twist to any story. Christmas especially. Good read.

Libby is planning to spend the holidays alone until a mysterious Christmas card takes her on a life-changing journey where she discovers a family she didn’t know she had and a love she was never expecting to find…

Libby Larson’s Christmas wish is to get the holidays over as fast as possible. After losing her mom, her only family, she’s bah humbugging Christmas, while desperately trying to save her childhood Seattle home.

But when Libby finds a twenty-year-old unopened Christmas card addressed to her mom, what she discovers inside takes her to the snowy mountain town of Holly Peak.

As family secrets start to unravel, Libby must rely on Holly Peak’s handsome town manager, Adam Thompson, to help her find answers while reluctantly participating in the town’s quirky Christmas traditions.

In the midst of merrymaking and mistletoe, Libby’s life is forever changed when this Christmas brings her the gift of a family and true love.

My Opinion

In the past year Libby has lost both of her parents and is therefore not feeling in her usual Christmas spirit even though the town that she lives in very Christmas focused. She is also in the process of setting up her own business and is therefore in a lot of debt and feels that she may have to move house. When Libby finds a Christmas card that had been sent to her mother, Libby finds that her family has been keeping secrets.

This was a lovely, festive Christmas read. Love Always, Christmas is about second chances and community coming together when needed. After reading this I can this being made into a lovely Christmas film.
