Grumpy/sunshine is one of my favourite types of books, add in small town and I’m a happy girl and this book gave me all that. Addy and Ace have hated each other since they were children but when firefighter Ace turns up at Addy’s to check something out he gets more than he bargained for. Ace can’t get her out of his mind, but she still thinks he’s the horrible boy she remembers, even if he is hot. When they end up teaching a first aid class together their conflicting lifestyles are a source of entertainment for the community, but they also start to see a different side to each other. Things heat up between them, but family complications and other pressures get in their way. Ace gets a kick up the bottom to force him to see what’s really important and does everything in his power to win back his girl. I thought Addy was going to annoy me at first but I grew to love her and I wanted to give Ace a hug and tell him everything was going to be ok. This was a fun, hot and quirky read.
