Mart writes about yummy cowboys but she has outdone herself with this one.
This book has everything! A mouth watering cowboy named Knox who says “ I can fix that.” Knox knocked me over. I drooled over him from the first paragraph.
He has a orphan calf that thinks he’s a dog and he lets him live in the house,
I said awwwww so many times while reading.
The Bouncing baby goats are precious. The usual antics of Tiny and Otis. The circus of animals was great, but Knox outperformed them. Oh, Carley is good, but my focus was on the delicious cowboy.
It’s a delightful read and I adored every word!

Salon owner and a deputy sheriff/cowboy!

The best thing salon owner Carley Chapman got out of her disastrous marriage and divorce from Paul Chapman was the building where her salon was located and her former grandmother-in-law Evelyn Chapman. Carley had avoided dating after her disastrous marriage and but things changed when Deputy Knox Garrison told her ex-husband that they were engaged when her ex-husband came back in town and tried to tear her down again like he did when they were still married.

I love pretend dating and fake being engaged stories because Knox did it to protect Carley from her jerk of an ex-husband and slowly breaking down her guard about dating.

Every Bit a Cowboy is the fifth book in the Creedence Horse Rescue Series but it can read as a standalone book.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This series is a lot of fun, can’t go wrong with cowboys and barnyard animals. She’s a beautician with a nasty ex husband. He’s a deputy and animal lover with a kind soul. Due to an unforeseen visitor to town the two come up with a hasty plan to be fake engaged, news flash it’s not fake for long. Theres a spark between them when an animal hasn’t squirmed its way in the middle. They have an easy banter with true feelings and sassy humor. Any book in the series can be read out of order, however previous characters make cameos and it’s easier to know how they fit together. I got to enjoy an early copy and proudly give my unbiased review.

Every Bit a Cowboy is the fifth book in Jennie Marts' Creedence Horse Rescue series, and it's a great addition to that series, which I've been following. It's a series I suggest reading from the start, if only to keep up with the returning characters, but it can be read as a standalone, and it gets 4.5 stars from this reader.

The heroine in this novel is Carley Chapman, who owns and operates Carley's Cut & Curl beauty salon--and she's having one heck of a crazy day as the novel opens. It starts with 2 furious clients brandishing scissors and a flat iron at each other, and her stylist going into labor, but who should come in to break up the melee? It's the fairly recent addition to the local police department, Deputy Sheriff Knox Garrison, and he's a hunk. Carley had met him several times at horse rescue ranch that has been the backdrop for this series. Not only does he break up the melee, but now that Carley is short-handed on staff, he pitches it to rinse and condition one client's hair.

It's clear that these two characters are attracted to one another, but the sad fact is that Carley made a bad choice when she married her now ex-husband, Paul, and even though it's been three years since she divorced the verbally abusive slimeball, she no longer trusts her own judgement when it comes to men. The only good thing she got out of her marriage to Paul is her ex-mother-in-law, Evelyn, who co-owns the building in which her salon is located.

The owners of the horse rescue are on their honeymoon, and Carley has agreed to move into the bumkhouse on the ranch and keep an eye on things. When those who were supposed to help her move get the date wrong, it's Knox to the rescue, and so their attraction begins. Knox is an all-around charmer of a great guy, and he too has loved and lost, so both he and Carley make several missteps along the way.

But the slow-building attraction between these two characters is just for starters, because who should roll into town but Carley's loathesome ex-husband, Paul, who's trying to get back into her good graces, and Knox eventually suggests to Carley that they should start a fake engagement to convince Paul that Carley has moved on, and that his attempts at reconcilation are futile. It's supposed to be a secret, but in this small town rumors fly faster than the speed of light, and within the hour, Carley's clientele is stopping in and congratulating her on her engagement, but Paul isn't buying it--yet.

What follows is a sweet, sexy, slow-building romance between Knox and Carley, and there are quite a few bumps along the way--much of it Carley's self-doubts about her own judgement, and Paul's nefarious reasons for returing to town. There are also some priceless, laugh-out-loud moments in this novel, many due to the amazing menagerie of hilarious creatures in residence at the horse rescue, some of whom we've met in previous novels, and now incluing the arrival of 8 adorable pygmy goat kids, and who could possibly resist them? Not I, that's for sure.

My only reasons for giving this novel 4.5 rather than 5 stars are that I would have preferred that Paul really get his comeuppance in public, rather than slinking off silently, and when we finally get to the HEA ending we've been waiting for, I had hoped for an epilogue that included an actual wedding, with all the adorable rescued animals in attendence. Otherwise, this novel was a delight for this animal lover to read, and if you're not already hooked on this sweet, small town series, you should start it now.

I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this novel. The opinions stated are my own.

Rollicking good fun!

Hot cowboy cop? Creepy ex-husband? Fake engagement? Goat yoga? Yep, this book has all that and then some - including a calf that thinks he's a dog. As we've seen in the earlier books in this series, these characters are all die-hard animal lovers and I am here for every last bit.

Determined never to be left behind again, Carley is trying her best to resist Deputy Knox's flirtations. But when he fabricates a little white lie to shut up her incessantly annoying ex, that starts the whole town clamoring for their romance. It doesn't hurt that he's so easy going and very easy on the eyes, and he's great with all the animals that are her new companions once she moves into one of the bunkhouse apartments at the animal rescue ranch.

There aren't a lot of surprises in this story, but the romance is more than swoony enough to carry us along. I always enjoy these trips to Creedence, getting to hang out with the assorted small town characters and watching the hilarious antics of the growing menagerie. The scene where Jillian finds out what's going with her sister was absolute perfection and I've rarely laughed so loud.

Carley and Knox have a very satisfying HEA and we're introduced to a few new characters who, I'm hoping, will be featured in their own upcoming book(s). I really enjoy this author's writing style and am looking forward to reading more in this series. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

We are back in Creedence where the cowboys are handsome and their women strong.
This time the story belongs to Carley Chapman, the owner of Cut & Curl, and Deputy Knox Garrison.
The attraction has been there since they danced at a recent wedding, but they both have been hurt by their past relationships and are not interested in getting their hearts broken once again.
When Carley needs help in moving and later not only her shop is flooded but also her ex shows up in town making demands as well as her uncomfortable, Knox steps up to help Carley.
As these two navigate through a fake engagement, an irritating ex and a menagerie of animals, feelings deepen.
Will misunderstandings have them going their separate ways with their hearts broken, or will they realize that they are perfect for each other and need to embrace their feelings?
Though I am still partial to a couple of the previous stories in the series, How to Cowboy and Never Enough Cowboy, this one was a good addition to the series.
It also gave this reader a chance to “visit” with some of the characters from previous books.
I was entrusted a copy of this book by Netgalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

I always look forward to a new 'cowboy romance' from Jennie Marts and this one definitely lived up to my expectations! This cowboy, Knox, is also the local Deputy. And he lives up to every ideal image of what an honorable man should be...although he's a little gun-shy from having his heart hurt by an ex who rubbed salt in the wound by taking his dog, too. Still, there's something about the owner of the local hair salon he can't quite resist.

Carley has had her own share of heartbreak, and she's hoping to never again see the dirt bag who did it. But when he unexpectedly shows up in town...right about the same time her salon, the fruit of her hard work and dreams, is flooded by broken pipes, it feels like too much back luck all at once. Until Knox comes to her rescue with an alternate location at the local Horse Rescue while the damage is repaired.

Knox can't resist the urge to protect Carley, but when Carley's ex just won't take no for an answer, Knox might have gone a little too far telling him they were engaged. Now they need to live the lie of their engagement in the hope of getting rid of the dirt bag. But what happens when the line between reality and the lie starts to blur? Well, with Marts we know it will be funny, sweet and loaded with her special style of country romance. Enjoy the read!

There's nothing quite like a cowboy.
No matter how swoony the cute cowboy is, romance is the last thing on Carley Chapman's mind. But it's hard to ignore Knox Garrison and the spark of attraction she feels every time he's near. When a water line break floods her building, she's forced to move her salon out to the Horse Rescue ranch, and Knox shows up to help. But things get even more complicated when Carley's no-good ex comes sniffing around and Knox "fixes" the problem by telling him they're engaged…

More rescues in this next installment! Carley and Knox seem to be a perfect fit, although Carley is against starting anything new and Knox is wary of getting hurt again. Paul is a douche canoe and Evelyn is just plain wonderful! Hearing Carley’s description of her perfect home made me sigh and agree wholeheartedly. That connection was perfect!

Carley Chapman runs the town beauty salon. Knox Garrison is the town deputy sheriff. Knox is attracted to Carley, but she is not interested in dating she has a divorce in her rear-view mirror and is commitment shy. Paul is Carley's ex-husband he shows up in town trying to win her back and Knox tells him they are dating and engaged. Carley and Knox decide to let everyone think they are and item. After spending time together, they finally realize there is something worth pursuing.
I have read all the previous books in this series and really enjoyed them all. Carley has moved out to the ranch and Knox owns his grandparents ranch so there are lots of animals to look after and take care of.

The h owns a beauty salon in town and the H is the town’s sheriff. The couple pretend to be engaged to keep the h’s ex from harassing her. They develop feelings for each other and the relationship gets more serious. Misunderstandings arise, but are eventually sorted out. I’d give this book 4.5 stars.

It's trope-y for sure but it's also got all the feels! Carly and Knox find there's more than friendship between them when he helps her move her salon after a flood and then when her awful ex shows up. Knox, the Sheriff, decides impulsively to say they're engaged and well, you know what happens next. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. Good characters and a cowboy vibe made this a fun read.

💭Thoughts:
I think I’m officially a sucker for a small town cowboy romance! This is my second romance from Jennie Marts and it didn’t disappoint. This was the fifth book in the Creedence Horse Rescue series, but can definitely be read as a stand-alone.

This was such a sweet, funny, light hearted romance. I found myself completely endeared to all of the characters. The story is a bit cheesy at times, but honestly how can it not be! It’s a romance about two broken people who love each other and a bunch of farm animals. There is a goat, a calf, a cat, and a few dogs that share Carley and Knox’s bed at night.

Read if you like:
❤️ Small Town Romance
❤️ Fake Dating
❤️ Hot Cowboys
❤️ Cute Farm Animals
❤️ Fun Banter

I’m looking forward to reading more from Jennie Marts in the future!

This is the first book I read by Jennie Marts and I can promise you I’ll be reading more!

Sure, the story was great: Carley’s building floods, and she’s forced to move her salon out to the horse rescue ranch. Her ex-husband is in town and things get complicated. While her ex and her divorce have made her feel less than, Knox takes it upon himself to make sure that she never feels that way again. Their pretend engagement is received with great excitement around town: everyone loves both Carley and Knox. Carley finds a way to run her business at the ranch and the town rallies behind her.

What I loved most about the book were the characters, you immediately like all of them, except Paul, the ex, of course. The story moved quickly, it was fun and lighthearted and very entertaining. Can’t wait to read more by Jennie Marts.

Disclosure: I received an ARC from the publisher, Sourcebooks Casablanca. All opinions are my own and I will also post feedback on Goodreads.

I loved being back in Creedence and the Heaven Can Wait Horse Rescue Ranch. This time the story follows hairdresser Carley Chapman and Deputy Knox Garrison. After an initial attraction when they danced together at a wedding, it takes a flood in her salon and her not so nice ex to turn up for them to reconnect. Both have been hurt in the past and have trust issues, but when they begin a fake relationship is there the chance of it becoming more real? It was good to catch up with the residents of Creedence and of course the various animals! This has a bit of everything and is very steamy in places! Can’t wait for the next one in the series. Thank you to Jennie Marts, Sourcebooks Casablanca and Netgalley for the opportunity to read this in exchange for an honest review

Lovely story and great addition to this wonderful series, which I have enjoyed reading so much!

In order to accept love you need to be open to trusting another person and believe yourself worthy of love. That is a bit difficult if past relationships left you damaged, but there is always hope for a brighter future.

This is story of how Carley and Knox become a couple. It is emotional, funny, and a bit heartbreaking at times. Since this is a romance book, I know that whatever happens, the ending will be happy. That is why I read Romance as my go-to genre. I want to escape the world where the outcome is not certain, and often times not happy.

I have read this entire series and love each and every book in it. I love the small town, the many residents and animals I have met in the books. I believe this is the last book in the series, and while I will miss this town, I know the author, Jennie Marts will create a new series that I will fall in love with.

I want to thank NetGalley and SOURCEBOOKS Casablanca for giving me the pleasure of reading the advance reader copy. My review is my own opinion not influenced by receiving the ARC.

This is my first book from Jennie Marts. I am so glad that I requested it based on the description because I really enjoyed it and look forward to reading more of her books.

Here we meet Carley and Knox, two people who do not want a relationship. Circumstances lead them to have a fake relationship that quickly becomes a fake engagement to keep Carley’s ex-husband away. Join them as they fight the attraction, while pretending to be a couple. Their journey to the HEA was so much fun that I couldn't put the book down.
.
Ms. Marts has given us a story that's heavy on heart, humor, steam and let’s not forget the rescued animals that are that made me smile by their antics.

Thank you NetGalley, Jennie Marts and Sourcebooks Casablanca for the ARC of this book which I voluntarily read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Publication date: 3/7/2023

I loved this book. I enjoyed the flirting back and forth between most of the characters. Carly and Knox especially. I love the scene at the beauty shop when the ladies were talking to Knox.

As usual, Jennie Marts has put together an awesome story that I think you will enjoy. Check it out, you will be glad that you did.

Life can be full of great surprises!! I want to move to the town of Creedence and meet my own cowboy. I have loved this series from the beginning and the stories just get better. Knox and Carley are the perfect match. From their previous heartbreaks that left there marks to them getting together “for real” I couldn’t look away. This story was engaging, realistic, loving and sometimes heartbreaking. And all the crazy, misfit animals in this book was a great addition. Also, can’t wait for the story regarding the new mysterious cowboy that just showed up on the farm.

Every Bit a Cowboy is a wonderful addition to Jennie Marts Creedence Horse Rescue series, and one that captures your heart early on. An easy-to-follow storyline and characters that feed the readers need for fun, excitement, and sext times too! Throw in some interesting animals and a baby, and you have it all. This is definitely the type of story I describe as “feel good” and it certainly didn’t disappoint delivering loads of laughter, chemistry and small-town antics which made this a thoroughly enjoyable read.
