This book was perfectly cute and sweet just like the first in the series. A wonderful cozy read perfect for readers who want to just settle in and read for fun!

Scout and Lane have decided to get a divorce after five years together, but only one month of knowing each other. Confusing, right? Trust me-it is worth the read in order to understand. Through their divorce, Scout and Lane both find closure on past hurts as well as new beginnings and a better understanding of who they are. Oh, and there are a bunch of cute dog stories thrown in the mix!

I received this book free from NetGalley in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion.

I LOVED this book. It started off a little underwhelming, but then the slow burn and a rekindled love captivated me. Not to mention it's a book centered around dogs - count me in!
I couldn't put this down and the main character, Scout, was beyond relatable. Childhood traumas and familial expectations are a doozy, and just because someone (Lane) seems all put together, there's always more underneath than what appears.
Scout needs to prove herself to her boss, her family, and most importantly, herself.
Lane is addicted to work because, oh yeah, he's married to Scout but hasn't seen her in five years!
Such a fabulous rom-com that leaves you vibrating with joy.

Book two in a series. Can be read by itself but if you’ve not read the first you miss out on the background of the friendships and the business which are big parts of this book as well. Quick read, classic rom com. Can see this becoming a trilogy with the third friend in the group getting her own story as well.

3.5 Stars I haven’t read the previous book in this series (The Dachshund Wears Prada), but I loved Pets of Park Avenue! This was a really sweet second chance romance between estranged husband and wife, Lane and Scout.

After accidentally dyeing a client pink, pet talent manager Scout needs a stand-in for an upcoming photo shoot quick and her only hope is her estranged husband and his dog. Lane hasn’t seen Scout since she walked out his door five years ago after they’d only been married for a month and had a whirlwind wedding in Vegas right after they met. He’s surprised to see her after all this time and asking to use his dog, Star, to help save her job. Scout especially needs the help because working a steady job means she’s closer to getting custody of her thirteen year old sister, Lizzie. Though their romance was short lived, it was intense, and neither can deny that those feelings are still there. Despite initiating their divorce proceedings, both wonder if there might still be a chance for them to make things work.

I love second chance romances and this one did the trope justice. The pets were a fun addition, especially their wacky names and antics. The HEA was a perfect cherry on top.

Scout Myers works at her friend’s talent agency dedicated strictly to animals. She wants to prove she is responsible enough to care for her sister. An unfortunate accident at work almost destroys Scout’s chance at a promotion. She needs to find a temporary doggy replacement and fast. However, the only replacement who resembles her client belongs to Scout’s estranged husband. Scout knows she needs to confront their unsettled past if she wants to succeed. Can she win guardianship of her teenage sister? Or will Scout’s insecurities set her up to fail.
Lane Halliday is a tech entrepreneur, who runs a successful multimillion-dollar company. He has dedicated his entire being to work. Lane receives a shock when his estranged wife knocks on his door, asking to borrow his dog Star. Scout’s return brings a slew of problems and bittersweet memories. Lane reluctantly agrees to her request but with restrictions. Being around Scout again reawakens his old feelings for her. Can Lane and Scout settle their differences for a possibility at a second chance? Or will he proceed with the divorce proceedings.
Scout is such a relatable heroine. She is a woman with self-confidence issues and insecurities. I admire Scout’s steadfast determination to better herself. She never had much positive influences growing up, except for her best friend Isla. Scout owns up to the many mistakes that she has made over the years. What I adore the most about Scout is her sense of selflessness. Her life may be a mess, but that does not stop her from helping people, especially strangers.
Lane has this hot nerd vibe. He is neither alpha or beta, which makes him such a nice change of pace. Lane is a man who likes to adhere to rules and responsibilities. I like how Lane never allowed money or success to go to his head. He remains humble, willingly helping those who are important to him. What I adore the most about Lane is how he openly accepts Scout. She may be his opposite, but he never once considered changing her. Lane likes how she balances his perfectionist nature.
PETS OF PARK AVENUE is the second book in Stefanie London’s dog-oriented contemporary series, PAWS IN THE CITY. This story can easily stand alone. There is no ongoing, intricate back plot. I do recommend reading the previous book to understand the bond Scout shares with her friend Isla. Isla, the heroine from THE DACHSHUND WEARS PRADA, plays a great supporting role throughout this book. It is disappointing that Theo and Camilla did not play a more vital part. They are merely mentioned. However, it is great to witness that continual happily-ever-after.
PETS OF PARK AVENUE is a sweet yet positive tale that proves it is never too late for second chances. I sincerely hope the author writes a story for August! She deserves a happily-ever-after. I cannot wait for the next installment.

this book was really cute ! i liked scout but missed isla. the romance WAS good. i just don’t think the second chance romance was for me.
i also have to say it felt really quick and weird, the pacing somewhat didn’t make sense to be honest.
this isn’t my favorite book but i’m still excited if august’s book if it’s one day written!

This is the second book in the Paws In The City standalone romance series. This time, we get to learn more about Isla’s best friend and co-worker Scout. Scout is thrown back together with her first love when she needs a favor in the form of borrowing his pup for a job. Scout and her ex, Lane, have a complicated past and relationship – many things were left unsaid, many things left up in the air… The favor throws them back into one another’s orbit and makes them both realize they need closure – and they both might not be as over the relationship as they thought.

This was another fun, cute romcom – I went through the whole book in a day. I was definitely hooked early on. This one had a second chance romance I could get behind and really root for – I loved Scout and Lane together, and especially liked seeing how they had both grown apart and could grow together. Star, the little bichon frise, was definitely an adorable addition – I love a book with a key animal sidekick. (My only wish would have been to have some bonus Camilla cameos 😉)

A perfect, easy read for a low key afternoon. I hope we have more books to come from the series and can’t wait to see what’s next – maybe a HEA for August? Thank you to NetGalley and HQN Books for the opportunity to read an early copy. All thoughts and opinions expressed are my own and freely offered.

Second in this sweet, fun series. This story has all the feels and laughs, I fell for Scout and Lane, who start out at a rocky disadvantage, then work their way to adulting and making the most of their past mistakes and misunderstandings. A well written book, consider grabbing the whole series, both are great enjoyable reads.

This was such a cute rom-com! It was a little slow at times, but it is most likely because I didn't read the first book first.

I am a sucker for a cute cover and have enjoyed this author before. It was a sweet read, I think I just struggled to feel invested or connected because of the somewhat rushed / unrealistic moments in the story line. Thank you for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This book is the sequel to the Dachshund Wears Prada book, but this time it was focused on Isla’s friend, Scout who we also met in the first book. Sadly there is only one or two mentions of the dachshund.

This book was definitely cute, but predictable. You knew exactly what was going to happen from the beginning. I found it kind of annoyed we barely got Isla at all in this story! But then Lane and Scout grew on me. Scout hating herself though and the inner monologue supporting that was so exhausting. Comments such as: “How many nights had we sat in this exact place, drinking scotch and listening to music?” Well you apparently only knew him for a month so it’s not hard to count the days.

If you enjoyed Isla in the first, you only get random mentions of her in this one. I would have liked a perspective where there were chapters from Isla and Theo’s perspective. This book is also spicier than the first.

I would not be surprised if there was another book with these characters focusing on their friend August. I hope that if that happens, there are chapters dedicated to the perspectives of Isla, Theo, Lane and Scout. Their stories are intertwined so I don’t think it would be confusing or out of the ordinary. Thanks NetGalley for the Arc!

Who doesn’t love a book with dogs?! This is such a charming and sweet book that I absolutely loved! I felt the story line was unique and interesting and it kept me interested the whole time I was reading. I felt the characters were so relatable and I loved the slow burn of the romance. I kept anxiously anticipating when/if they were finally going to get together!

Though the ending seemed somewhat rushed, I did enjoy how everything was wrapped up nicely. This is definitely a fun and entertaining story! I urge any pet lover to get this book!

Dog lovers unite! A feel good romance with characters who are as flawed- and likable - as we are.

Scout must ask her soon-to-be-ex-husband for help with a pup replacement. Along the way, they realize that they may both still have feelings for each other.

It's a fun rom-com. I like both characters. Love the cute animals of course. Exactly the type of books that I like for a relaxed weekend....

Thanks to the publisher for the arc.
