Thank you netgalley and publisher for the opportunity to read and review this arc honestly.
I'm in the middle on this one. I like this author's work normally and this wasn't bad, but there were a few parts that weren't the clearest and took me out of the story. The ending also felt a bit rushed but that's common for this genre it seems.

I wanted to shake the main character the whole time and ask her WTF she was doing!!!! I love Kathryn Croft's books and this one was right up to par! Loved it!

A compelling read, very claustrophobic at times but highly gripping. I couldn't stop reading it and enjoyed it a lot.

This was a strange read. I want really enjoying the story and yet I felt compelled to continue reading to find out the outcome.

I found it quite confusing, and was grateful when I read another review starting she was in a mental hospital for some of the narrative as this wasn't clear.

The ending was ok and did clear up some of the questions but it did feel a bit rushed

Once again she’s killed it. An unputdownable thriller that thrills and surprises at every twist, taking you on a suspenseful journey you won't want to end.

Olivia Taylor has recently spit up with her husband Carl after eleven years together. She is hoping to start a new life with her nine year old daughter Ellie.

When they move into their new apartment she is lonely and keen to make new friends, so when she meets Michael she hopes for a friendship, but the sparks fly and soon they are in a relationship. Olivia has no idea that her life will be turned upside down by this choice.

It was like watching a car crash about to happen and you cannot stop it. I was screaming inside for Olivia to open her eyes and see the giant red flag!!

This was a slow burner for me. I love Kathryn Croft's books but this was not my favourite one.

Thank you to Netgalley for my copy in exchange for an honest review.

A twisty novel.

Although I’d guessed the big reveal, it still felt shocking to me when the truth was revealed.

I whipped through this story because it was so interesting and compelling. However, the ending did feel a little rushed.

I did not realize that this book is a reprint of a previous book, just with a different name. Really don't know why authors do this, as I've already read the previous version, Behind closed doors. This book was well written, and thrilling until the very end. Recommended, again.

A earth shattering thriller that I could not believe. The twists are wicked and will leave you wondering what just happened.

Not one of my favourites
But I read it to the end
A slow burner but keep reading
Thanks NetGalley

This book didn’t really hold my attention, the characters didn’t have much depth and I found it hard to be completely invested in the story, my mind wondered and it lacked tension! An easy beach read maybe?

This was my first book by Kathryn Croft and I will try another but this one was a little difficult for me. On the one hand I wanted to keep reading to see how the story played out but on the other I so badly wanted to shake Olivia, the main character in the story, that I found it hard to keep going. As the story unfolded all I could think of was that it was like watching a train wreck you don't wanna watch but you can't look away. Olivia did not make the best choices. I did enjoy the writing style and will add Kathryn Croft to my authors tbr.

This one is a slow burner, and if I dont connect with the characters it really affects my rating. I found it to be repetitive and way too much sex.

I wanted to enjoy this read but I found it frustrating. The main character missed every red flag and find that unbelievable. I really struggled to finish.

Thanks to Canelo and Netgalley for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Olivia is separated from her husband Carl, and moves into a new flat with her daughter Ellie. Her neighbor upstairs Michael, is aloof at first but then they begin a relationship and Olivia feels off and on that the relationship is doomed because Michael is aloof, into rough sex, somewhat abusive, doesn't have much of a rapport with Ellie and constantly has his crazy sister Chloe stopping in and periodically staying over.

There was no point to this book. It was totally repetitive. Olivia suffering some abuse from Michael or dealing with Chloe's baggage, wondering about the viability of the relationship and staying with him despite all of the drama. I kept reading thinking there would be some explosive reveal at the end because we know Olivia is currently in an institution of some sort. Then I was at 99% and the whole thing wrapped up in a page and it was a surprise I guess, but nothing to justify the hours I spent reading this. I really like this author and her first book was the only book of hers that I had missed. Turns out this was the first book retitled I think this is a bad idea by publishers. If this was the first book I picked up from this author it would have been the last. Her books are so much better now. I look forward to her next one.

I was lucky to receive an advance copy of The Neighbour Upstairs by Kathryn Croft from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for my honest review and opinion. Great book that once you start you are unable to put down. I really enjoy Kathryn's writing style as it pulls you in from the very first page and holds your attention to the very last. I would recommend reading this at the first chance you get.

I struggled with the point of view and the use of ‘you did this’ and ‘I look up to see if your lights are on’. It was really off-putting. I understand the effect the author was trying to create, but for me, it didn’t work and affected my enjoyment.

The protagonist made questionable choices, and she seemed to become obsessed with her neighbour. It was a good exploration of rebounding after a marriage breakdown, but sometimes I felt uncomfortable.

I also wished the mother-daughter bond between Olivia and Ellie was more developed. I felt nothing towards them and it was like they’d just lumped Ellie into the story and hadn’t bothered to work on the relationship.

Sadly, not for me. Thank you to netgalley, the author and publisher, for a chance to read and review this book.

This has an interesting cast of characters that carry the story along a nice pace and create depth to the story. Great plot and I found myself filling an afternoon reading this in one sitting as I found it so enjoyable. Hated Olivia and was shouting at my kindle! Thank you to Netgalley, the author and publisher for an advanced copy of the book in exchange for an honest , unbiased review. 4 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I didn't realize until I was halfway through that I had previously read this book under the title 'Behind Closed Doors'. I really enjoy Kathryn Croft novels but typically this was my least favourite read probably why it took me so long to realize. This book is very repetitive and had a lot of unnecessary sex scenes.
