Great to be back at Goodwill House and catching up with Lady Harcourt, Liza and Joe ,the twins, and all the other characters from the previous book. This story followed a group of land girls, specifically Sal, Charlotte and Daphne. There was also some love interest for Lady Joanna Harcourt, although worries over her mother in law Elizabeth’s memory was hinted at. It was Sal’s story that seemed to be the main focal point with why she had signed up as a land girl and so desperately wanted to escape the East End and a man called Den. Good to read a book that concentrated on a different aspect of the war. I thoroughly enjoyed this and could easily visualise the house, village and farms. Well described characters whose personalities really showed.

Love catching up with the residents of goodwill house and reading all about the new characters that came to stay, love sal one of the new girls and how she joins the land army in the hope of escaping her violent ex who has vowed to hunt her down and kill her and how she finds unlikely friendships with all who live at goodwill.
Also loved reading how lady of the manor Joanna finally finds true love however fleeting it is for her, I'm hoping that her and her lover John Sargent reunite at a later time as she truly deserves happiness.
Can't wait to read the next in the series of all at goodwill house.
Highly recommend this book

Another great instalment of the Goodwill House series and yet again it didn’t disappoint. Lady Joanna has taken in the land girls among them Sal, Charlie and Daphne. Sal has joined to escape her violent ex Den. Can she get away from him and make a new start. Great story and I’m eagerly awaiting the next instalment ⭐️

Back at Goodwill House and Lady Joanna is still showing her warmth to the working girls on the land. With a lovely mix of characters, from different backgrounds and upbringings. Sally stands out in more ways than one, brining unwanted attention to herself. In Charlie’s case it may not be unwanted.
I enjoyed that we got to see a different side to Lady Joanna this time. Joe and Liza are really blending into the family unit.
Will this be the last of Goodwill House? I hope not.

Such a good book it ended far to quickly.
The story of sal is a good one as unfortunately back in the day a lot of the seat end girls were used like she was in the beginning I'm so glad it all ended good for her.
I wish Joanne could find someone to love her.
Thank you for an excellent book

The Land Girls of Goodwill House is the first book I've read in this series. I love historical fiction but I am not a fan of romance novels. Having read quite a bit about Britain's Land Girls I was hoping this would be a book focused more on their responsibilities, backgrounds and personalities.. Instead, this novel was more of a romance novel augmented by how people survived during the Nazi bombing of their village and surrounding areas.

The budding romance between the Joanna and the firefighter was obvious from page five. Sal's friendship with her roommates didn't feel natural. The only Land Girls the reader meets are Sal, Daphne and Charlotte, aka Charlie. I would have enjoyed knowing something about the other nine in their group. Finally, the relationship between Joanna, her mother-in-law, adopted children, staff was, at times, just unrealistic. Everything Joanna did wound up with perfect results which, in my opinion, is simply not possible.

The Land Girls of Goodwill House is a nice book with a "feel good", happy ending vibet running throughout the story. Even the most horrendous of circumstances had positive outcomes.

This is such a cute novel about the Land Girls during WWII. I loved the character development throughout this novel and really felt as if I knew them by the end. Great story, easy to read and definitely a hit!

This book was sent to me by Netgalley electronically for review. Thanks to the publisher. Historical fiction…intriguing…friendship…family…love and romance…war time life…back-in the day…hardship…wondering what would happen. This is a book by a talented and gifted author. Life as they knew it changed forever. I liked this book..
The characters are likable…the setting adds to the story…enjoy.
