A set up so brilliantly thought out by two struggling young adults. When one person in the pact decide to pull out naturally blackmail and suspense follows.

I enjoyed this story, it has quiet a bit of a twist just after the half way mark. Shalini's story telling is rich and wonderful and it keeps you engaged. I do wish it was a little longer as some of it felt a bit rushed.

Overall a good story with good thought out characters and will keep you invested until the end.

Thank you Netgalley and Bookouture for this ARC up for republication.

THE MILLIONAIRE'S WIFE by talented Shalini Boland is a highly recommended complex, addictive tale of deceit and obsession. Trust no one! A richly atmospheric and thoroughly riveting, well-written, twisty psychological suspense thriller—I loved it!

Psychologically rich, an exploration and thoughtful look at how even the most innocuous secrets between happy couples and beloved friends can turn DEADLY.

My first book by the author, and I cannot wait to read more of her future books and her backlist!

I listened to the audiobook in one sitting—UNPUTDOWNABLE! The narrator Katie Villa delivered a superb performance! I enjoyed her voice and will be looking for more audiobooks narrated by her.

Oh, how I DESPISED Fin (ex-boyfriend), and oh, how I LOVED Will! (current husband)

These two guys are opposites, and Anna is in the center of this triangle. But wait, there is a fourth, her best friend. Where nothing is as it appears.

In Anna's earlier years, she was drawn to the "bad boy." Listen up, girls, never get serious with a "bad boy!" They are trouble with a capital T and not worth the roller coaster ride.

Her parents wanted her to go to university, but she met Fin over the summer. Fin lived up to that bad boy description. After they were together, she saw he was unmotivated, complained about money, was irresponsible, despicable, and always tried to devise "get rich" schemes. Because he is too lazy.

He works at a surfer shop, and they live in his father's garage. Anna works all the time, but it is never enough. She is in a constant state of fear. Fin does nothing to help himself. They had no money, which her parents had warned her to stay away from, but she did not listen and put her dreams on hold to be with him. Controlling and manipulative.

Soon Anna realizes her mistake. Can she escape this man? Fin came up with all kinds of plans and even wanted her to be an escort (she is beautiful) to get money or a proposed plan to marry rich spouses and murder them for their money.

Of course, Anna wanted no part of this when she found herself pregnant, and of course, he told her to get an abortion, she finally left him and started a new life. THANK GOD!

Years later, she meets a nice, wealthy millionaire, Will. He is the BEST in every way, and she truly loves him, and they have a happy life.

However, her safe and beautiful life now is in danger. One afternoon at her husband's birthday party, she receives a disturbing email. This email from Fin could destroy her life and marriage. She is afraid to tell Will because she does not want to lose him, but thinks she can handle it. But then things get out of control. Her past has come back to haunt her, but no fault of her own. She is dealing with a psychopath. Also, someone else is lying.

Fin is a blackmailer and stalker and pure evil. . His wife was recently killed in a boating accident, but was it an accident or murder?

Will and Anna must do everything they can to escape harm's way. She must tell Will about her past and confess —when it comes to protecting their new dog, its safety, and their lives.

In a fight for survival, Anna must decide just how far she’ll go to escape the person she once loved.

Hold on, there is yet another twist to be revealed toward the end, which is jaw-dropping. Trust me, you must read this book.

Compelling! A propulsive journey through a winding maze of secrets and lies, leading to a jaw-dropping twist that I never saw coming. Loved every minute.

I devoured THE MILLIONAIRE'S WIFE. If you are in the US, and fans of authors Mary Kubica and Kimberly Belle will enjoy this one. The plot twists, well-developed characters, and unpredictable ending make it irresistible. The writing is superb.

A special thank you to Bookouture Audio and NetGalley for an ALC in exchange for an honest review.

Anna Blackwell has a past, but she is really loving her current life with her husband Will a millionaire!
But everyone has their secrets and the one that Anna wants to talk to Will about on his birthday party might be a turning point in her life. As she is making up her mind to reveal the secret she has been hiding, she receives an image which alters her plans
Her past seems to be catching up with her present, and the past really want to ruin everything for Anna.
As Anna is still trying to figure what is happening, and what her next steps should be their pet dog gets food poisoning - this forces her to take action.
Although this book was gripping, I felt that the character of Anna could have been a little more sensible in terms of making her decisions (especially in the past)

I thoroughly enjoyed the narration by Katie Villa, thanks to Bookouture Audio, Shalini Boland and Netgalley for approving the ARC listen.

I have never been disappointed by a Shalini Boland book, so when I saw this audiobook was available on NetGalley I jumped at the chance. True to form, this book is an edge-of-your-seat psychologically thriller that will keep you engrossed from start to finish.
Shalini Boland delivers a twisty, intriguing tale featuring everyday people to who you find it easy to relate. This wife is full of surprises and as the story unfolds you are left enjoying the author’s creativity. I love Shalini Boland’s work and find her books a relaxing escape.
Anna finally has the life she has always wanted. She escaped a troubled past, met the man of her dreams and is enjoying everything about her life. When she least expects it, she receives a test from her ex-boyfriend. Finn is back, and with him, he brings Anna’s past crashing into her present. But Finn is dangerous, and he is threatening her husband. Who can Anna turn to? Can she save her husband’s life?
This book managed to keep me entertained from start to end. It delivers twist after twist and as the secrets come spilling out you find yourself clinging to the edge of your seat.
Anna Blackwell moves from nice, to suspicious to someone you are rooting for. Her secrets all come tumbling out, revealing her vulnerability and just when you think she is going to give up, you see a woman full of strength and determination. You must love her, there is no other option.
Shalini Boland never disappoints and if you are used to her books you will love The Millionaire’s Wife. It’s a clever creative story that will keep you flicking pages (or listening to audio) late into the night. Another title that has cemented its place on my loved list for the year.
If you enjoy a twisty psychological thriller, then you will not go wrong by reaching for this title. It’s a brilliantly engrossing read that you will not want to miss. If you haven’t yet, add this one to your TBR. You will not be disappointed.

This book starts with a bang and makes you get hooked from pages one. The dual timeline slowly gives you more information of the past which I love. It provides continuous suspense and I couldn’t stop listening, finished it within a day. Loved the unexpected turns, although I did see a few coming. Overal a really quick suspenseful read.

The Millionaire’s Wife is well written with detailed description. The intrigue builds slowly initially and then twists and turns until the very end. I had the good fortune to listen to the audio version. The narration by Katie Villa is brilliant. I thoroughly enjoyed it! I look forward to reading or listening to other titles by Shalini Boland.
Thank You to Bookouture Audio and NetGalley for the opportunity to listen to and enjoy this audio ARC.

First I’d like to thank St. Martins Press and NetGalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I really enjoyed this book. The story is about Ana, the millionaire’s wife and it has twists and turns…I gasped out loud! You think you know where the story is headed, and you’re wrong! Do we really know the people we love? What secrets do they keep? What secrets do we keep?
Ana is happily married. She sees a news report about the tragic death of a young woman. Shortly after, she receives an ominous text message, you’re next. What does it mean? Who is it from? Great thriller, great twists!

I thought this book was quite different than I imagined. Certain things happened, and I was left with some assumptions that just weren’t correct. I thought the main character was savvy. There were some things where you think, “that would not happen” or “why would you do THAT” but you love it anyway because it’s sensational. I thought the ending was lovely. The flashback/forward was well done and all laid the ground for important information. I never thought the author was wasting my time. Thanks Netgalley and Bookouture for the ARC.

Title: The Millionaire’s Wife
Author: Shalini Boland
Audiobook Narrator: Katie Villa
Publisher: Bookouture Audio
Genre: Psychological Thriller
Pub Date: September 19, 2022
My Rating: 3.5 rounded up!

The novel was first self-published by MS Boland on April 27, 2017 and has being re-issued by Bookouture,

Story alternates between 2002 Past and 2017 Present and revealing Anna’s romantic relationships.

This story begins in 2017 with a couple on vacation in Barbados. The wife spots some dolphins and goes for a swim. Then there is a terrible accident and she is hit by a speeding boat. Her husband Fin is devastated.
We find Anna Blackwell receiving a gruesome photo of a dead woman and it states ~ you are next!
Anna dated Fin Chambers the most popular guy back in high school: things didn’t work with them. She is now happily married to millionaire Will Blackwell but the text she got reminds her of a big secret she has been keeping.

This is my eighth Shalini Boland psychological thrillers; I started with her thrillers and never read any of her vampire novels. This novel was first published back in 2017~ it seems it was a time she was moving into the world of psychological thrillers!
I really enjoyed her recent psychological thrillers ~ I honestly wasn’t expecting much from this early story. I was pulling for Anna.. so kept reading!

I soon found that it had the making for a good psychological thriller.
 Twists and turns!
 Unlikeable nasty mouth characters!
 Many secrets!

It ended up much better that I expected even though I am not a fan of the nasty language.

Want to thank NetGalley and Bookouture Audio for this re-issued uncorrected advance review.
Re-issued Publishing Release Date scheduled for September 19, 2022

What a twisted web of lies and deceit!! But I loved it, this is what makes a truly good psychological thriller!

I enjoyed the writing and the story. The past and present views were necessary to understand the characters in the book and the reasons why they acted the way they did. Overall I really liked the audio, the narrator did a good job and the storyline was good as well.

Shalini Boland has done it again with The Millionaire's Wife......a great story, believable characters, and some major twists....put this on your To Read list.

Anna has a secret or two, and her past is coming back into her life threatening to change everything.

Thrillers are always a hit or miss, as many storylines are retold over and over again. That’s not the case for this book. The premise was unique and gave some interesting turns.

I especially appreciated how this book didn’t have a spouse turning on another spouse, as many marriage thrillers are. The tension the situation placed on the marriage was warranted but I liked the way things turned out and the relationship ultimately prevailed.

Shalini Boland has done it again!

Fun popcorn thriller!

My first Shalini Boland book and I'm going to be looking for more! This is an easy read, fast-paced with good suspense. The characters aren't that likable but it works for the story.

The Millionaire's Wife is told with two timelines, ten years apart by Anna, a Swedish girl/woman living in the UK. She meets Fin, a bad temper yet charming surfer boy. Against her parent's wishes, Anna skips going to university and moves in with Fin. Life as a young couple isn't as glorious as they first thought. They struggle financially and Fin has all kinds of crazy ideas to get rich. And I mean CRA-ZY. When Anna got pregnant things went from bad to worse.

Fast forward to present day, Anna is happily married to a nice millionaire guy, but secrets from her past are resurfacing and will ruin her perfect life.

Some secrets are so unnecessary. But I guess you need secrets to have a juicy story! I enjoy this pacy book and it has some good surprises. I had a different expectation about the ending, probably because of the book cover (don't look if you plan on reading it!!) so when that didn't happen, I was a bit disappointed. Overall, a fast and enjoyable thriller. 3.5⭐

💗🎧 I enjoyed this audiobook read by Katie Villa. I do wish there was some Swedish accent for the MC, but that's okay.

Thank you Netgalley for providing me with a copy of the audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

What a crazy ride! I was on the edge of my seat for quite a bit of the book. Some of the twists really left me shocked and I do think this is an author I would like to read more from.

Anna is happily married to the man of her dreams, who also happens to be a millionaire, when she receives a text message with a picture attached of a dead woman and the message "you're next". Because Anna hasn't been entirely honest to her husband about her past, and now it's all about to catch up with her.

This was an entertaining story and the narrator does a very good job of reading it, but on so many occasions throughout the story I found myself facepalming at why Anna did the things that she did - a lot of them were fairly stupid considering she was meant to be an intelligent woman living a privileged life. As the story unfolded it became even less plausible, with the decisions some characters were making being pretty nonsensical, although I can't give examples without spoilers.

Suffice it to say, I mostly enjoyed this book, but I enjoyed the last two Shalini Boland books more.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture Audio for gifting me the audio ARC of this thriller by Shalini Boland and wonderfully narrated by Katie Villa - 4 stars!

Anna is happily married to Will, living the life she never dreamed she would. Then she opens a text and her past comes crashing into her life. Anna knows she must tell Will all her secrets but she knows that will destroy her life as well. Who can she trust?

Shalini Boland always writes an intriguing thriller that grips you until the last page. There were plenty of twists and turns plus an interesting plot. Told through both past and present timelines, we see how Anna's ex, Finn, manipulated her and how it's all coming back to haunt her. Some of the story strained the bounds of reality but I was still all in. I believe this is a rerelease of an earlier Boland novel - she is definitely on my must-read author list!

I enjoyed the short chapters however i didn't enjoy the narration and the story fell flat for me i wanted more

This was my first Shalini Boland book but it won’t be my last. I love the way the writing flowed and kept me invested in the story. I couldn’t wait to see what happened next. The issue for me was with the characters and what actually happened. The characters were annoyingly stupid, especially Anna, and made me want to smack them around (I’ve always thought if a writer can make you feel this strongly about characters, it’s a true credit to their writing). The situations themselves were farfetched and unlikely to actually happen so great writing was ruined by fantastical situations. I will be reading more of Boland’s books and hope they are more rooted in reality than this one.

It seems I read this some time ago… I recognized the author but not the title. Umm it sure why it’s onnnethallwy now I’d it’s been on hoopla.

This is a dual timeline story where we meet Anna as she is dating her first love Finn and then later on while she is married to Will, the millionaire. Anna and Finn struggled as young lovers to make ends meet and Finn hatched a plan, but did Anna go along with it?

This one is a twisty domestic thrill, but I didn’t buy into some of the twists or the plan Finn conjured up. I will leave it at that to avoid spoilers. It was an entertaining enough listen, but nothing that will stay with me for long. I did enjoy the opening of the book and then bouncing between timelines. I thought the structure of it worked well.
