I’ve never read a Sue Watson book that I didn’t rate 5 stars and this was no exception!! Captivating from the very first page, I’m glad kindles are waterproof because I literally couldn’t even put it down to take a shower! I was doubting EVERY character and even when you think the big reveal has come you get hit with another one.. and the another.. and then holy $hit one last huge one! Loved loved loved it!

To start with what I didn't like about this book and it was the cover and title. Its very misleading, i believed it woudl be about a small child gone missing, one who was perhaps taken from her cot, especially with the title but it was nothing like that.

I first saw this book being talked about online and went to find it at the bookstore to find it wasn't yet published. I enjoyed a lot of the book but some parts were a little disappointing, too drawn out and unbelievable in places. However, it was a quick read and a good page turner, i really wanted to get to the end though and find out everything as i had guessed a lot despite the many twists and turns.

Sue Watson never disappoints. She has so many twists and turns in her books that I usually read them in 2 sittings or try to sneak in quick reading breaks when I can throughout the day. The Nursey was no exception and i read the book in 24 hours.

Oh my goodness what did I just read! Sue Watson you are brilliant. The Nursery is definitely my favourite Sue Watson book to date. I know I say that about all her books but I really do mean it this time! 😅The Nursery is one of those books that starts with a bang and ends with an explosion! My heart and mind almost couldn’t take it.

Emily is a single parent to teenage daughter Sofia. They live in the seaside village of Sidmouth, East Devon where they live a quiet and private life. But now that Sofia is a teenager and overly acquainted with social media, Emily fears the private life they used to lead might be threatened. Fearing that secrets from her past might be exposed. Emily’s worst fears are confirmed when she discovers that Sofia has been talking to an online stranger called Pink Girl. Emily assumes her past has finally caught up with her and that her husband, aka Pink Girl, has finally tracked them down.

Let us jump back in time 12 years when Emily first arrived in Sidmouth, in the middle of the night during a storm. She had a very sick three year old Sofia in her arms and little else. You see Emily was fleeing her home in Manchester where she lived with her husband. She just up and left in the middle of the night, leaving everything behind. She new she had to leave in order to keep her daughter safe and ensure that no one took Sofia from her.

The Nursery was a brain teaser, it twisted my mind and had me on edge. I was antsy as I wanted to know what Emily’s secret was. I thought I figured it out but no, Sue Watson was just messing with me. I absolutely did not foresee the crazy plot twists but was absolutely gobsmacked by the major twist at the end. A serious cliffhanger. Of course now I can’t turn my mind off trying to figure out what could possibly have happened. I am hoping and praying that Sue Watson decides to write a sequel to put me out of my misery. I’ll be thinking about this cliffhanger for a long long time.

Thank you so much Sue Watson, Bookouture and NetGalley for my e-arc in exchange for my honest review.
ps Sue Watson please write a sequel!!!

I went into this book with high expectations and I was a bit disappointed. The book was a bit too repetitive and unbelievable at points. I don’t know I just didn’t feel like it was for me

This is my second Sue Watson book ever, I loved it! It started off slow, but I am so glad I kept going because it got so good, and I eventually flew through the chapters. The ending definitely catches you off guard, but that is what makes her books so interesting to think about, that you can't stop thinking about the ending for days.

I always hugely look forward to Sue's books and so couldn't wait to get started on this one!

The story begins with Emily and her teenage daughter, Sofia who have recently moved from up North to Sidmouth to escape their troubled past. Having settled in their new seaside resort, suddenly Sofia begins acting strangely and sinister notes start arriving. Emily fears that someone has discovered her secret, which could ruin everything she holds dear.

I loved this book and was immediately sucked into the intriguing, slow building suspense. Sue has such a clever way of writing that leaves you not knowing who you can believe or trust and throughout, there's a definite underlying menace that kept me eagerly turning the pages.

I half guessed part of the back story, but just when you think everything has been explained, the author throws in yet another twist, which left me reeling!

A brilliantly written, tensely plotted thriller, which I highly recommend to all!

Thanks to author Sue Watson, publishers Bookouture and Net Galley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

The Nursery is about a woman who lives alone with her teenage daughter. Her daughter starts speaking to someone online and the mother has suspicions that this person is now who they say they are. I won't spoil any of the twists because I found it really unpredictable which is what made it great!

Quick british mystery read. I think there was too much thrown in for the twists. It wasn't just A or B, it was A through Z. Made it a little unbelievable how many things a person can go through.

Oh wow what a page turner this was! I thought I had it all figured out but the twists kept coming right up until the end which was a jaw dropper for me!

This is a tale of not knowing who is a friend or foe, the usual teenager growing up drama, and a mother desperately trying to keep a secret and protect her child in the process. There was not a dull moment in the story at all and oh my gosh that ending...... WOW!

There were times I wanted to yell at Sophia to listen to her mother before she got hurt...listening to folks on the internet. She was quite snotty at times to her mom and I felt so badly for Emily because even though she was keeping things/secrets from her daughter it was purely out of love.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this copy in exchange for my honest thoughts.

Sue Watson books are always a good read and The Nursery was no exception. Shocking and throwing a bunch of twists our way, I could barely put this one down. The plot of the story was revealed slowly throughout the book and the secrets were so cleverly concealed. I was kept guessing about so many things until the very end.

This was such a fun psychological thriller, but I’m having a hard time thinking of anything I can actually write in my review that won’t give away something spoilery! Just go read it. 😄

You realize from the beginning pages that something sinister is amiss, and you know that Emily has a past that she is afraid of. However, you do not fully comprehend just how twisted this plot will be until you get further into the book. The twists just kept coming. Emily has an adopted daughter, Sofia. She has never told Sofia she is adopted, and you know that she is hiding from her ex-husband, but you do not fully understand the desperation of the situation immediately. Someone has broken into her house. She feels someone is watching her house, and finds evidence that leads her to believe someone is watching the house. This leaves the reader flipping pages. to find the next twist and trying to solve the mystery. I found the ending a bit lack luster it could have been a little more suspenseful but the continued unveiling of secrets and the lengths that people go to protect those they love is mind bending. Definitely worth the read with the original storyline and twists.

Thank you Neutrally, author and publisher for the opportunity.

Thank you to Bookouture and NetGalley for providing me with a copy of The Nursery, by Sue Watson, in exchange for my honest review.

In The Nursery, written by Sue Watson, a single mother is on the run from her past, living a normal life with her teenage daughter. Only the past hasn't been so normal for neither mother nor daughter, as page by page we come to find that everything is not what it seems, and never was. This gripping read is chock full of twists right up the the very last page!

Some of the characters were likeable, some not so much. As a mom who would do anything for her children, I found Emily's character relatable. I also found Sofia's erratic moods relatable to my own experiences with teenagers with regards to issues and attitudes that were sometimes quite similar to those of Sofia's. On the other hand, I found Emily's friend, Nancy, overly intrusive, rude and ridiculous. Emily's tolerance of Nancy, often at Sofia's expense, frustrated me, coming from a woman who was being portrayed as such a devoted mother.

Overall, The Nursery was an exciting read, and I highly recommend it for all thriller lovers! 4 stars!

This is a story filled with drama and emotion. It also has some unexpected twists.
Not one of her best books, but it still held my attention to the end.
Thank you to Bookouture and NetGalley for this ARC.

The story started fairly well, but seemed repetitive …when the mystery was unravelled I was a bit surprised, and the final twist was interesting. I felt I didn’t get very sympathetic with any character

FAVORITE THING ABOUT BOOK: A thriller that makes you feel the tension jump off the pages.

PROS/CONS OF WRITING: The story keeps a high level of intensity throughout. Emily finds herself in a pit of troubles but doesn’t trust her friends to help her out. She gets herself in further and further problems. It is an enjoyable read and one the reader will have difficulty putting down. There are plenty of surprises and the characters are multi-layers. Emily is a very nice woman. Other characters are evil. The problem is figuring out who is which. I love Sue Watson’s books and this is one of her best.

WHO WOULD ENJOY THIS BOOK: Mystery lovers; Fans of Sue Watson.

I received an ARC from Bookouture through NetGalley. This in no way affects my opinion or rating of this book. I am voluntarily submitting this review and am under no obligation to do so.

I simply can't find the words to describe what a fab read this was!
It was beautifully twisty and sinister. It was certainly a keep you up all night reading book!
I loved reading about the dynamics between mother and daughter and the flashes of what landed them in the situation they found themselves in.
The ending absolutely blew my mind! Just when you think it's all tied up ad you're winding down, another cracker of a twist sends you into a spiral!
Another brilliant thriller from Sue Watson, perfect thriller, that I devoured sooo quickly!

I really enjoyed this book and it was a rollercoaster of twists and turns! I really felt for Emily for most of the book whilst I found Sofia occasionally to be too typical a teenager to like all the time (this isn’t a creation but rather excellent writing!) and as the story continues you understand why Emily did what she did.

What I enjoyed most though was the twist at the end which came after you thought the twist had already happened! I’ll definitely be reading more of Sue Watson’s work in future.

Sue Watson has really excelled herself with this gripping psychological thriller! A story that is shrouded with secrecies, lies and half truths.

Emily is a woman in her early 40s, living alone with her teenage daughter, Sofia. From the outset we learn that Emily is hiding, presumably after a less than amicable breakup with Sofia's Dad. Emily works in a perfumery, with her best friend, Nancy, working next door. Emily falls for a handsome stranger who comes into the shop, making extravagant purchases. This appears to be the only thing going well in Emily's life, as her relationships with both Sofia and Nancy become fractured, in additional to this, some threatening communications arrive, making Emily feel her carefully balanced house of cards is on the verge of collapse!

There are so many twists and turns in this book, and the ending is beyond genius!!I Lots of very unexpected but expertly constructed happenings that I could not get enough of!

This is a book I would highly recommend to fellow fans of psychological fiction.

My thanks to NetGalley, author and publisher for the opportunity to review this book in exchange for an advance copy.
