I thoroughly enjoyed this latest Sue Watson book. It felt different to her previous books, but think it may be her best one yet.

The Nursery was fast paced with many twists and turns. A single mom has run away to a seaside town with her daughter to escape her past, however that past has caught up to them.

Everytime I start reading a book by Sue Watson I know its going to be a great book. This book started off a little slow and dull but the ending tied everything together very well and made reading this book totally worth it. Sue watson is such a great writer and is so talented when it comes to storytelling. The storyline isn't exactly what I expected when it comes to the title of the book "the nursey" it is a tiny bit miss leading. All in all I really enjoyed it. Very likable descriptive characters. Even the not so likable characters it was easy to sympathize with. I'm really excited for Sue watsons future as a writer because I believe she is a very talented author. Thank u for sharing your beautiful mind with us Ms. Watson. You are so appreciated!

For me personally I found this story to be more of a mystery and not really as thrilling. Regardless this was a fun read. It was very mysterious and had many exciting twists and turns that I did not expect which kept it exciting. The Author, Sue Watson definitely has a gift for engaging you, the reader and keeping you guessing as to what is coming next.

Emily thought she was living the dream, a husband, a child and a very promising future for them all. To her surprise everything changed in an instant and Emily found herself & her little girl Sophia moving to a new town, starting a new job and making new friends. But the cost was very high. Emily has a past which is preventing her from getting to close to anyone.

I do recommend this book if you love mysteries with twisty & exciting plot changes.

An excellent read. Another book that was gripping. I couldn't work out who the bad guy was. But was very twisty in the storyline. 5*****

I loved the premise but unfortunately just couldn't get into it: we were in Emily's thoughts a lot, which I felt slowed the pace quite a bit. Having said that, it was well written and the story itself was gripping and interesting. I'm sure others will love it.

Thank you to NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read this book.

Emily and her daughter moved from Manchester to Sidmouth many years ago. Emily was running away from her old life, and the danger that came with it. Everything rolls along wonderfully, with Emily thriving. Regardless, Emily always feels she has to be careful and to constantly look over her shoulder in case the ghosts from her past come back to haunt her. One day, something unusual happens that puts Emily on high alert. This starts a chain of events that finally bring everything to a conclusion.

Another great book from this author. The story is cleverly written, with some shocking twists in the mix. The characters are all well written, and all likeable and relatable to a degree. An excellent read.

Another gripping read by author Sue Watson. If I am honest it didn’t grip me in the same way as many of her previous novels but she has set the bar so high.

Then: Morning light shines into the nursery, casting shadows across the pale pink walls and wooden cot in the middle of the room. She opens the door expecting to hear the soft coo of her daughter Sofia stretching herself awake. But the room is silent. The cot is empty. Her little girl has vanished…

Emily lives alone with her teenage daughter Sofia who has started to have issues at school. Once the star pupil but recently has had a few problems causing her to get in trouble at school. She’s started asking questions about when she was a baby, but Emily won’t tell her. Twelve years ago Sofia went missing but she must never know the truth, nobody would understand why Emily did what she did, and if anyone ever found out, she could lose her daughter forever.

Apart from Sofia having problems at school, she has started to become very secretive. When Emily catches Sofia messaging a stranger online, her heart rate rises as she reads the last message received, your mother isn’t who you think she is.

Days after seeing the message Sofia vanishes again causing Emily to shudder as she remembers that night in the nursery. Is the truth finally going to be revealed and is she already too late to save her precious daughter?

I would like to thank both Netgalley and Bookouture for supplying a copy of this novel in exchange for an honest review.

Trust no one, suspect everyone.
I love Sue's writing because you can never guess who is the baddie.
Emily and her daughter Sophie have lived in Devon for 12 years after running away from her husband and life.
Just what is she running away from? And is the past about to catch up with her?
I thought Emily was a little too overprotective as Sophie was fifteen she was going to rebel against her mother.
Emily's friend Nancy was a nightmare and a drama queen. They both had secrets which made their friendship a bit superfluous.
There were plenty of twists and turns to keep you turning the pages.
A really enjoyable read.

I received an arc copy of this book from Net Galley in exchange for my honest opinion of it. I really did not enjoy this book and felt like it moved really slow. Emily lives with her daughter,Sophie, and you find out from the very beginning that she is on the run and has lots of secrets. The ending has a twist but I didn't feel like it added much more to my rating of it.

I wanted to really like this one and it start off strong with the mystery of what is Emily’s true past and what happened to her daughter?! I had this belief that Emily was going to be a strong protector momma bear but she ended up pretty docile and her decision making made me question her sanity a bit. I get wanting to protect your child but maybe it’s just me who would get my claws out for my children and do literally anything for them, she seemed to want to have that mentality but the way she lived was meh.

Emily has a teenage daughter named Sofia. Emily ran off with her daughter when she was little to escape some sort of dark past that she doesn’t want to ever come face to face with again. She starts feeling watched and they have a break in and her worst fears are coming to life as she thinks her past has come back to haunt her. You are then lead into snippets of what happened and the truth of characters. She has a best friend who is completely unlikeable and really irritated me because even though she was dealing with very important family stuff she wasted time on being too kind to others. In the end, the one person I truly adored the whole time was made out to be a crazy person but I kind of found it endearing haha pretty sure that’s not how I was meant to feel.

Thank you Bookouture and netgalley for the arc in exchange for my honest review.

12 years ago, a young baby is taken from her nursery. The woman who took her is now raising the child as her own child. Present day, the child is a teenager and asking questions about her childhood. The mother is keeping secrets and scared to tell the teenager about her past. The teenager begins to act out in school and starts communicating with strangers online. At the same time, someone is threatening to expose the woman’s past to the child, by breaking into the house, leaving cryptic notes and breaking the bond between the mother and the teenager. Convinced that her mom is lying about something, she turns to her new friend for comfort. This works out perfectly for the new friend because their goal is to reveal all the secrets and blow up the mom’s perfect life.

A mystery that really fell flat for me. I had high hopes for this one, but I had a hard time getting into and understanding the authors writing. The plot seemed very disjointed, and the chapters ended stilted and awkward. I loved The Resort and will continue to read her books, but this one didn’t do it for me.

This isn't the first book I've read by this author so I was very excited to check this one out. The plot of this one alone really called out to me as a reader. Our main character Emily is a single mother with a teenage daughter named Sofia. Things are a little challenging for her but she makes it work and her and her daughter are happy with no real problems between them. Or so Emily thinks. Emily had always tried to keep her daughter happy and that meant leaving her husband and running so he would not be able to find them. Things take a terrible turn when sophia is caught messaging a stranger. I really enjoyed this thriller and I found the plot to move very quickly in some parts. There were so many twists in this story that it really kept you guessing. While there were so many good parts the only thing I didn't like were some parts were super drawn out and felt irrelevant to the rest of the story.  Great read and I couldn't wait to get to the end to figure out who our mystery stranger was and what they really wanted. When the story got its bearings it took off like I flash and I found it impossible to put down because I had to know what was going to happen. The plot and the realism of the characters really made this a book that lots of people will be able to connect to in the real world. The best part was the ending it left me flabbergasted even when I thought I knew it all already I was thrown a huge curve ball. There was so much to this book that it hard to fully talk about however I will say that this was a great read with a plot that only kept going up and I'm very glad I got the chance to check it out.

This really what I wad expecting and was unlike most other domestic noirs I've read but I did still enjoy it. It took a while for me to get into it but I'm a person who prefers plots that are led by events and this is more character driven. The writing was really good and realistic and I loved that the characters were all so well written and they could piterally be the family next door. There were a fair few twists and turns which actually just shook my little world but yeah, im sure anyone who likes character driven domestic noirs will love it
