Rowan is a single mom to a moody teenager, her workplace is full of toxic masculinity, and she's spent a good part of the last decade getting over her ex-fiancé, who she's only recently stopped fooling around with now that he's found a new girlfriend.. The holidays are hard this year, as money is tight and her daughter will be spending Christmas with her dad, so Rowan feels less-than festive. However, her three best friends have organized something special for her this year - an advent calendar with a twist. They know she's too impatient for an actual advent calendar and would open it all at once, so they're sending her a package each day, and she's falling for the delivery man, Alex.

The beginning of this book started off a bit slow and lots of setting the scene, but it began to pick up about halfway through and I had a hard time putting it down! The main character was easy to feel for - being a single mom is tough, especially around the holidays, and especially when your job sucks as much as hers does. And her ex sounded like he sucked, so it made me sad she was hung up on him because she had that little self-worth. Alex was cute and had some chapters told from his POV, but I wish I got to hear more from him and get to know him better, a lot of his character was written a bit more mysteriously than Rowan's. I was also hoping for more Christmas magic, and there was some, but the book was more about the season of giving, friendship, and love than it was about Christmas.

This one had so much potential but ended up falling flat. Or it could just be the fact the how banking on the whole asking Santa for a boyfriend. unbelievable. I'm one of those people that stopped believing in Santa at a very young age on my own. So I find these stories hard to believe.

DNF 25%

I can't remember the last time I disliked a book's heroin this much. The entire first 20% of this book is Rowan complaining about every aspect of her life.

She also compares herself with every single woman. She comes in contact with her friends, her ex's new fiancé, even strangers, and then complains. Every woman is prettier and younger and wealthier and takes better vacations then her.

She hates her car and her job. Everyone at her job is out to get her.

Rowan continues to sleep with her ex-husband DESPITE THE FACT THAT HE'S IN A COMMITTED RELATIONSHIP.

I couldn't keep reading.

This is the perfect Christmas romance for the season.

Rowan is a single mom who doesn’t want to spend another Christmas alone. Her friends come up with a advent calendar to help raise her spirits. The delivery driver is the same with a Scottish accent.

This book is a super slow burn but I loved it!! I loved reading a book about a couple in their mid thirties since it was way more relatable to me then a couple in their twenties. And Christmas in London!! I need to book a trip asap as it sounds amazing.

I was drawn into this story and loved the concept and the adventure Rowan went on not to just find love but to refined her self confidence she had lost after to split with her daughters dad.

I will be picking up more by this author.

As snowflakes fall like icing sugar, I smile at him and feel an unmistakeable spark. And I realise I don’t just fancy the (taut, muscular) arse off this man – a man who probably doesn’t even know I exist – but I actually like him…

This Christmas, Rowan has a long list for Santa:

To get her sex life out of the Sahara

To stop being the lonely singleton in her friendship group (aka the prime target for blind dates that go horribly wrong)

To find out where her confidence went (note to self: check under sofa)

To have someone to curl up with this Christmas, other than a tin of Quality Street

But having had more than her fair share of heartbreak thanks to her ex – with more off-agains and on-agains than Rachel and Ross – she’s starting to think that real love is just wishful thinking…

But Rowan’s friends aren’t so quick to give up, arranging an advent calendar to help get her spark back. And while the gifts make Rowan feel festive – glittery bubble bath, anyone? – what she really wants to unwrap is the guy who delivers them, Alex. With his soft Scottish accent, infectious grin and blue eyes as twinkly as fairylights, Rowan wouldn’t mind finding him in her stocking this Christmas…

Rowan has no clue how to put her heartache behind her and get his attention. Is she brave enough to open the door in mid-December wearing nothing but her new sexy lingerie and shiny lip gloss? Are twenty-five days enough to get her mojo back or will she have to send a strongly-worded letter to Santa after all…?

This totally addictive, fabulous and feel-good romance will give you ALL the Christmas feels this festive season! Perfect for fans of Emily Henry, Sophie Kinsella and Beth O’Leary.
One of the best romances i've read! Couldn't stop laughing throughout the book.

I actually really enjoyed this latest offering from Sophie Ranald! It was fun, flirty and festive, definitely getting me in the Christmas spirit.

Down in the dumps single mum Rowan, meets twinkly blue eyed delivery driver Alex, when her lovely group of friends (featuring Abbie from P.S I Hate You) organise a very special, one of a kind advent calendar surprise for her.

Firstly, I wish somebody would organise a gift like this for me it sounds EPIC. Secondly I have a lot of love for Alex our romantic hero. Thoughtful, hardworking and generous what is not to like?

This is great, easy read from Sophie who's books are always humorous and realistic. A good helping of warm and fuzzies washed down with a few little twists along the way.

With thanks to Bookouture/Netgalley for the ARC

I am a big fan of Sophie Ranald and was excited to be given the opportunity to review her latest book. And it did not disappoint! Firstly I really liked Rowan from the start and her friends are exactly the kind of friends everyone wants. Alex was great and the nice guy that Rowan needs, and the slight twist about how everyone is connected at the end tied everything up neatly!

The plot and the Christmas theme was perfect for this time of year but I would happily reread it again in summer!

This is a fun slow-burn romance with well drawn, quirky characters
Rowan has been having a tough time. She’s a penny pinching single mom with an angsty teenage daughter and an ex-husband who falls in and out of her bed. He’s engaged now it bothers her that he’s spending a lot of money on his new fiancée.

Rowan has a fantastic group of friends who are like family. They give her an advent calendar, before Christmas, filled with all kinds of cosmetics, perfumes etc. Her friends know her very well, and they know that instead of opening a door every day she’ll open them all at once so they emptied out the contents!

Instead, they arrange a delivery every day. The delivery guy is good looking and flirty, and Rowan looks forward to her daily present. Neither of them is sure how the other one feels, but they’re both very happy once they work it out.

I think the daily delivery calendar is a wonderful idea! I liked this book a lot, 4 stars.

It's November and in London, Christmas has already started. Carnaby Street is full of lights, Oxford Street is full of excited shoppers and everybody is busy making plans.

But Rowan isn't feeling it this year - her daughter is a teenager now and isn't in the mood for milk and cookies anymore, the temp job she took while her dream job was on hold is becoming less temporary and now her ex, the father of her daughter, is getting married and leaving her trailing behind. But at least she has one constant in her life - her friends. And they've come up with a plan - their very own advent calendar, one delivery every day that will make her happy and maybe get her back in control of her life.

Rowan and Clara can't wait to see what happens - and neither can Alex, the delivery driver who has suddenly become very invested in watching this Christmas Mystery unfold …

"Christmas suddenly felt full of excitement and promise - and I knew that my friends would enjoy the journey as much as I would. But I don't think any of us realised just how bumpy the ride would be."

Sophie Ranald is indisputably feelgood royalty - and this book is just another reason why. This festive story is not just about learning to love Christmas, but learning to love yourself all over again.

This story about a potential budding romance between two strangers invested in a Christmas Mystery is sickeningly sweet and romantic, and despite you thinking you know exactly how it's going to unfold their relationship but the electricity between them sparks in the most unexpected and beautiful ways. And as much as we're all here for a love story - it's so much more than romance. The love between Rowan and her friends is mesmerising - women all taking care of each other and showing the real love that friends can have for each other, and even showing the love that remains after something ends.

Rowan, Clara, Alex and her wonderful friends were amazing - they ran the story, the plot and growing alongside them - they were endearing, funny and painfully relatable. At first I didn't think me and Rowan were going to get on - I thought she had the potential to be a little annoying and way too focused on her dating life (or lack thereof) - but underneath it all she's just a person who wants to love someone.

When we're not walking in a winter wonderland, Ranald talks about important issues that women face all year round, not just at Christmas - the struggles of women in the workplace, the balances and sacrifices they're expected to make and the assumptions placed on them.

Heartfelt, funny and fabulously festive, Sophie Ranald delivered a wonderful story all wrapped up with a big shiny bow.

Rowan is a struggling single mother. Her workplace is toxic, her daughter is a teenager, and she has spent the last decade unwisely fooling around with her ex-fiancé. As the holiday season approaches Rowan does not feel very festive. That is when her three best friends decide to make Rowan their own version of an advent calendar. For 24 days Rowan will get a delivery sent by them, to bring her joy, and hopefully get her in the Christmas spirit. Rowan soon begins to look forward to these daily deliveries, but not because of the presents, because of the handsome and mysterious delivery man, Alex, who drops them off.

This book started off a little slow, but the second half of the book really picked up the pace and it became harder and harder to put down.

I felt for the character of Rowan. She was single mother, around Christmas, dealing with parenting a teenager, hating her job, and stressing about how to put food on the table, let alone splurging on things such as Christmas presents. Her ex was not my favorite, he definitely lived in his own little world.

Alex was a likeable character, but I do not feel that you really got to know him the way that you get to know Rowan. While some of the chapters are told from his POV, his character is written in a very mysterious way.

Even though this book is all about giving and love, it still was not as Christmasy as I had expected it to be. I did however enjoy that it was set in London.

Overall I rate this a 4 star. Still a cute and well written book. Just not one that I personally fell in love with.

This book made my heart all fuzzy, warm and ready for christmas time! We follow Rowan and her path to new found love, in a truly unexpected way. Also. I´m super jealous of her friend group, even though they are not always together, the way they care for each other is really nice to read about. And the way that they contributed for the romance is so weirdly funny. Who knew you could find true love through receiving random gifts everyday till christmas. Alex and Rowan are perfect for each other, and you´ll agree if you read the book too. The mood, the vibe, everything. A true Christmas Wonderland.

"Meeting my eyes for a moment then breaking into a grin, like delivering my parcel was the best thing that had happened to him all day."

A soft festive story!

This story focuses primarily on the struggles of our female lead. It follows her as a single mum, stuck within a difficult job and a confusing love life. I felt that the romance was not the dominant genre but more a story in which a woman was re-finding herself and romance so happened to be a factor in that.

I would have liked it, from the romance point of view, if the story would have been stronger between the female and male lead. I would have enjoyed it if there could have been a stronger focus on the male lead to allow for a greater development of his character and therefore a better romance between the two.

I did enjoy the love expressed between the female lead and her main friendship group. I was lovely to see a strong friend group and the ways that they will treat and express love to each other.

Thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture for the eARC, I am voluntarily leaving a review.

Another winner from Sophie Ranald. Delightful dialog, winning plot and characters, a few laugh-out-loud moments, and a heroine for whom you can’t help but cheer. Perfect for a chilly afternoon on a staycation.

I am a sucker for anything Holiday related. This was a sweet, cute book that I did enjoy reading. There was the struggle of being a single mom in this book but also highlighted the importance of good friendships. It really does take a village and I loved seeing that in this book.

Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book!

Sophie Ranald is BRILLIANT!! This is another absolute gem and one that has had me full on laughing out loud.

Once I started this book, I knew I wasn’t going to be putting it down anytime soon. I devoured this in just one sitting.

Ranald has really delivered with this book and I have to say, it’s definitely delivered.

Rowan has been a brilliant character, I have definitely felt as though I have known her. As a reader, it is impossible not to become fully invested in her and want good things for her.

This is a book guaranteed to make you feel Christmassy and also make you full on belly laugh.

This has been entertaining and a book that has really lifted my mood.

I absolutely recommend this book to everyone.

Thank You for allowing me to read and review this arc. This was definitely a slow burn romance book that is set in London and who doesn't love a romcom set in the UK. This deals with a Single Mom trying to find her career as well as a love life. She has a wonderful set of amazing girlfriends that shower her with love everyday until Christmas. I loved how she developed her self growth and realizing she is amazing and worthy enough. I would recommend anyone give this a read this Holiday reading season.

Cute premise - group of gal pals trying to cheer up Rowan with a daily Christmas advent delivery. (Not me hoping they were scheming to set her up with Alex that whole time also). But unfortunately the positives kinda end there. This had a very odd 1st person POV from the heroine and would then move to 3rd person POV from the hero and not to mention, there wasn't a single spark or hint of chemistry between the main characters. The lack of information on the hero makes it seem like something super shady is happening and you never really learn backstory of his temporary job. The possible illicit activity with the heroine's workplace seemed a little out of place for what was supposed to be a holiday romcom. The reader sees the FMC having more chemistry with her ex than the intended MMC, I mean what was that about? Hate to say it but I was rooting for Paul for most of the story because that's what we saw the most of and I wanted them to be able to work it out.

While this was a quick read with magical London Christmas setting (I mean how could you not love this kind of backdrop!) there wasn't any substance to hook the reader and ultimately the story fell flat. I will say though it did make me want to experience all these Christmas markets in London, something to add to the vacation list!

Thank you Netgalley and Bookouture for the ARC in exchange for my review!

Oh I absolutely adored reading this? It was thoughtful and clever. I became the main characters friend and forgot this was a novel. That says volumes about the writer. So much so I’m back to find another one of her books. Brilliant book that will give you all the feels and put you in the Christmas spirit!
