What a debut thriller! I love the unreliable narrator trope. Missing memory. Lost identity. The plot & storyline were strong. The characters were authentic and you felt a connection to them. I loved the suspense of this one. Will definitely be looking forward to more from this author.

Five years ago, Wanda Delles, was pulled out of the Wisconsin River. She was unconscious, suffering from a gunshot wound and pregnant. She has no long term memory and feels like her life isn’t her life. She’s struggling to get by and take care of her daughter.

One day, Wanda sees a news report about Claire Stanbrick, a woman that went missing around the time of Wanda’s accident and is presumed dead. She happens to look a whole lot like Wanda. Jack Stanbrick, Claire’s husband, is currently in prison after being convicted of her murder but the body was never found. Wanda starts to question if she is Claire and if so then Jack is innocent. As she tries to uncover the truth of what really happened and who she is she faces new danger.

I thought this was a great debut and look forward to reading the second book when it’s available, You Belong to Me.

Thank you to NetGalley for my ARC. This is my honest review.
This thriller is just… wow. This started when a woman is fished out of the river and comes to find out she is pregnant. This is a memory loss trope. If you want a good thriller where you are on the edge of your seat this is the book.

This was a page-turning thriller that had me constantly guessing about what was going on. It contains alternate timelines and point-of-views, and I found myself drawn slightly more to Wanda's chapters just because I wanted to know what the heck was going on and enjoyed discovering things alongside her. The Claire chapters were, of course, important for tying everything together in the end though.

Overall, an enjoyable thriller that kept me on my toes. Apparently this is the first in a series as well, so I look forward to reading more.

I enjoyed this read. It was a little predictable at times throughout the storyline. Overall a good quick thriller

Wanda Dellas is living someone who else's life, ever since an accident stole her long term memories. Working a dead end job and barely making ends meet while taking care of her daughter, she sees a news report about a missing businesswoman named Claire. Claire looks a lot like Wanda, and she went missing around the same time as Wanda's accident. Claire's husband Jack was imprisoned for her murder but Wanda feels he is innocent and develops feelings for him.
This book was great and I liked the alternating timelines of past and present. The present was Wanda's life and the past was Claire's life. Overall this was a great quick read. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for advanced copy.

This thriller takes you on a wild fast-paced ride trying to figure out who's who and whodunit. Told from the viewpoints of Claire before and Wanda after, the story keeps you guessing until the end and its satisfying conclusion. The good news? This is Book One and I can't wait for the next one!

I was very impressed, perfectly structured and so moving. Clever, thought-provoking, evocative. Loved all the action and was second guessing the outcome.

Brilliant story.
Who’s that girl? After being fished out of a river in small-town Wisconsin, Wanda Dellas is lucky to be alive – yet, she can’t help but feel like something’s wrong. In “Forget Me” (Speaking Volumes, August 22, 2022), the debut psychological thriller from Lisa Sherman, dark secrets of the Midwest are about to be revealed. Wanda Dellas is living someone else’s life: that’s the sense she’s had since an accident robbed her of her long-term memory. Barely scraping by, Wanda cleans offices at night in order to support her young daughter. She tells herself that anyone would believe they’re meant for a different existence. Yet she can’t shake the sense that she’s missing something—and that the past she’s been told belongs to her is not the whole story. Claire Stanbrick’s photo is all over the news. A missing businesswoman who’s presumed dead, Claire bears a striking resemblance to Wanda. After learning that Claire went missing around the same time as her accident, Wanda embarks on a journey to uncover the truth about her past. Yet with each additional clue she uncovers, Wanda faces new dangers that threaten her life . . . or is it Claire’s?
Read it

This book will keep you guessing at the turn of every page. Claire Stanbrick, a wealthy marketing business owner, is murdered by her husband, Jack. ...or was she? Wanda, a poor mother with a young daughter, is convinced that she is in fact Claire and she will do whatever it takes to prove that Claire is not dead and take her life back with Jack.
This story will lead you through the lives of Claire and Wanda and where their paths cross and who is in fact the woman who is alive.
I can't wait for the next one

✨Forget Me by Lisa Sherman✨

Genre: Mystery
Pages: 303
Series: Forget Me Not, Book 1

📚 Wanda Dellas is living someone else's life: that's the sense she's had since a mysterious accident robbed her of her long-term memory. Lost and barely scraping by, Wanda cleans offices at night in order to support her young daughter.

Then Wanda sees a news report about a presumed dead businesswoman, Claire Stanbrick. Bad enough that Claire bears an uncanny resemblance to Wanda. But it turns out Claire went missing around the same time as Wanda's accident, too. Plus, she can't shake the sense that Claire's husband Jack, who's serving time in prison for Claire's murder, is innocent. And she's beginning to develop feelings for him. But which feelings are real and which are just figments of her fractured memory?

Answers to the past often come at a price.

As Wanda learns more about Claire, she realizes Claire didn't have the picture-perfect life Wanda imagined . . . a fact someone following her is determined to keep a secret. And the more Wanda discovers, the more she faces new dangers that threaten her life . . . or is it Claire's?

📚The story is a case of unknown identity - a woman with amnesia trying to piece her present life together while attempting to remember her past.

The plot kept me guessing. Just when I thought I’d figured it all out, something else is revealed.

For a debut psychological thriller, this was really good!

I also want to note that although this is a series, the ending is not a cliffhanger. The author has said that book 2 is a continuation where the characters find themselves in a new & dangerous situation.

When a woman is fisheded out of the Wisconsin River and resuscitated they noticed she is pregnant and has a gunshot wound to the fore head. Five years later we meet Wanda Dellas, wife to Carl mom to Astrid drug attic in cleaning woman.
Despite“Wanda “feeding five-year-old Astrid potato chips for breakfas and not bathing her properly she feels an immense love for the five-year-old girl. One day while she is cuddling with Astrid she sees a reporter talk about the case of the missing woman Claire Stenbeck and her having gone missing the same time as “Wanda“ since she cleans office buildings to make ends meet she calls her boss and exes if she could clean the building where Claire’s Old office is an she is told she could but first because they lost files she must go and give a urine sample because she knows her urine is dirty she requires the help of her five-year-old daughter Astrid. This is what finally drives her over the edge and she quit doing drugs. To start cleaning the building in the more she snoops the more she believes she is Claire and not Wanda. Not only that she thinks she believes who is to blame for her accident. Is she right or is she putting herself in Astrid in more danger?
There was a lot I didn’t like about the story but there was a lot I did like about the story. First of all I didn’t like the abrupt about face in the finale I did love how authentic some of the outlandish things were presented and gave it a real great thriller feel to the book and that is why I gave it four stars it was really good riding the other things Would be spoilers. So what I will say is you should read this if you love a good thriller, you may find yourself loving this book and as I said there are some really great parts that really help with the overall story so I do recommend it. I received this book from NetGalley and the publisher but I am leaving this review voluntarily please forgive any mistakes as I am blind and dictate my review.

This is a great, fast paced mystery! I was immediately hooked on Wanda’s amazing story. She is pulled from a raging River after being shot - and she is pregnant. She can’t remember anything from before the accident but she feels out of place in her life. Once she starts investigating her own accident, lots of crazy things come to light. So crazy most folks write her off as just that. Thankfully she is stubborn and persistent and is able to solve the mystery once and for all.

This was a serviceable thriller, although kind of flat and convoluted. It read like a screenplay instead of a book - which meant I could really see what was happening in my head as it played out. Very cinematic. I missed the depth of a book, though.

Engaging story with a good plot. Definitely a fast-paced paged turner. I read this over the course of about 5 hours, in one day.

Did I see some of the twists coming? Yes, but I read a loooot of thrillers and many of them have some level of predictability. Some of the reveals were shocking so that was satisfying. Will I read the next installment of this series? You bet.

Thank you NetGalley and Speaking Volumes for the digital advance reader copy of Forget Me in return for my honest review.
