What a gripping, intense, mind-blowing and completely engrossing psychological thriller! This book kept me guessing for more till the end.

Multiple PoVs and their roles piqued my curiosity. The story alternates between these various PoVs - most of them in the PRESENT while the PAST is the flashback of the events that led to Miles' death. Mrs. W was sweet and kind until she wasn't. It was hard to believe there was a monster behind that mask!

I really loved the storytelling and the characters. There's a twist in the second half - something to do with the Hixton Five. And my doubts on Liam's role in this drama increased a notch. I was also curious to see what happens if/when Hannah comes face to face with Bill and her dark past.

The final twist blew my mind. I admit I had this feeling that something's still not right... but I did not expect a mind-blowing and shocking revelation. Nor did I expect this person to play a vital role in the creepy drama that had unfolded.

If you are looking for a creepy psychological thriller (do not read this book at night unless you love nightmares!), you might want to give The Sleepover by Keri Beevis a try.

An extremely well written book which got me involved in the storyline from the beginning although I did get a bit confused sometimes in the switching chapters.

All the characters were good although I found it not as faced paced as other books from this author and it didn't keep me on the edge of my seat.

Overall I enjoyed this book and thank you to Netgalley and Boldwood Books for this ARC which I can recommend.

Firstly I would just like to say a huge Thankyou to Keri Beevis , Boldwood Books & Netgalley for allowing me to read this ARC copy of The Sleepover.

The chapters switch between then & now, as we follow a group known as ‘The Hixton Five’. Trying to overcome the events of that night, that traumatised them so many years ago.
The storyline is good, although not as faced paced as I would usually like from a thriller.
I enjoyed the characters….. especially
Mrs W (aka Eileen Wickman) who is particularly hideous & creepy! 🙈

Unfortunately, this time, I did guess how the story was going to pan out and because of this … it loses stars for me.
Keep a lookout for this creepy read, coming soon ….just in time for spooky season.

Well, what I can I say - this book grabbed me from the very first page and it didn’t let go! The story drifts back and forth between past and present. In the past, a group of teenage friends calling themselves The Hixton 5 are befriended by a woman called Eileen Wickham (or Mrs W as the gang call her) and her son, Bill. As the story unfolds, we find out Mrs W committed some horrifying acts against the group, whilst acting under the guise of caring for them! I can totally understand how the gang fell for her manipulation - she offers fun, ice cream and a sleepover... Back in the present, Mrs W has been released from prison and strange things start to happen to the remaining members of the group…

Keri has created a host of believable characters, Mrs W and her son, Bill made my skin crawl, whilst my heart ached for Hannah and Rosie, and Tank, well he’s my favourite! The settings are also very atmospheric, I found the farmhouse to be the stuff of nightmares.

This is very clever writing - excellent pacing with lots of twists, I really thought I had it all figured out but… nope!

Thank you to NetGalley for the arc in exchange for an honest review. This review is wholly my own.

What a psychological thriller!!!! Wow - I could not stop turning the pages. Devoured in just over 24 hours time.

Atmospheric, chilling, dark, disturbing, addictive.

Alternates between the present and the past.

Five girls have a sleepover and someone from their childhood is locked away, but is then released when they are all adults and strange things start to happen.

The clock is ticking to figure it all our or it may be too late.

Very vague, I know - I don't ever want to risk spoilers.

Definitely worth a read!

My thanks to Boldwood books, Keri Beevis and Netgalley.
Before I read this book, I decided used to read another Beevis book. I guess to get the lay of the land, if you will!
I wasn't impressed. But, I also didn't hate it!
So...The Sleepover.
Not a great story. I just somehow hated it! It was everything I hate. Manipulation.
Honestly? I like the way this author writes and I plan on reading more. Just because I don't like something doesn't mean it's not worth sticking around for more. This author can only get better!

When Hannah was a pre-teen, she and her best friends were traumatized by an adult woman. What happened remains to be told, but Mrs. W has recently been released from prison, and Hannah and the remaining women are terrified that she is back for revenge.

On top of that, Lian Quinn, a journalist, has appeared and is interested in interviewing everyone for a book that he's writing about the tragedy and Hannah has her questions about his motives.

I was quite drawn into this story, I wanted to know what happened to the girls when they were younger as well as who Liam was. The twists were VERY good, and original. I thought they could have gone a few different ways and they did!

This is a fun read for "Spooky" season. Everyone who enjoys a good thriller would enjoy!

First time reading ths author. It's a gripping premise involving someone hell bent on revenge after being released from prison. There are some great creepy moments and I enjoyed the various POVs which made this a unique way of telling the story. I do love a locked room, remote setting and this was it!

This tense thriller kept me glued to the pages. The story alternates between the chilling events of the present and what happened 20 years ago to the teenage group that came to be known as the "Hixton 5". Evil Eileen Wickham has been released from prison and unsettling events began to occur. The alternating timelines were well done, breaking up the tension of the present and providing some background understanding of what was going on.

One night One secret One nightmare.
This fabulous cover drew me into the book and the headings straight away and I could not wait to see what The Sleepover was all about.
Hannah Cole and her best friend Rosie Emerson, a bloke knocks on Hannah's door, writer Liam Quinn wants a story about Eileen Wickham and this takes Hannah and Rosie back twenty years to a time they are trying to forget. they are scarred by the experiences and now this bloke wants to dredge it all up again to write his book.
The Hixton five had all moved on and guarded their past but this is not going to be easy to forget as we get the full story.
Oh Wow what a story to be told, I just kept flicking over and over to see what more is instore for these characters, it's one mind blowing read full of almighty twists and sad moments at the end, but I just loved it all was not disappointed one bit 5 stars from me.

Disturbing…Dark…Chilling…Wild…and Thriller.
Just a few words I would use to describe the forthcoming thriller from Keri Beevis. Though, I have only read one other book by Keri, “Dying to Tell” I will say this new one is much darker, and creepier. I read so many thrillers and horror novels, I sometimes am just ‘blahhh’! But, I’m happy to say, this one packed a punch and gave me pause.
The story flows back and forth between past and present. Past, 20 years ago when a woman by the name of Eileen Wickham, committed some unspeakable acts while caring for a group of teens under her charge. Those teenagers, were locally known as the Hixton 5. She went away to prison for her crimes; now she is free! And, of course strange things have started happening to the now grown 5, who are still trying to cope with the events in the past, This of course is not going so well and now she is out of prison and things are going from bad to worse.
Keri Beevis has written a taut and intense thriller. Sins of the past meet the reckonings of today. the clever writing lends itself to you believing you have it figured out, but then NOT!
I thoroughly enjoyed this read. Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for an eARC. All thoughts and opinions are solely mine.

A dark, disturbing and atmospheric psychological thriller that literally had the hairs all over my body standing on edge and I had goosebumps. Twisty and gripping, I couldn't put it down.

This story is what nightmares are made of! I can see how the five young teenagers were manipulated by the evil Eileen Wickham and her teenage son, Bill. The author does a great job of creating very vile characters in Eileen and Bill and their actions made my skin crawl. The farmhouse is the perfect backdrop for this story, and I could picture it vividly in my mind. I found all the teenagers very relatable, and my heart broke for all of them. I could feel their fear coming off the pages. I was completely shocked by the ending and did not see it coming at all. I found this story creepy and disturbing and have no problem recommending it to fans of psychological thrillers. This is exactly how I like my books!

This Is my first psychological book I've read in a long while, and my second book from this author, This starts with a group of friends teenagers who visits a woman named Eileen Wickham and her son on a farm and they are not as friendly as they seem.twenty years later they recieve flowers and a break in,was it from Eileen who came out of prison. It was a good read for me needed more twists and turns.so I would give this a rating of 3.5 and looking forward to reading more of this authors books.

This is my favourite book of Keri Beevis now!
It’s great to see how with every novel, her storytelling becomes better and better.
The characters were really well written, Hannah was very relatable, both vulnerable and strong at the same time.
The pace of the book was perfect, I couldn’t put it down and raced through it, living the twists and turns and excitement.
The setting was so normal that the inner turmoil each character contained added to the suspense of the story and in my opinion, ended perfectly!
