This wasn’t a bad read and had interesting characters but the story was a bit predictable. It certainly wasn’t boring to read but I was expecting a big twist at the end .There was a part of the story I didn’t expect at the end but it just lacked something for me , I would read another from this author though

Ooh, what a tense thriller! I loved the different POV’s, including that of an unnamed perp. There were some hard hitting themes explored. I found the story really got under my skin, giving me the creeps on many occasions.

This book delivered an abundance of nail-biting moments and other parts left me sad. Teenagers are a particularly vulnerable group and my foray into this story almost made me nervous to the gut.

Hannah made a great protagonist and I loved supporting cast members, Liam and Rosie, who both had their own stories to tell. All perspectives were neatly woven together, just giving enough away at exactly the right times.

‘The Sleepover’ is a twisty psychological thriller that will have you racing towards the big finale at breakneck speed. Don’t expect to sleep until you’ve devoured the very last page. Loved it!

This is my first book by this author and it had me hooked with its creepy tale. The story flits between present day and past events of 20 years ago. This chilling psychological thriller had my mind all over the place when evil Eileen Wickham is released from prison after serving a sentence for some truly awful crimes that she committed when she was supposed to be caring for some teens who became known locally as the Hixton 5.
If you enjoy reading thrillers then this is one you should definitely try.
My thanks to Net Galley and Boldwood Books for the advanced digital copy of this thoroughly enjoyable book.

The Sleepover by Keri Beevis

First time read for this author and I really liked their writing style. You learn about what happened before and what has brought the characters to now and why they are in fear.
You can feel the tension creep up and just when you think you have solved it a twist comes along and you realise you have been taken in the wrong direction.
I would read more from the author and look forward to reading their next book.

I really enjoyed Keri’s previous book, “With Friends Like This”, so I knew to expect an over the top mystery with lots of suspense, twists, and shocks. The storyline alternates between past and current events to piece the story of what happened to the Hixton 5 kids before, and who’s going after them now. I struggled to connect with the characters in both timelines, and started to lose interest when things became more implausible as the story progressed, so it ultimately didn’t work for me.
*Thanks to Boldwood Books and NetGalley for this ARC for review.

This author is a new one to me. It’s always a bit exiting. Will I like her writing style? Will she charm and captivate me with her storytelling? Will this be the one and only book I am going to read by her hand or am I going to add her name on my ever growing list of authors to follow?

Well, I suggest you keep on reading and you will find out what my thoughts are. 😊

I have so say sometimes I scare myself a bit. I mean by that that I wonder whether I am sane. I would not hurt a fly. Well, maybe a fly could get killed in my house, but I would not want to hurt another person. That is what comes in my mind straight away. But when I reflect a bit longer, I start to realise it’s not quite true.

I most certainly would hurt someone… in self defence. I guess when it’s a question of you or them, you are in a different mindset. I do admit that certain people could drive even the softest soul to lash out.

But overall, I would not hurt anyone. I do love to read thrillers. Dark thrillers even. And I enjoy them. Should I need to see a doctor? 😉

Talking about a dark thriller. This is a very good example of this genre. I sometimes had to reread a sentence, because it’s hard to understand how people can be that way. How can they live with themselves? In fact those actions are what make them tick. They need do to it. They crave it even.

They people are ill. But is there or will there ever be a cure for them? I certainly hope so. It would make the world a much better place.

This is the story of Hannah and her friends and what they went through. It’s disgusting, heart breaking and makes them want to protect each other. Protecting someone does not have the same meaning for everybody…
I loved this book and I am looking forward to the next one. 5 stars

Thank you

This book was sent to me by Netgalley electronically for review. Mystery and intrigue…love and romance…family and friends.. the past…the present…colliding…surviving the worst…this author has written a cannot put down novel. Scary and secretive…horrible acts.. this is a frightening story that is fiction but could be true. This reads like a crime show.

This was so amazingly good. I so did not trust that guy but I was still over here like "get it girl!" and I never want anyone to "get it" especially when the guy seems sketchy. Do you have any idea the amount of talent it takes to make me want a woman to "get it"?
Amazing!
Anyway this was a compelling, disturbing, and twisty story I won't get over for a really long time. This is one of those "it could have happened to me too" stories that you can't shake.

Really loved this new thriller! Keri Beevis delivers big time again. Lots of tension, lies and secrets. So many twists and turns as well as great reveals. Awesome characters kept me turning the pages.
Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book

When Hannah and Rosie were young, they and their friends befriended Mrs W-Eileen Wickham who invited them to her farmhouse and to play on her land. One day Hannah saw something whilst looking for Mrs W and fled, not daring to mention it. Twenty years later and Mrs W has just come out of prison. Both Hannah and Rosie are getting messages which only Mrs W would know about. Liam is a true crime writer and wants to help but the girls are fed up with intrusive journalists but it appears that there is a score to be settled from the past and Liam can help protect the girls.

OMG! One of those reads where you don’t quite know all of the past (we get it slowly through the book- cleverly thought out and perfectly done) which beautifully creates a tension through the pages. Keri is a master of this engaging and holding the reader to keep the pages turning. Tank is wonderful and provides the occasional lighthearted moment. Love him! A story to keep the reader engaged right to the very end with a twist or two along the way. A wonderful, thrilling read.

I really enjoyed this book. I do not think that there was anything special about it, but that is okay. Overall, a quality read with some good twists and turns.

These are the first words that come to mind now I have read this, the latest psychological thriller from Keri Beevis,I would also say it has elements of family drama and a ‘whodunit’ vibe as well
Eileen Wickham was evil, she did terrible things to the teens she was supposed to be looking after………she got caught and has served her time…..and now she is free…..the ‘Hixton 5’ as they are known ( the survivors of Eileen’s cruelty ) are trying still, many years after , to come to terms with what happened…..but now Eileen is back on their radar and ‘things’ are starting to happen…bad things, again……will Eileen have her revenge.?
A tense, taut thriller, really cleverley done that will have you thinking you know….but really you don't!……the past,is back and back with a vengeance….be afraid…..
Great Read

Keri Beevis is a new to me author. It wasn’t the sort of mystery I am used to reading so it took me a while to really get into it. I’m glad I stuck with it. It finally held my attention and of course, I tried to figure out who the murderer was and I was wrong 3 times. Each time I was sure I had the right one, I was surprised at the twist in the story that led me to someone else.

All words and opinions are my own. I was given a copy of this book from NetGalley for my honest review.

This was an incredible ride from start to finish. It's quite a slow burn to start with, drip feeding you what happened then & what is happening now but once it gets going and the reveals started happening it became a book that I just couldn't put down, I needed to know!

The characters are well drawn so I cared what was happening in their lives and what had happened to them. The pacing was spot on really, it kept me guessing even after I was sure I know what was going on now by adding in details from the past.

You have to smile when an author gives the pets/animals great characters too and there is one in here for the dog lovers among us to enjoy!
