this reminded me a lot of a fun road trip that has a dark undertone. It was such a great story and was written so well that I felt like I was apart of the journey. The characters were what I was hoping for and I enjoyed that they weren't totally good or evil. Ken Bagnis has a great writing style and I'm excited to read more from him.

"No! She’s not gonna die.” I have no clue what’s wrong with her. Poisoned? Possessed? I remember back a bunch of years, to a distant cousin I had never met before at a family reunion. Something just like this happened to him. He flopped around right next to our picnic table. Maybe a seizure? Yes, that makes the most sense, I decide. “I think she might be having a seizure.”
