This was a quick, cute read. The book had a really great, uplifting message. As a mom I tend to put myself last but this book was a sweet reminder to love myself and that I matter too.

A short, sweet, affirming guide to being kind and accepting toward yourself. A combination of mantras and suggestions for developing self-love, this is a great book to thumb through when you need a little boost or a reminder that you are worthy of respect, compassion, and affection. This would be a great gift to brighten someone's day, especially if that someone is you!

Many thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review!

Why I picked up the book: As a mother of two young boys I often forget to spend time on myself. This seemed like an easy book that I didn't have to commit a lot of time that I don't always feel I have to work through.

Lessons Applied: I usually don't buy myself flowers even though I look at them every time I go to the grocery store. Now I think I'm going to - just for me to remind myself that I don't need to wait for other people to buy them for me, I can show myself that I love me by buying them too.

Who I would recommend to read this book: Anyone who is looking for a very quick read with ideas and exercises that feel they don't have time to read. This is a very low commitment book that can help trigger some ideas and small improvements.

Thank you NetGalley and Muse Literary for an ARC of this novel in exchange for an honest review.

Rating: 5/5* (I bought and shipped a copy to one of my besties!)

A beautiful look though how to utilize your inner light in life and how to make your life brighter. Pun intended. Highly recommend. Especially loved the reflection to true life to humanize my feelings and relate. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

This is a very cute little book with a powerful message - how to love, value, accept and respect yourself. Full of joy and positivity, it helps nudge you out of negativity and asks you to rethink your perspective. Very supportive, easy to read, with passages that help you reframe or re-set your thoughts. My only "complaint" is that I wish it were longer. More please!!!

Add this to your shopping list for yourself and to gift to those you care about.

My thanks to the author and Muse Library for allowing me to read an ARC of the book via NetGalley. All opinions expressed in this review are my own and are freely given.

This was a pleasant book. It's a great jumping off point to something that is daunting to most of us . It helped me start to see a bit more of how I can view/treat myself with kindness and love. It's simplified message of hope and love is very palatable without being saccharine or condescending. The words and especially the illustrations make it feel like.a friend is writing little notes to the reader. This book seems like it would be easy to pop back into when a gentle reminder to love myself is needed.

Why is it so difficult for some people to love themselves? They may treat others with understanding and compassion without offering the same understanding to themselves. This book by a licensed clinical social worker, psychotherapist and coach is here to offer some hope. She is optimistic and believes that great change can happen in just a week.

What follows in this titles looks to me like a series of affirmations and suggestions for things to think about. They may be helpful to many. Throughout are doodle like illustrations that accompany the text.

A couple of ideas from the book . Say could rather than should to yourself. Slow down when trying to imagine what is needed at any given moment.

This title will be helpful for those in need of garden variety encouragement. Those with deeper issues or depression may also enjoy this title but I do not think that it will fix everything. Think in those situations of accessing additional emotional health services.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Muse Library for this title. All opinions are my own.

This is a really short book but it is positive in what comes across

The book was only a quick read but it does have a few very simple and basic ideas and ways to love yourself, it is a book that has a lot of positives, positive actions and positive thinking

It is a book that you could give as a gift for someone who needs a little boost, or for yourself if you needed a pick me up, it would be easy to pick the book up and just open a page to give a reminder of the positives about you

The book was well laid out, it was nice and had some lovely illustrations

It is 3.5 stars from me for this one, rounded up to 4 stars for Goodreads and Amazon - I wish it had been longer and I wish there had been a little more content as it does have a lot of illustrations, not all of which are needed - I would have prefered some quotes or other positive messages

What a short book! Not exactly what I expected with it showing as 47 pages long and half of it had cute doodle drawings. I read this in 10 minutes.Simple ways to love yourself. I think useful as a gift appropriate for a teenager or young adult. I really expected it to offer more and disappointed with lack of content.

Rachel Madorsky’s “How to Love Yourself: In Less Than a Week & Also for the Rest of Your Life” is a charming, quick read that inspires self-help and self-love. It’s a brilliant read for those who are new to working on themselves; Madorsky puts into easily absorbable language some simple yet profound changes one can easily make in their lives to better their relationship with their self, and thus others. Certainly, I was easily able to apply the resources suggested quickly into my own life. I am, however, yet to see how they impact on my nonexistent self-love. My few hang-ups about the book do not necessarily relate to the text’s short length; one of it’s most appealing aspects is the transformative yet brief content, for you can absorb this important information about self-love in a quick sitting. My “problem” with the book is the immediate level of self-love that it requires; as someone who has spent a long time hating myself, I need something that better eases me into self-love. Considering the book is marketed for complete “beginners”, it should perhaps better account for the extremely difficult task that is loving yourself when you have hated yourself for so long. However, overall, it is a lovely little book with many techniques that I am eager to utilise in my day-to-day life.

Although it was a somewhat simplistic book there were several passages I could see myself referring back to on my wellness journey. It was a good, quick read.
