Many thanks to Netgalley and the publisher/author for providing me with an ALC in exchange for my honest review.

OMG!!! This book was exactly what I wanted it to be! I loved it. I will make sure to check out other books by this author. When I requested this I was just intrigued by the concept of it and I loved how it turned out. This story had a great plot and if you have read this and enjoyed it, This was so much. It was such a great story. I would say give this one a try. I will continue to follow this author. Way to go to this author for not letting me down.

I highly enjoyed the narrator of the audiobook. Kept me listening.

Thank you NetGalley and Publisher for letting me receive this book as an ARC.
This book was a win for me. I love legends, myths, and fantasy. The reason I asked for this book mainly was because of the title. Reading about there characters and how they interact with the Nine Realms was great. This book was one that I did not put down until I was completely finished. I am glad this was the first book because I cannot wait for more. Classic good vs evil. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a good fantasy.

I enjoy Norse mythology and thus found this novel both interesting and confounding. I have not read the first volume - I didn't realize that this one was a sequel when I picked it up - so I am quite confused by it taking place after Ragnarok, which should be the ending of the world, which apparently happened in the previous novel. It was fairly evident early on in the novel that there was another novel preceding it, but I still feel like I missed a few things that this novel takes for granted, such as the Favouring, which appears to be the granting of a Norse god's powers to a human teen, possibly for a limited amount of time.

Amanda is the Favoured of Sigyn, a Norse goddess, and is trying, with her friends and fellow Favoured, to prevent Ragnarok from recurring, by defeating the goddess Hel's attempts to return to her full power and control the nine worlds of Norse myth. But Amanda must follow a narrow path, balancing benefit and loss as she goes, or risk the loss of everything. Each time she thinks she has found the right balance, the actions of others knock her off what seemed to be a clear course. Join her to see if she can find a true course through her obstacles.

Asgardian exchange follows Norse mythology- gods in a fantastical world interacting with other creatures. A really promising concept but unfortunately I could not make much sense of it. It seemed like there was so much I missed. I'm not sure if this book had a prequel but it definitely seems like it. If it's a trilogy, each book should still be understandable to some extent on its own.
I couldn't finish the book though I really liked the basis because it just felt like I was missing a lot of context. Thrown straight into the action in a story that had begun long ago. There was no time to know the characters or get attached to them from the beginning. It was disappointing because the book seems promising. I just can't understand it.

The Asgardian Exchange: Touch of the Valkyrie – Book 2 by Mark Bryan

400 Pages
Publisher: The Book Whisperer
Release Date: October 10, 2022

Fiction, Sci Fi, Fantasy, Teen, Young Adult, Norse

Amanda is a human from Earth, also known as Midgard. She was chosen as a Favoured of Sigyn and went to Asgard to train. Everyone was leery of her because Sigyn was part responsible for bringing Ragnarok. Now that Amanda has proven herself and has been honored by the Light Elves, she must find out if her fate is to become a Valkyrie. She must ride with two other Favoured along with Freya and Prelate Tess to Vahalla to be tested.

This is the second book in the Asgardian Exchange series. The book has a steady pace, the characters are developed, and it is written in the third person point of view. I enjoy reading books about Norse gods and goddesses and their stories. This incorporation of humans into the stories is a nice twist. If you enjoy Hunger Games, Harry Potter, or other similar series, you will like this one.

The Asgardian Exchange: The Touch of the Valkyrie is a well written and complex book with a lot of background rooted in Norse mythology. It is action-packed, somewhat dark and mind-capturing story with great world building and well-written plot.

This was a great entry in the Touch of the Valkyrie series, it does what I was hoping for based on the description. I had enjoyed the first book in the series and was glad that this series continued. It had the same style and was what I enjoyed about the first book. The characters were great and I enjoyed that they grew from the first book to this. Mark Bryan has a great writing style and I look forward to more from him.

"Cassie took Amanda’s hand. “Sorry. I know I’m being a bit of a blubbering mess, but Connor and I have only ever been apart a few times in our lives. We may not be brother and sister by birth, but I always know when he is in trouble—which is frequently. Usually I am with him, though.”
