Thanks @Netgalley for my copy.

I really really wanted to get into this book. Revenge, female empowerment and petty business are all things I embrace, so after reading the synopsis I thought YESSS!! But Alas, no. Kitty is a famous Instagrammer, rich, spoiled and yes, entitled. She's also bored out of her mind, but when she accidentally killed someone, she found a new hobby I guess? I couldn't connect with this character, her inner dialogue was a bit childish and bitchy, even when she's with her "friends". Every time a character was introduced we get their full social media credentials like a posh outdated millennial calling card created "FOR YOUR PAGE".
I did not enjoy this one, really wanted to though

A quirky dark tale full of colourful characters. Love that Kitty told the reader details of her clothing and furniture., amongst the other gory details of the murders.
Had an idea who her stalker was, but the ending was delicious.
The writing was so good that I had to take a shower after a particularly gross murder sequence, feeling that I had been part of it.

Thanks to HQ and NetGalley for ARC.

Well, I wanted to read this book from the title alone!
Meat heiress and vegan, Kitty Collins is living the life of a Chelsea based influencer, single, with a coterie of great gal pals. She has a hobby that she hasn't told her pals about and that never features on her Insta feed. She finds men that prey on women, and makes sure they stop. Then things start to unravel - she meets a good man and she makes several mistakes.
This is darkly comic, sometimes very graphic (should have content warnings for sex, sexual violence and violence) and reads like the love child of Dexter and Made in Chelsea. I found the jaunty rom-com tone jarring at times, and I didn't warm to Kitty or her friends, who all have problems, none of which would be made worse by getting paid employment, but it was a well-plotted tale that will have many many fans. I'll be interested to see what Katy Brent does next.

Really enjoyed this book. Kitty was a great main character and really gave me Dexter vibes and this book for me had a better ending than Dexter so that’s an added bonus. Would recommend! We love a female vigilante.

How to Kill Men and Get Away With It by Katy Brent was so much freaking fun! A wonderfully delicious new novel about men needing to get the fuck away from us :)

I really, really wanted to like this. It just didn't land for me, I loved the concept, but felt it failed in execution. The MC felt like a prime example of a rich, white girl with absolutely nothing at stake. A little more tension between her and police might have helped raise the stakes some. I also would have liked to see more tension between her and the romantic interest surrounding her extracurricular activities. It was a very fast paced book and I got through it quickly, but in the end was left wanting a lot more.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an e-galley in exchange for a fair and honest review.

This was a fun read, completely outlandish and the main character isn't very likeable however I did enjoy reading it and would recommend.

Thank you for the arc.

Wow, I really liked this one. A female vigilante meets Dexter who is also an influencer. I admit I am one to judge a book by it's cover and books with covers like this are usually romance or corny to me in a way but I gave this one a shot and it blew me away. The names alone and dialogue kind of threw me in the beginning but I am so glad I stuck with it. It's funny, dark and twisted, and although the protagonist is kind of psychotic, you can't help but love her with her no bullcrap attitude. I honestly want a sequel and hope I'm not alone on that front. Definitely give this one a go, you will not be disappointed. Five Vicious Stars.

Thank you to Netgalley and HQ for this ARC.

Unfortunately this wasn't a book for me, I found it to be quite crude especially the graphically detailed encounters Kitty had. Quite cringy along with the explicit language used throughout

I found the plot to be far fetched and unbelievable.

I absolutely adored this book! It’s my first from the author but definitely will not be my last! I was rooting along with the main character the entire time, even as she committed atrocious crimes. #teamkitty
5 stars.

*Arc review*

I would like to thank @but_katy_did_it @netgalley and @hqstories for this book in exchange for my honest opinion.

Blurb:

Meet Kitty Collins.
FRIEND. LOVER. KILLER.
He was following me. That guy from the nightclub who wouldn’t leave me alone.
I hadn’t intended to kill him of course. But I wasn’t displeased when I did and, despite the mess I made, I appeared to get away with it.
That’s where my addiction started…
I’ve got a taste for revenge and quite frankly, I’m killing it.

The cover is what drew me to this when I saw it on @netgalley and this book did not disappoint. I found it kept me hooked from the start, always wanting to see what was next for the main character Kitty. I would highly recommend this book if you are looking for something a little different. This kept me laughing throughout and I will be keeping an eye out for this author in the future.

The benefit of your friend reading a book before you, is you can talk to them about it for each new discovery. The down side is that you want to ask so many questions, because you can't read quick enough to get the answers you want.

I am so glad I listened to the recommendation that i needed to start reading this book immediately.

Even after such a big talk up, this book lived up to the hype; it's really amazing.

Some things I guessed, some things I hoped for and some things really took me by surprise.

There is so much i want to say, so many plot points I'd like to comment on, but i think it would be better to read this book yourself, to find out what they are / for the whole experience.

The only negative thing I have to say is that I think this book should have come with a trigger warning, as I wasn't expecting quite so much sexual violence.

3.5 stars.

I have two words for this book: female Dexter. Don’t get deceived by the cute and colourful cover, this book has a lot of graphic blood and gore, which I didn’t expect coming in!

Kitty Collins was a celebrity influencer, but she didn’t just spend time posting pics of herself and watching her number of followers grow. When she accidentally killed a guy, it started something in her. Sometimes, someone had to take out the trash in society, right?

Kitty was full of contradictions. She claimed to be beyond superficial things, yet she surrounded herself by shallow friends. She didn’t like people who judged others based on the number of Instagram followers, yet she did it herself. She was a vegan, yet she killed people and enjoyed the sight of blood!

So why did I like this book?! My critical brain said I shouldn’t have enjoyed this book as much as I did, but my heart did. Oh well.

TW: r*pe and abuse.

This is AN INCREDIBLE book. Kitty is that perfect likeable/not likeable kind of character and I mean... she kills r*pists. I loved it. I cant believe that this is the author's debut and I cant wait to see what comes next.

Starting the new year with a stab!

How to Kill Men & Get Away With It was a bloody fun way to kick off my 2023 reading. Kitty Collins is a major social media influencer who has a bit of a secret. After she “accidentally” kills an absolute creeper who followed her from a bar, something awakens inside of her. She realizes that her calling may be more than just reposting gorgeous bikini pictures and sponsored posts. As she begins her Vigilante quest (living by Dexter Morgans code of course) to remove all creepers from Tinder and save womankind everywhere, we begin to discover that the rabbit hole goes way deeper than we first thought.

If you are looking for a quick, comedic romp following an influencer with a penchant for knives as she rids the world of creeps and f*ckbois in fabulous shoes this is for you. I will say there are some triggers in this book as they discuss suicide, rape and assault attempts.

This was a three star read for me and I’m keeping everything crossed that Kitty makes it to the big screen or at the very least a Netflix / HBO adaption.

Happy Reading!

Honestly I chose this book for the cover and title. Honestly, how can you pass that up? It’s a WILD ride from beginning to end, can be a bit predictable but honestly it was so fun and crazy I didn’t even mind. Give this one a go!

Thank you to netgalley for an arc in exchange for an honest review.

I couldn’t oh this one down. Extremely enjoyable and fun read. The way the author has crafted these murders and how it unfolds in brilliant.

What would you get if you mixed Made In Chelsea with the #MeToo movement and a touch of My Sister The Serial Killer? You would get something a bit like How To Kill Men And Get Away With It. 3.5 star read for me. It was a fast pace read and lots of tongue in cheek humour. However Kitty's character is a bit all over the place and not at all likeable. I actually wanted her to be caught. Another negative: I felt like I was lectured about veganism at times and that was a bit of a turn off

I mean, with a title like that who doesn’t want to read this?

Unreliable narrator and a ‘I’m loving this but improbably shouldn’t vibe’ this book was a tonic.

Twisted and funny, good for an easy and fun read.

When I initially read the description of the narrative, I was immediately intrigued by the concept and couldn't wait to get started. I love a witty, clever story especially with a female lead. But I just did not love this as much as I had hoped.
Don't get me wrong, it's not a terrible book by any means. But I was totally unable to empathise/sympathise with Kitty and it made me less connected to the book because of it. I found it difficult to relate to her and her justifications for doing what she does. I believe it would have been simpler if she had been merely abhorrent, allowing me to despise her. But she wasn't, yet she wasn't that likable either!
She does have a good relationship with her friends, which is a significant portion of this book, so there is that!
