I really enjoyed this book as a whole. I always enjoy a narrator who you can't fully trust. This is quite easy when it comes to a narrator who has no idea as to who she is. I found this book enjoyable as a whole. I thought every twist was well done. None of them made me go "wait. WHAT", but I don't think every book needs that. It balanced multiple twists that kept me on my toes and kept me interested. Each character seemed developed and whole. Sometimes when authors focus too much on a twisty book they forget that the character needs to be complete, and I think Sharp did very well in remembering a character arch, depth and background.

On top of this, whether it was intentional or not, I found this book to be a wonderful commentary on the way social media influencers act in the real world. Do influencers know who they are when they are off camera? Have they developed such an artificial presence online that even they don't know where the internet persona and and real life person begin and end? If we took away the fame, would they recognize themselves? These are the questions I was asking myself during this read.

Overall, it was a really enjoyable book and I will want to read more from Sharp in the future!

This book was a quick read. I enjoyed it, however, at times I felt that it was a bit scattered. Maybe just a bit too unrealistic.

WOW is all I have to say!! “Her Last Lie” follows an influencer, Naomi, who suffered from memory loss following a brain injury. As she tries to piece together what happened, she is torn between Instagram vs. reality.

I have enjoyed following influencers over the years, and this is an interesting story that shows that you never really know what goes on behind closed doors, despite the perfect life that social media may portray.

This was a really quick, easy to read book. I loved the book overall - there were a few very minor plot holes or inconsistencies, but none that were a dealbreaker for the overall plot.

I’m giving this 4/5 stars ⭐️ because I did have a suspicion about the ending, but the many twists and turns kept me very entertained.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Inkubator Books for the ARC in exchange for my honest thoughts!

You are an instagram influencer. Someone's jealous of your following and admirers. So jealous that they even plot to kill you. What would you do?

Naomi wakes up in a hospital having no idea of who she is or where she is. A stranger, who claims to be her husband, Joel, kidnaps her and keeps her in isolation for days. She kept her real life so personal that she couldn't find anything on internet that can bring her memory back.

News says that Naomi & Joel attempted suicide by jumping off a building. Joel says that there is a third person on the roof who pushed her. She remembers that she pushed Joel. Which of these is true?
Is it a suicide or an attempted murder?

The plot is good and is based on how social media can make someone to do unimaginable things. Writing is good too. The storyline can be relatable to Gen-Z the most.

Laura felt like a strong character. I don't know why she was out of story really early. If she was afraid of that man, she must not have come back to show Naomi those pictures. And where were Adrian and Willow, when Naomi met Lizbeth. That felt off there. Why does Willow is with Lizbeth at the end🤔🤔 And tbh, I didn't get the title. People lied to her but she didn't lie anywhere, right? Oh wait...Or is it that she lied about her relationship with her husband?

Anyways, I kinda liked it and I enjoyed reading it.

Thank you netgalley and inkubator books for the arc.

This is the first novel I have read from the talented Australian author Kayla Sharp and it's a beauty. A brilliantly written novel with an excellent story … truly a sensational psychological thriller. The story takes you through Naomi's dilemma of losing her memory and the repercussions of social media. Highly recommended read and worthy of five stars.

This was a great book. I loved every paragraph, every sentence and every word of this masterpiece! I read it in 12 hours, which is a lot for me to do! It had everything and more laid out in the novel! I sure hope she writes more! I am totally hooked!

Naomi Sommers wakes up in the hospital with no idea how she got there. She has suffered a severe brain injury. A man named “Joel” says he’s her husband and takes her to a house in the desert where he keeps her isolated from a so called stalker. She has her doubts about the situation.
This was a very entertaining read and I hope to read more by this author.

Good story and well written. It held my attention from the first few chapters and really picked up towards the end. It's one I would re read again.

Naomi wakes from an accident with no memory of her previous life. A stranger to her, Joel, claims to be her husband, and Naomi has no choice but to believe him. Joel keeps Naomi isolated and will only drip-feed her clues about her past. He says he's just following doctors' orders - Naomi has to take it easy, or she could be overwhelmed. But Naomi can't help feeling there's something off about Joel and the wonderful life he claims they had together. And how did she get injured in the first place? And who is the stranger who's been stalking her?

Although the plotline is a bit predictable, it's still an enjoyable book. There's some twists and turns but it can also be a little unrealistic in parts. Naomi needs to find out her previous life quickly, before it's too late. The story is told from Naomi's point of view. This steady paced read held my attention throughout.

I would like to thank #NetGalley #InkubatorBooks and the author #KylaSharp for my ARC of #HerLastLie in exchange for an honest review.

Thanks to Netgalley and Inkubator books for the advanced reader copy. Naomi wakes up and does not remember who she is and how she ended up in the hospital. Hold on for the thrills, She has a husband, yet she has no recollection of him. To get to the answers, read every page of this book.

Thank you to NetGalley for the arc. This review is wholly my own.

This thriller follows Naomi who awakens from a coma with no memory and with a man named Joel who claims to be her husband and who is caring for her, but over time she begins to become suspicious of Joel & his intentions and desperately needs to remember what she has forgotten.

This was a very quick read filled with lots of suspense, action, twists and turns to keep you wanting to keep turning the pages until the very end.

At some points, it was a little unrealistic, but this is a debut novel by Kyla Sharp and I thought she did a great job and will only get better the more she writes.

I recommend reading a copy in whatever format you prefer (when it releases).

A gripping read that was believable and relatable - we all know influencers after all. Well written with well developed characters and a compelling storyline intertwined with a creepy atmosphere

Oh my gosh this was a whirlwind and a little too close for comfort! I loved how the main character Naomi was an Influencer. The author clearly knows the world and definitely made me second guess my attempts at blissful shots. Loved it.

Naomi begins to suspect she’s in terrible danger, she needs to fully remember her previous life and fast.
When she finds some posts she made on instagram, she realises the clue to her identity may lie on social media. But are those posts even true? Or was that Naomi presenting a picture perfect version of herself which has no basis in reality?
Trapped in a web of lies and unable to trust even herself, can Naomi figure out the who she really is before it’s too late?
Really enjoyed this book totally recommend

This is my first book by this author and wow what a book. I love a good amnesia type book and this did not disappoint. I read so many thrillers so its really hard for me to be shocked at anything that happens at this point. This book tricked me. I thought I knew what was going to happen and boy was I wrong.

This is a modern twist on a traditional tale. Person wakes up after an accident with amnesia and injuries and no idea who to trust.

This is the first novel from this author, and as a debut novel it is decent story, if slightly unbelievable at points. Whilst I could not put the novel down, I did feel that it just didn’t read the heights of a page turner that I would have expected. And as it went from the middle to end, I felt that it was just pushing the bounds of unreality.

Maybe I was just not the best person to be reviewing this novel.

Thank you NetGalley and Inkubator Books for the copy of Her Last Lie. What a rollercoaster of a book! This has all the hallmarks of the perfect Lifetime movie. The characters are the kind I love to hate but still care about. The story was good, although a bit predictable.
If you’re looking for an inside look at the thoughts of a ‘influencer’ this might be right up your alley.
