A beautiful way to bring scripture into your life and think about the bigger picture when it comes to God's Word.

“Rediscovering Your Vision and Restoring Your Hope in God’s Presence.”

This is my second Kat Armstrong study and I enjoyed it just as much as the first.

The book takes the reader through five ‘Mountains’ (both geographic and metaphoric in nature) found in the Bible, and discusses how these close encounters with God can teach and encourage us in our current lives.

Each day, you read a portion of scripture and delve more into context, meaning, and application.

I loved so much about it.

First off, the artwork is stunning. Not the most important aspect, but so beautiful.

I loved that the scriptures appeared in the text.

I loved that the daily homework wasn’t overwhelming. We all love Sister Beth, but we don’t always have hours a day to devote to study.

I loved that there are more in this series. It’s like finishing an excellent novel and knowing you get to spend more time with your favourite characters.

I didn’t really dislike anything, but I’d have liked more cultural context, and I think I would have preferred going through this in community, instead of by myself.

I’m very much looking forward to more from this teacher.

8/10

Thanks to NetGalley and Tyndale House Publishers for this tender ARC.

I love studies that focus on the symbolism in Scripture and this study does not disappoint. Focused on the mountains in Scripture, Kat Armstrong takes you through various mountains and mountain top experiences in Scripture to show us that God is always with us. Has good reflective questions throughout and would be great for a small group study.

I received an eARC of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. All opinions expressed in this review are my own.

I have enjoyed Kat Armstrong's work previously, and I was so excited to get an advanced review copy of this new Bible study series to read. It was beautiful, insightful and straightforward. I loved the unusual theme of looking at mountains and what God does there, the depth of contextual and historical insight, and the very practical and honest application.

This book is very well done and is a great study looking for something different in their Bible journey. My only "complaint" is I didn't feel each section was a weeks worth of material, I found myself completing most in a day or two during my morning Bible study time. That isn't a bad thing - I didn't want to put it down, but most weekly Bible studies I do have been a little lengthier.
