Wendy is a beautiful writer. She truly encourages you to seek God and give Him the first place in your life.. The 40-day feast is a beautiful devotional where Wendy every day leads you in going deeper in God's word. She encourages you to read and feast in God's word. She gives you tools and tips on how to study the Bible. This was an amazing way to start my year. Feasting in God's word!!!

I love the format of Wendy’s books. Easy, digestible chapters/days. I appreciated the transition from her previous fasts to this new feast, especially a feast on God’s Word. I’ve already bought several copies to give to friends.

I needed a kick start to dig deeper into God’s holy word. That is exactly what this book delivered. Wendy Speake writes to the new Christian and those of us who have been in the church all our lives. She provides interesting anecdotes that lead into thought provoking lessons on how to gain more nourishment from daily Bible study.

The 40-Day Feast is truly an amazing and inspiring book that I used to improve my Bible study habit. This book was not intended to be a comprehensive explanation of the Bible. Its purpose was to “wet” the reader’s appetite and give them different ways to study God’s word on their own. After a short Bible verse, some personal insights and an ending prayer, Wendy provides a Bible passage and concludes with “Food for Thought”. The reader has the opportunity and is encouraged to discover life applications for each Bible passage. Towards the middle of the book Wendy shares different ways to study the Bible using acrostics and Kay Arthur’s “How to Study Your Bible” method which truly resonated with me. She also provides plans for reading the Bible in a year. This book was written to help both believers and experienced Bible readers as well as nonbelievers. I highly recommend this book and plan to share it with family and friends.

Feasting on the Word is just what I have needed due to being spiritually malnourished and overfed on cultural junk food (thanks Wendy for spelling that out so clearly). This 40-day devotional provides a great framework for digging into God’s word and wanting to seek more. It’s resources to set me up for various ways to study the Word outside of this book gave me skills to focus on God and not rely on others to spoon feed me. Much like Wendy’s other works, there is a kindness and humility in her delivery and an unspoken desire for others to want to feast on God’s Word in the way she continues seeking to. This book is a blessing.

Most of us do not read the Bible because it is too challenging to start a book with this scope of story and length. It is a 40-day devotional that is broken into easy to complete daily segments. The chapters are enjoyable and touching as Wendy Speak includes her personal life-long testimony of seeking God in his Word, and always finding Him faithful.
To quote the author, “ My goal was not to feed my Jesus hungry friends for another 40 days, but to inspire and equip them to feed themselves for a lifetime.”
This book will help the reader to follow processes of how to read and study, or to hone their own system, and create a lifelong bible reading feast.

Excellent book!! I recommend this book to anyone who wants a better relationship with God. The author is a God sent and thank you for writing this book.

I really enjoyed this book, Wendy Speake takes you through 40 days of feasting on God’s word, but also gives you thoughts and ideas on how to feast on Gods word after your done doing the 40 day feast with her. Wendy’s goal in the book seems to be to get each of us to be Bible reading Christians on a regular basis. Wendy also has free resources online that you can download, and one of them is a yearly Bible reading plan for those of use who would like to follow something. I think the point she makes in this book, is that it doesn’t matter in which order you read the Bible, but that you read the Bible and are able to soak up Gods word and draw closer to God! This is a great book to read if you don’t know how to start reading the Bible, or if you’ve gotten lax about reading the Bible, or even if you are good about reading the Bible!

The 40-Day Feast is a great book to inspire daily Bible reading. Wendy encourages the reader to make a habit of opening the Bible and ingesting the Word of God. The chapters are not long and it is easy to incorporate this activity into your daily routine. Wendy is engaging, sincere and eager to share her passion for God's Word. This in turn, inspires readers to want to learn more. Her stories of other Bible readers helped me to want to be a member of this group and encourage others. The Word of God is never stale, and can nourish and bring wisdom to anyone that desires "to feast" on God's Word. Thank you Wendy Speake!

I have read all of Wendy’s book and waited with eager anticipation for this new release. And of course it did not disappoint. she takes the readers on a 40 Day journey to help readers learn to dig in to the Word of God. Filled with personal stories and helpful tips, she she teaches not only to ingest, but digest the Word. New Bible readers will get the encouragement they need and seasoned readers will find opportunity to reignite their passion for our love letter from the Lover of our souls. It truly is a treat.

Wendy utilizes touching stories, theology, and practical tips to inspire the reader to live a life that craves reading God's Word. This book is beneficial for those new to faith or reading the Bible. I love Wendy's suggestions for how to approach the Bible in prayer and the questions we can ask ourselves after we read. As a Bible study teacher, I also learned several new facts about the Bible and its history. I highly recommend this book for those looking to fall in love with the Word of God.

This was exactly the book I needed to get myself back into the morning habit of taking time for God’s Word!! Wendy always seems to motivate us to try something new!! I loved that on the mornings I didn’t have much time i could just dive right into the Bible passages and then come back later in the day to read Wendy’s comments. I would recommend this book to anyone who needs a push to get back in the wonderful habit of daily Bible reading.

I have enjoyed every fast with Wendy and I was so excited when she came out with the 40 Day Feast. Shes so right you have to fast in order to feast! In her first 2 books she prepared me through her encouraging style of bring God’s word each and everyday. She meets your where you are. I doesn't matter if your new in your walk with Christ or have know Christ for your entire life. I truly believe God has used Wendy as a vessel to spread his word. The 40 day feast did just that. Each day she took us into scripture and asked us the same 3 questions 1. What did I Learn about God? 2. What did I learn about myself? And 3. How am I going to apply it? Its not just reading a verse or a chapter it the big picture of knowing that the bible is God’s story and how we were saved through the death and resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Only through his him do we have access to the Father and only through him we have access to eternal life and salvation. Thank you Wendy for the 40 DayFeast it has helped to prepare my heart and mind to stick to a bible plan for 2023 and have built a hunger that can only be satisfied through HIS FEAST!

This is an excellent 📖 book! Feasting with Jesus is fulfilling and so “ healthy” for the soul. I don’t want the 40 days to end

This book was interesting to me, great small readings each day. But I just didn’t get the great take aways I was hoping for. I believe for many this would be a great read, for me I finished it so that says something.

Are you feeling unsatisfied and hungry no matter what you do or what you eat. Are you roaming through life like a leaf blown in the wind? Are you tired of spinning your wheels? Are you tired of feeling so unsatisfied and weary? Are you wondering what is missing or what you are not doing right? Are you tired of being discouraged and of hearing the loud condemning voice of the enemy? Then it’s time to take the first step into learning how to eat Gods word and be satisfied. This book is not only beautifully written it offers a practical perspective on the word of God. As well as practical doable advice on how to spend time digesting the Word of God.

This book definitely has a specific audience, of which I am one. I have read all the other books by this author, some multitude times. For me, this was my least favorite. Let me note I read this alone. The author is VERY involved with her readers. She is approachable and frequently does online studies. Personally, I did not participate in a group study when reading this; However, I believe you would get more out of this book if you did. I’m quite sure those who participate in a study with others using this book will rave about it.

I was so excited about this book and felt it had such a slow start. She kept referencing “whetting your appetite.” By day 16 I was ready to permanently put the book down. I kept waiting for a recommendation of how to study or an approach, which eventually came, but again very slow to start. - Honestly, I didn’t learn anything new in this book. It had some great imagery and I liked the layout. It was an easy read and divided into small “digestible” sections. Overall, I’ve been a Christian over 40 years and this read isn’t memorable for me; I’ll quickly forget it. In reiteration, I think reading this as a group study would make all the difference.

The 40-day Feast by Wendy Speake is like having your own personal mentor walk with you through scripture. I’ve longed and prayed for someone like Wendy to come alongside me and show me how to take up all the tools God has given us and put them to work. I’ve learned to feast on the Word of God like never before. Just like you would go back for seconds or thirds on a delicious meal,Wendy shifts that same desire toward the Word. The revelation that you can return for more than just your morning “meal” has been life changing for me. I now keep a Bible in the kitchen to remind myself to have additional helpings throughout the day. This book is a beautiful and practical discipleship program at your fingertips. So thankful!

Wendy Speake has done it again! I've been privileged to be part of the launch teams for "The 40 Day Sugar Fast" and "The 40 Day Social Media Fast". When I saw that "The 40 Day Feast" was coming out, I watched for the launch team announcement! Getting the email that I was part of the launch team gave me such joy!

I didn't realize when I signed up for the launch team exactly how much I would need the nourishment and encouragement provided within these pages. "The 40 Day Feast" entered my life at a time when I really needed it...and I didn't know I needed it so badly until I started reading.

Wendy notes that "The consequences of Adam and Eve's sin was a physical separation from God. Unfortunately, we've all experienced the same wayward tendencies and the same sad consequence. But God, in His longing for us, refuses to leave us in our sin and separation." I don't know if I can truly describe how encouraging this quote is to me. I was in such a place of struggle and doubt. Knowing that God sacrificed His own Son because He loves me too much to leave me in sin and separation from Him.

My desire for reading the Word of God and communing with Him has truly been refreshed through these 40 devotionals (I may have read more than one a day because they're so good)! I am looking forward to continuing in my growth and desire for the Word of God!

Reading The 40-Day Feast every day is teaching me how to feast on God's Word as never before. I've tried several 40 day plans in the past and I last about a week. I wanted to, but hadn't consistently read the Bible on a daily basis before now. With this book I look forward to the devotion and Bible readying everyday. I highly recommend this book.
