This book definitely has a specific audience, of which I am one. I have read all the other books by this author, some multitude times. For me, this was my least favorite. Let me note I read this alone. The author is VERY involved with her readers. She is approachable and frequently does online studies. Personally, I did not participate in a group study when reading this; However, I believe you would get more out of this book if you did. I’m quite sure those who participate in a study with others using this book will rave about it.

I was so excited about this book and felt it had such a slow start. She kept referencing “whetting your appetite.” By day 16 I was ready to permanently put the book down. I kept waiting for a recommendation of how to study or an approach, which eventually came, but again very slow to start. - Honestly, I didn’t learn anything new in this book. It had some great imagery and I liked the layout. It was an easy read and divided into small “digestible” sections. Overall, I’ve been a Christian over 40 years and this read isn’t memorable for me; I’ll quickly forget it. In reiteration, I think reading this as a group study would make all the difference.

The 40-day Feast by Wendy Speake is like having your own personal mentor walk with you through scripture. I’ve longed and prayed for someone like Wendy to come alongside me and show me how to take up all the tools God has given us and put them to work. I’ve learned to feast on the Word of God like never before. Just like you would go back for seconds or thirds on a delicious meal,Wendy shifts that same desire toward the Word. The revelation that you can return for more than just your morning “meal” has been life changing for me. I now keep a Bible in the kitchen to remind myself to have additional helpings throughout the day. This book is a beautiful and practical discipleship program at your fingertips. So thankful!

Wendy Speake has done it again! I've been privileged to be part of the launch teams for "The 40 Day Sugar Fast" and "The 40 Day Social Media Fast". When I saw that "The 40 Day Feast" was coming out, I watched for the launch team announcement! Getting the email that I was part of the launch team gave me such joy!

I didn't realize when I signed up for the launch team exactly how much I would need the nourishment and encouragement provided within these pages. "The 40 Day Feast" entered my life at a time when I really needed it...and I didn't know I needed it so badly until I started reading.

Wendy notes that "The consequences of Adam and Eve's sin was a physical separation from God. Unfortunately, we've all experienced the same wayward tendencies and the same sad consequence. But God, in His longing for us, refuses to leave us in our sin and separation." I don't know if I can truly describe how encouraging this quote is to me. I was in such a place of struggle and doubt. Knowing that God sacrificed His own Son because He loves me too much to leave me in sin and separation from Him.

My desire for reading the Word of God and communing with Him has truly been refreshed through these 40 devotionals (I may have read more than one a day because they're so good)! I am looking forward to continuing in my growth and desire for the Word of God!

Reading The 40-Day Feast every day is teaching me how to feast on God's Word as never before. I've tried several 40 day plans in the past and I last about a week. I wanted to, but hadn't consistently read the Bible on a daily basis before now. With this book I look forward to the devotion and Bible readying everyday. I highly recommend this book.

I am a fan of this mindset - that we feast on his word. I think this is an Interesting mindset apart from her two fasting books. Wendy has a wonderful way of coaching and convicting us all based on the truth of the Lord.

This book is a good book for someone who struggles to read the Bible daily because it provides small stories to connect to scripture. It’s extremely inviting and easy to understand. For people who read the Bible consistently this book is still for you because it can help you go deeper in your studies and see things you haven’t seen before.

Wendy does an excellent job explaining the Bible from a simplistic and relational approach. Excellent source!

Such a lovely book. This is a 40-day devotional all about the Word of God. This book helps us to get an appetite for the Bible, savor each bite, and apply biblical truths to our daily lives. Whether you read your Bible daily or not, this book will have golden nuggets for you to enjoy. I have read each of Wendy’s 40-day devotional books and I have found each one to be rich with insight and encouragement. This book was no exception and I will be going through it again.

I found the book clear, the stories relevant and new, and the portion of scripture to read each day not overwhelming.

I absolutely love this book. Wendy has a way to make The Bible come more alive. God has used this book to impact my life in an amazing way as he has drawn me closer to him. Each Daily devotional builds on the prior days devotional. This book is very well written, and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to fall in love with The Bible and Jesus all over again.

This great spirit inspired devotional does not disappoint. Even though it’s wonderful to preview Wendy’s insights, I can hardly wait to begin the study with her. I a m Looking forward to receive my preordered 40 Day feast when it is released. Highly recommend!!
