Detective Adam Taylor's niece Frankie has gone missing. He's desperate to find her, worried that she, like other girls her age may have been trafficked. FBI SA Kendall Beck partners with him, as she has in the past. Canny readers of the genre might feel certain that Frankie will be found but Sparks does a good job with the twists- and with making the reader question how the two different cases in the novel intertwine. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. I missed the first book (and therefore, no doubt, some of the set up for this one) but it was fine as a standalone. A good topical read.

I was able to have both audio and digital copy for this novel . Loved having the option to read at home and listen to at work. Solid 4 star mystery. My first time reading a book by this author and did not disappoint. Thank you for NetGalley

A well written story with lots going on.
Every Missing Girl is book number two in the Kendall Beck series. This can be read as a standalone with no issue.
Two intertwining cases…..full of suspenseful moments.
A must read for thriller lovers.
Looking forward to the next book in the series!

I want to preface that I didn’t read the first book of the series but it didn’t seem to matter much. I am absolutely torn on how to rate this book. So here are my thoughts…I was absolutely swept away by the plot of this book. It hook, lined, and sinkered me. Many reviews have discussed the believability of the plot, but I cannot say it was believable or not as I’m not in the field. It definitely felt like a police procedural show like Criminal Minds or CSI. The ending was super unique and was unlike any thriller I’ve read. It totally had me gasping. Now this is where I’m torn. The writing style wasn’t my cup of tea. I wanted more characterization (maybe that was in the first book), more setting, more suspense, more showing. It was subpar in my opinion. But the plot made up for that.

I think I’m going to rate this ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ because I was so engrossed in the plot and the ending left me speechless.

Anticipating another great read, I was happy to see that Netgalley was offering the second book in the series of Kendall Beck, FBI special Agent, by Leanne Kale Sparks. This stand alone thriller has murder in a convenience store with clues that don’t add up, selling of drugs to underage kids and abductions of young girls. Kendall and her partner, Adam, feel as if they are twisting in the wind with their two cases fast going cold, they race to an explosive conclusion. Thank you Netgalley and Crooked Lane Books for this ARC. I will be eagerly awaiting the next Kendal Beck book! This review and my comments are my honest review.

The story starts with a shooting in a convenience store in a bad part of Denver. The clerk draws a gun when a guy comes in and wants the cash in the till. He has a gun too. Shots are exchanged. Even an innocent bystander in the store gets a chance to take some shots before leaving with a young girl who came in with the robber. The robber and the clerk both die and Detective Adam Taylor leads the investigation.

The first thing they learn is that the young girl had been kidnapped and was set to be trafficked. She provides clues about who lured her out of her home. It looks that Taylor and his team have found a pretty complex trafficking operation. FBI Agent Kendell Beck gets involved because she works crime against children.

But when Adam's niece Frankie disappears from the hockey arena where she's playing while Adam, Kendall, and Frankie's parents are watching, the trafficking case gets close to home and really personal for both Adam and Kendall.

The story was a tension-filled hunt to find the missing Frankie before she disappears into the trafficking network. But with tensions between her mom and dad, kidnap by traffickers might be a second option to her running away. Family secrets are outed but still waste a lot of time that could be used searching for Frankie.

Along the way other crimes are discovered including drug dealing by Frankie's hockey coach which also might have given him some reason to want to do harm to Frankie.

This was a great story with lots of twists and turns. Fans of thrillers can't help but enjoy this one. I especially liked Kendall's sarcastic nature.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.
Great book. I will now have to read the first book in the series since I enjoyed this one so much. I’m looking forward to more in this series!

This is the second book of Kendall Beck series but I haven't read the first book of the series though it didn't really matter when I started reading this.

FBI agent Kendall Beck and homicide detective Adam Taylor team up together to solve a kidnapping case though it becomes cold. However, Taylor's niece, Frankie suddenly vanishes after a practice and soon the case becomes personal. And soon they begin a cat and mouse chase game as they realise there are other girls who had been abducted and missing.

The beginning of the story was intriguing and mind hopping. I was completely engrossed into the story. However, in the middle of the book, it wasn't very compelling but the pace was good and it helped me to get interested in the book. There were twists and turns and the ending was what actually made my breath drew away--it was really great. I was literally hooked on the end. Overall, if you like an engaging police procedural then try out this book--I am looking forward to read the third book of the series. Worth four stars.

Many thanks to Netgally and the publisher for the ARC. The review is based on my honest opinion only.

SO GOOD!! I had no idea it was part of a series but the author does a fabulous job of creating a stand alone plot. Thanks netgalley & the publisher for the ARC, in exchange for an honest review. I look forward to reading more of the author's work.

I received an ARC of this novel from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

The novel is about law enforcement, local and FBI, who investigate supposedly interconnected cases that involve missing girls. Some of the plot twists aren't believable--like the officer's niece being a victim, but the novel good overall. The plot twist at the end was unexpected.

This was my first by this author, I found parts to be rivetng then other parts to be snoozers. This was a bit dry and slower than my usual reads. 2.5 STAR

What a book! The main characters Kendall and Adam are incredibly likable. I would like to imagine that if I were an FBI agent, I'd be a little like Kendall. She's bad ass and pretty all at the same time. The subject matter, though, probably isn't for the faint of heart. Telling the stories of endangered and exploited children rarely is, however, Sparks does this magnificently.

I really really liked this book. It kept me interested. The very first chapter I was hooked. I think I read like 15 chapters in one night and for me that’s good because I was enjoying it. I even went and bought the first book.

This was a gripping read & a great second book in the Kendall Beck series. Just like in The Wrong Woman, there’s a personal connection to a case that Kendall & Adam are working on - Adam’s niece has gone missing. I was hooked from the start, with a double homicide & the rescue of an abducted girl, but the tight-lipped responses from those interviewed about Frankie had me wanting to know what secrets they hid. Some I was able to guess just before they were revealed, but most had my jaw in the floor! I thought this was paced really well and it never seemed to lag at any point. Kendall & Adam work really well together, and I really like seeing a pairing that can be friends rather than them becoming a couple. And that ending - that was done so well! It didn’t need to be flashy or a cliffhanger; it was understated & just what was needed. This was an enjoyable ready and I already can’t wait for the next in the series!

I really enjoyed this book - so much so that I purchased the first one in the series. The banter was dark but funny and I loved the character development.

This one follows an FBI type crime case. I like stories like this. This book kept me hooked from the beginning and I read through it so fast. This author was new to me.

Yet again, I have unknowingly picked up a book that is the second in a series. It was not a problem though. It explained any backstory that was really necessary to know. FBI Agent Kendall Beck finds missing children. Her friend Adam Taylor is with the Denver Homicide team. They are investigating a case involving a double murder and possible child trafficking, when Adam's niece disappears after her hockey game. This was a quick read, and while the subject of sex trafficking of children isn't a joy, it kept my interest. 3.5 stars rounded to 3.

This book kept me reading until the last page. It has great characters, who are very relatable. You feel the parents pain and you can’t imagine how the FBI deals with cases like this everyday. It had a good storyline with a lot going on, but you are able to figure out some of it before it is discovered by the characters. It does have topics that can be triggering to readers. I was given an ARC through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This book was just too slow and too narrated for me to get into. I felt the characters were not realistic and the story was a bit overdone.

Every Missing Girl is Leanne Kale Sparks’ second novel in the Kendall Beck series. The book is due out February 7, 2023. Thanks NetGalley for my arc. I wasn’t aware this was part of a series however, it was so good I’m going to read her first novel!

Overview: Special Agent Beck, an FBI agent, specializes in crimes against children. She and local Denver PD detective Adam Taylor are working a double homicide at a local convince store where a young missing girl is recovered. (Their partnership and personal connection developed in Sparks’ first book.) Later that evening Adam’s niece, 12 year old Frankie, goes missing from her hockey game. Are the two related, did Frankie runaway, how does someone take a child when there are two law enforcement officials mere feet away?

This suspension thriller follows both cases and a myriad of suspects as they try and find Frankie before time runs out.

Overall this was a good read. Some of the leads and story lines were muddied or unresolved but didn’t take away from the book itself. It’s not necessary to read Sparks’ first novel: The Wrong Woman however you have time before this release so you may want to add that to your list as well.
