The way I loved this book!!!

Between the swoony romance with a lot of pining- there was endometriosis rep in such a REAL way. Not to mention honest representation of someone with crippling anxiety. There was so much love and feeling and I just had goose bumps the whole time. I felt that both subjects were handled well and gave validation for those living with anxiety and endo.

Also, I had never read a book that went from strangers to friends to lovers. WE NEED MORE OF THIS! Friends to lovers is my favorite category because I feel that the couple really knows each other before falling in love, which is more realistic in my opinion. It was so well done here.

OK one more thing- the roommates!!!! They stole the show. I loved them so much- especially Graham. They added such a great layer to the story and gave comedic relief from some heavier topics.

Did I mention I loved this book? I can't wait for more from this author and I can't wait for more readers to fall in love in January.

This book was a great feel good romance while tying in real life issues that don’t get as much representation in romance novels. We get to meet Lucy who is a novelist with her service dog Rowan, travelling to LA when she meets Henry Turner one of her favourite composers who happens to be very handsome and offers her a place to stay when her plans fall through. These characters felt very real and relatable and both main characters are dealing with personal problems. The friendships that were formed in this book are some of the best I have read and there isn’t one that I would pick as my favourite above the others. This is different to the type of romance books I usually pick up which is more alpha male grumpy sunshine style so I was very surprised that I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

(4.5⭐️) Perfect for fans of the show “New girl”!!! This book really did have me speechless. The chronic illness representation is amazing, and it really delves into the insecurities, doubts, and struggles that come along with that. Not only that, it also depicted with someone who struggles with severe social anxiety in a very honest way. I love seeing these two characters slowly accepting themselves and wholeheartedly accepting each other despite their own insecurities. This was such a beautiful story, I enjoyed every second of it. The romance was literally so amazing. I love both of these characters, as well as all of the side characters! They were all so well developed and lovable and felt so real. Taylor Swift songs for this book would be “Afterglow”, “Call it what you want” and “Delicate” (also London boy bc we love British male main characters)! There was so much emotional depth and heart to this story that it was impossible not to love. I highly recommend this book!! Lindsey Lanza’s writing is truly incredible, it deserves so much hype. Dare I say it, Lanza rivals Emily Henry… anyways, I highly recommend this book!!

Age rating: 16+ (a couple adult scenes, about as steamy as Emily Henry books)

Thank you to Netgalley for providing an ebook advanced copy.

Speechless is such a sweet and heartwarming read! Lucy and Henry’s relationship was so special, and I loved all the supporting characters, especially Rowan ❤️ The writer did a wonderful job shining light on illnesses that aren’t always talked about. That made me love this book even more. This was such an enjoyable book that I couldn’t put down! I’m looking forward to reading more from Lindsey Lanza!

CW: anxiety, divorce, infertility, chronic pain

Henry and Lucy's story is such a sweet, tender depiction of loving somewhere where they are. Henry struggles with anxiety (and what I assume is selective mutism) but is able to let his guard down around Lucy. Speechless is funny, touching, and has just the right amount of tension and slow burn. I loved the screenplay music dynamic and how Lucy used music as therapy long before she met Henry. It was such a beautiful parallel the way listening saved one, while composing saved the other. Without giving any spoilers, Lindsey Lanza handled Lucy's journey with endometriosis in a very compassionate and organic way. There was not a "one size fits all" solution to what she was going through - and it never felt like her pain was minimized or put into a box to make others more comfortable. I love how Henry's personality was able to shine and his sense of humor made sneaky appearances. Speechless is a novel of love, second chances, and the ways joy and pain can coexist.
Such a lovely book that I was glad to read!

This was such a great debut, honestly it is beautifully written I fell in love with the story I couldn't put it down. It definitely was a rollercoaster of emotion like I find myself crying once and then laughing the next but overall it was truly such a light read you find yourself completely submerged into the story with such deep love and understanding for the main character.
It has a great representation for chronic illness and brings such awareness to it and how much it could impact the person suffering from it mentally and physically especially if you don't have a support system backing you up also the author made me fell seen when it comes to dealing with severe anxiety and how much it could affect your life.
It also highlighted the struggles and mental pressure that a lot of women if not all deal with due to sociatel expectations of whether they choose to have children or not, I feel like this topic should be talked about more.
Now to the fun part, Henry was such a sweetheart I love him so much he is literally the embodiment of what the standard should be, like the definition of the boy obsessed with his girl and will do pretty much anything just to see her smile and I love that so much!!!
I'll most definitely be rereading it!

Some books are memorable enough to capture a sacred place in your heart and taint your soul! This is absolutely one of them! It makes your heart sing!

Lucy Gold and Henry Turner’s meeting at a plane story starts like modern fairy tale/ promising romcom but then it turns into something so special, unique! My emotions are everywhere!

I want to give those characters long hugs! Especially to Henry! And they are not the only perfect things about this book! The playful surfer Graham, wise and loyal Preston, flirty- fun Jayce, sweetest guardian dog Rowan, best friend-confidante Dami are the best supporting characters! Each of them is so perfect!

It also approaches to the sensitive mental and physical health issues such as endometriosis and selective mutism.

My heart ache so much for Lucy and Henry who has been getting through so much heavy tragedies. But I adore their strength and their characters’ evolving by getting out of their shelves.

Quick recap of the story: Lucy Gold at the age of thirty, freshly divorced, deciding to make changes in her life by moving to Los Angeles with her dog Rowan but at the last minute her girlfriend she’s planned to stay at her place, calls her to tell she is not welcomed after she got together with her boyfriend.

Lucy’s worst day miraculously turns into most special day of her life because the tall and handsome stranger she’s met at airport is the composer she’s been fangirling for years. With the help of music, she heals from her both physical and invisible emotional injuries! His music healed her soul! Now he sits the next to her at the airplane and makes an offer she cannot reject! He offers her to stay at her guest room of his house he’s sharing with musician friends. Lucy thinks she can stay few days till she finds a new apartment. But when they drive to the place, she realizes he lives at a mansion in Malibu with four gorgeous musicians! And three of them are so friendly!

As she spends more time with those people, she realizes she finds real friends who accepts her as she is. But she is curious why Henry lives a hermit life and has some problems to communicate with new people. When Henry opens up with his big secret, she understands she’s not the only one who is broken. Maybe they can help each other to break their walls to embrace the life without fear! Can they or will they?

No more words! The angsty parts of the book broke my heart and at some parts I wanted to yell at Lucy to give a chance to her happiness and I ugly cried- laughed out loud during my read! It awakened so many emotions I buried! I loved it!

Many thanks to NetGalley and Victoria Editing for sharing this amazing digital reviewer copy with me in exchange my honest thoughts.

Lucy is dealing with so much loss. She is 30, freshly divorced, and leaving her current home to move to LA for her old college roommate and best friend. Except while waiting on her plan that old friend tells her she can’t come to her home anymore. Lucy is stuck and doesn’t know what to do. But fate has different plans.

Henry Turner is a quiet soul. He knows he isn’t the best socially, but something about the girl across from him makes him want to at least say hi. She is humming these familiar tunes and has to know why. When she says she weirdly listening to movies scores that bring her joy, he is basically speechless. She is listening to his work and doesn’t even know who he is.

These two meet in an airport, and through bad luck and maybe some fate, Lucy ends up agreeing to stay with Henry in his house because it’s that or a hotel. This is a slow burn romance, these two deal with a lot of different trauma, and while they don’t always fully open up about it, they do slowly give themselves to each other. I love all the suppprting characters such as Graham who is the best friend we probably all need, and let’s not forget sweet little Rowan who probably is the star of the show 🐶

This book had me laughing, wishing I could also live at Henry‘a Malibu house, and gave such a genuine look into chronic pain and invisible disabilities to show that not everyone understands but when you find those that do you keep them close.

This turned out to be a good book. The whole staying with strangers wasn’t weird as it honestly could have been. I loved how the love story played out but I wish we didn’t spend so much time worrying about how Henry was going to accept Lucy’s past and how her condition changes her future. It is an understandable fear for the character but it took so long in the book for it to come out properly. I really loved Henry’s character and how perfect he was for Lucy!

A Five-star read that will leave you speechless. I simply adored this story, I am so excited to hear more from this author, as they just made me smile so much. All of HAAAM had moments that made me smile, but it was Rowan and Henry that won my heart over and made me melt like a malibu sunrise. When I realised it’s a debut, that just blew my mind, the talent in these pages are great, the storytelling is like a fairy-tale, the character development is second to none, you really care about them all, even those who you don’t always like. Lucy Gold is someone who has so much strength, and the way she deals with her situation is just so real, you do want to bury your head, but sometimes you need to put those big girl pants on and face reality, no matter how hard. I don’t know if it was just as I face the same struggles, but man it made me love Lucy so much. Do not miss this story, as it shows promise of being one of the best reads of 2023.

If i could give this 10 stars, i 100% would.
Lindsey did an absolutely amazing job shining light on so much importance. 2 very real “invisible illnesses” are portrayed throughout this novel and she did absolutely amazing job portraying them.

🎶 EGOT MC, heavy music presence
🖤 Strangers to friends to lovers
📚 DUAL POV
🐶 Service Dog
⭐️ Chronic Illness Representation

I am in love with the way music held such an important role within this story. Lucy and Henry, both, go through so much development over the story, truly fighting so many battles within their health, her mental state and just in the relationships they have within their lives.

HENRY. OMG. SWOOOOON. I am so obsessed with henry. There was so many times i found myself going OMG HENRY IS JUST THE MOST PERFECT, SWEETEST EVER. I found their love story to be more realistic in terms of their worries throughout the entire novel.

GRAHAM. I am obsessed with him. Everyone needs a Graham.

I loved all the modern, pop culture references as well - TOG, TSwift and TVD.

THE ENTIRE FINALE PORTION I WAS BALLING.

The characters in this novel are so relatable and that makes the story and what they encounter and go through so much more important and close to your heart.

THIS IS 100% ONE YOU WANNA PREORDER. JANUARY 2023!

WOW. Lindsey Lanza's writing debut truly left me Speechless! (pun intended). A bookstagrammer turned writer, what more is there to love?! For all of my bookstagram friends, you'll love all of the bookish moments mentioned. I related to Lucy so much, and it was so amazing to read about a character like her. Although I was never married, my ex-fiancé did leave me just weeks before my wedding, leaving me devastated. I too, like Lucy, moved across the country. And although it wasn't on my first flight moving, I happened to meet a really cute pilot who cared for me like no one ever has before. (Spoiler alert -- that pilot and I are now married). I loved the characters, the complexity of Lucy and Henry and the layers of everything that they were dealing with individually, and how that would come to impact any idea of a relationship between the two of them.

This book was the perfect slow burn romance, that had me laughing out loud, swooning at the romance, and clutching the book in tears by the end of it. The chronic illness representation blew me away. As someone who deals with an invisible illness (I have narcolepsy), it's a struggle to communicate needs and receive compassion from others. Lindsey did a phenomenal job regarding this aspect of Lucy's character -- especially the juxtaposition of her ex not taking her seriously for it, to then Henry seeing it as another way to care for her and love her. It goes to show readers, especially those with similar struggles, that there are those people out there who will love and care for you, regardless of what illness you may have.

I can't wait to read the final copy once the book is released next January. Everyone must mark their calendars to buy this once it's released! It's bound to be a top romance of 2023!

For a debut novel, it sure hit hard. I think that Lindsey Lanza may become one of my auto-buy authors if she can keep up this momentum! Loved the chemistry between Lucy and Henry. I could definitely relate to Henry with his social anxiety. I read this whole book in one sitting! It pulled at my heartstrings and made me laugh. It had everything. Also, the cover is so cute. Will definitely buy for my bookshelf when it comes out next year!

5⭐️ for Lindsey Lanza’s debut novel, Speechless!!! Forced proximity, friends to lovers, dual POV. LOVE!!!

At 30 years old, Lucy’s life is not exactly what she expected. After losing her mom to cancer and going through a divorce, Lucy decides it’s time for her (and her furry pup Rowan) to pack up and move across the country to live with her best friend and college roommate in LA. But when her best friend gets back together with her on again-off again boyfriend, Lucy is left homeless (10 minutes before she boards her plane to LA, might I add).

Enter Henry, a successful British (yay!) writer and musical composer with selective mutism and social anxiety disorder, to save the day. Henry swoops in and strikes up a conversation with Lucy, ultimately inviting her to stay with him and his team of 4 other musicians in Malibu. It’s only then that Lucy discovers that the man saving her by offering up his home is actually the man whose music has already been saving her life for years while she dealt with pain due to her chronic illness.

What follows throughout the rest of the novel is a beautiful story about loss, love, grief, and found families.

I laughed, I cried, I wanted these characters to be my friends and family. Graham, Jayce, and Preston had my heart. My heart broke for both Henry and Lucy and they each battled their respective physical and mental health challenges. Lanza deals with the topics of mental health, grief, and chronic illness respectfully and realistically.

The writing style was flawless and kept me thinking about the story long after I should have been asleep. I had to force myself to put it down several times and remember to participate in real life. You do not want to miss out on what is sure to be one of the best novels of 2023!

This book was absolutely adorable and has all the makings of a 5 star romance read! Dual POV? Check. He falls first? Double Check. Taylor Swift and Disney references? Triple Check. This book from a first time author is so cute I couldn’t put it down. Already looking forward to the next from this boom Maestro ;)

After reading this book im feeling two things - OBSESSED and SPEECHLESS! Definitely now one of my favorite reads of the year!

I absolutely LOVED this book from start to finish, I loved all the characters and the overall story was EVERYTHING. Lindsey did such an amazing job writing each and every character in this book; you will not only fall in love with Lucy and Henry but every other character too [even the ones you grow to hate - but even that part of the story was masterful and had a purpose].

I have never read anything like this book; Yes it was an adorable rom-com BUT it was so much more than that. The use of music and the strong meaning behind it was so different and it added so much to the story. It showed how healing music can be before knowing the true importance in not just Lucy's life but in Henry's and the rest of HAAM. Speaking of HAAM - Lindsey not only gave you one guy to obsess over but she gave you FOUR and one adorable dog named Rowan! When you read this you'll understand why. I ADORED Preston, Graham and Jayce so much. The instant bond between all of them and Lucy was so stinking cute, I couldn't get enough of them interacting.

Lucy and Henry together are MAGIC; and after reading this book I can confidently say Henry has now taken one of my top book boyfriend spots of ALL TIME! Even with all of his struggles with anxiety he was attentive, kind, incredibly sweet and adorable in his own Henry way, but he made Lucy find herself again and I loved him even more for that. The spice was just an added bonus that made it that much better!

Lucy's journey in this book was personally painful as I struggle with the same health issues she does - but it wasn't was triggering, it was soothing in a way. You don't get many books like that. I loved the way Lindsey used this book to bring light to what she called an invisible illness because thats essentially what it is. It was a wonderfully done part of the story I'm very grateful for.

To sum up my super long review LOL I laughed out loud, I swooned and I cried AND I really didn't want it to end. I really loved this book and I know you will too!

I decided to request this book because i was OBSESSED with the cover. I stand by that decision, but I'm glad I decided to read it. Henry and Lucy are such a sweet couple and I loved getting to read their story. As a taylor swift fan, i adored the references and other pop culture references as well. I just adored this story and can't wait to get my hands on a physical copy for my bookshelf!

Meeting your music idol. Slow burn romance. Forced proximity. Dual POV.

Lucy has had a run of bad luck, but when she meets Henry on a plane, it all starts to change. She discovers more than just her music idol… also a houseful of new friends and inspiration to start writing again.

Henry has severe anxiety when around new people… except Lucy. Having her around seems to help him come out of his shell and the music is flowing with her as his muse.

Can he be honest with her about his anxiety and the way he feels for her? Can she be honest with him about her medical history and how she feels for him?

Thanks to NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest review. Watch for Speechless to come out January 17, 2023.
