This was only okay for me personally. I felt myself skimming the last couple of chapters. I wasn´t really invested. Had hoped for a bit more intruige.

This book was sent to me electronically by Netgalley for review. Thanks to the publisher for the copy. What a gorgeous book! The author has a great gift for characterisation - nuanced, interesting, believable characters but created with a charming lightness of touch.

The Goddess and the Huntsman follows the perspective of the goddess of the Hearth, who has a vivid and alarming dream. So concerned by this she prepares for a gathering with other goddess to see what can be done. This is a second chance romance and definitely takes a different twist then I was expecting. This story and the writing were very whimsical, atmospheric, and I really liked the communication in this book between all the characters. It was a slow build story, using several plot devices and was very emotional at times.
The style of writing took me a little bit to get used to, but once I did, I really enjoyed it paired with the plot, it gave it an ancient older feeling to the storytelling. I loved the setting on this quiet simple homestead where everything comes from the land. It had a very calming and peaceful sort of feel when describing the land, food, and home of this place.
This book did address past trauma, which I like how it was handled. This story was not just about the romance but more about the goddess herself and sorting through emotions and memories. I did like this book; it would be a great one if you are really interested in Greek mythology and the cover is beautiful and eye-catching with the green and gold.
Trigger warnings: kidnapping, assault, murder
I received this advance ebook, via Netgalley. This review is my own honest opinion.

I quite liked the premise here and I think that in a world of fairytale dominating fantasy, a bit of goddess lore is pretty welcome.
It reminded me most of 'House of Earth and Blood' and crescent city a little. But more urbane, if that is even possible.

I want to start by saying this wasn’t my cup of tea, but overall was a good book I’d recommend to others depending on their reading style. I have nothing negative to say really I just wasn’t sucked in. It was more romance than I anticipated and a lot of it I had to force myself through and I’m a fan of mythology. I do see the time and effort put into the plot and characters and setting so I think it still deserves a good rating.

I thought this book had a fantastic concept, but I struggled some with the actual execution. Unfortunately, I found this one to be too slow and didn't love the writing style.

Thank you to netgalley for providing me with a copy of this novel in exchange for an honest review.

I could not put this book down, from start to finish I was glued to the story as we uncover the layers of why our main Goddess character's backstory was out. The writing is as lush and fruitful as the setting. I loved the collection of Goddesses' that this story has in it taking from all sorts of mythologies, as well as naming lesser-known ones. This book made me run through so many emotions while I read it from eminence sadness to incredible awe.

It more than earned it's spot as one of my five-star books of the year.

This book poses an interesting question - what happens to goddesses when they are no longer worshiped?
A little more Urban Romance than I expected, I give the author props for the world building they accomplished. The main character was great, but the other characters fell flat for me.

Many thanks to Pink Moon Books and Coralie Moss for the advanced copy of The Goddess & the Woodsman via NetGalley, in return for my honest and unbiased review. Quick note: I don’t recap plots in my reviews, as it’s easy enough to read the book’s synopsis and blurbs, I purely focus on my feelings & opinions of how the books makes me feel.

Unfortunately this book really did not work for me. From the very beginning, the language used did not appeal to me. I like a spicy book, but the random extremely sexual language which had no relevance to the situation right at the beginning of the story was very odd.

The dialogue between characters was stilted and did not flow. Either that, or the way I speak to others is not normal and I’m doing it wrong myself!

Sadly the entire book left me feeling bored and I could not get hooked in to it no matter how I tried.

Pace: slow
Character development: weak
Plot or character driven: plot
Diversity: low
Spice: 4/5

Rating 2/5

A big thank you to pink moon books and NetGalley for accepting me to read this book. I’m a big fan of Greek mythology and this book was filled with it. The first few chapters through me off a bit, in terms of writing style. I thought it was weird, but I kept going and I’m glad I did. The story contains a multitude of goddesses in a world where the main character is losing their powers. Due to a lack of worship. The main character has lost a few of her memories, so this is another problem to solve in the plot. I really enjoyed reading about Hekate and her role in the underworld. I also enjoyed reading about Mnemosyne. There was a lot to go on here in this book. There were many other goddesses described or talked about in other mythologies which I thought was amazing. The story contains spice between the main character and the woodsman. The uses of herbs in this story are very rich. The plot of the main character and her resurfacing memories were heartfelt towards the end. I really hope there is a sequel to this book.

DNF at 25%. I wanted to like this book but I was so bored by it. The world building was just not there and I didn't care for any of the characters. This was just very disappointing to me as I didn't like the storyline either.

While the author clearly knows a fair bit about Greek myth, this is more of a fantasy romance and as such didn’t quite land for me. It could have done with a few more passes IMO but the concept was fun (if not especially original). I was expecting more of a humorous romp but found the prose a bit stilted. However S J Maas fans will definitely enjoy this one.

The Goddess & the Woodsman by Coralie Moss, a fun tale of love, and lost memory to tantalize you into wanting more.

Just not my type of book. I was lured in by the premise but the story/style isn't ready something Id stick around for. Definitely read the reviews for people who DO like this genre and storytelling bc that will let you know if it's a book to pick up.

This book didn't really work for me. The lack of any kind of worldbuilding made it difficult for me to connect with the characters and, well the world itself.

The concept was really interesting, but with little context for who these characters were before the start of the book, I found myself uninterested in much of what went on.

I don't really know what this novel was, but I wouldn't categorize it as sci-fi/fantasy. This was more like an urban mythology "romance" and not what I expected. I didn't like any of the characters and nothing much happened besides planning the get together until about 35%. By that time I was bored and couldn't care less. Also the love interest and Habonde had zero chemistry, besides plain old lusty feelings for each other. The setting didn't work for me at all and the dialogue was cringy.

Sadly I didn't enjoy this at all.

This book is a fun modern take on Greek mythology. The goddess’ have social media and some are even influencers!

I loved the relationship between the woodsman and Habonde and there was a lot of interesting world building.

I would definitely recommend this to fans of Greek mythology and spicy relationships!

This isn’t for me. Immediately picking this up I didn’t like it. The main character was annoying and I didn’t get on with the writing style. A great concept but not well executed.

Thank you NetGalley for a chance to read The Goddess & the Woodsman. I wanted to love this but I couldn’t finish it. I picked this book up and put it down 10+ times. I did not like the characters, the world, or the writing style.
