Magical Rescue Vets as a book series is such a fantastic set of books for young readers. I loved the story and the characters and everything about the world. I can definitely say that I’ve keep this series in my mind for my students.

It’s funny, because I didn’t really care for the book in this series about the baby Yeti, but it was so much fun to read about the Sea Dragon. I think the author really hit her stride with this one and I can’t wait for a whole generation of kiddos to grow up on such a fun series.

I absolutely LOVE this series. This is the first one in the series that I read that deals with underwater creatures and it was absolutely magical. If you haven't read this series, you really need to start it. If you have kids 1st to 5th grade, I highly recommend this series. It's whimsical and light-hearted. Major themes of care and treatment of respect to animals and friendship.

Magical Rescue Vets: Suki the Sea Dragon is another magical adventure for Kat and Rosie, two girls who volunteer at the Calico Comfrey vet surgery. When they find a sea dragon in trouble, they eagerly spring into action to help the dragon and the mer-people from a mysterious monster.

Meanwhile, the girls still have school, and Kat is struggling with learning difficulties. With the help of the gnomic doctors at the vet clinic, Kat learns to believe in herself and stand up for what she believes in.

This was another fun adventure that my 7yo really enjoyed. I think I preferred it over others in this series, as it included the challenges of a child struggling at school, and the power of being oneself.

Lovely magical story. Seems too be a lot happening though. Even I add an adult struggled to keep up with watch new turn off events. But each chapter was like a little story in it's self

We requested this to share and read for our daughters. It's the first book that we read from the Magical Rescue Vets series. The story was magical and engaging. It was a great introduction to this series and we are looking forward to continuing the journey.

I am curious if there is a first book of the series that kind of sets up this world? Personally I would start there with my daughter, but we dove into this one anyway.

You meet Kat and Rosie that help at magical vet clinic. This novel is perfect for igniting childhood imagination. I'd say it's okay to read aloud to children as young as 5 depending on your child's interest and attention span. Independently, probably geared more towards 7-8?

This book contains a lot of really fun magical creatures but also keeps in grounded with relatable interactions and problems. Real life lessons that can be applied but enough fun to keep it super entertaining. Definitely seems like a fun series!

These are super short reads for me but absolutely darling tales of magical creatures and those who protect them. I wish this had been a little more focused on Suki and not so much on the creepy critter in the lake. I wish I lived along the edge of a magic forest and could help take care of critters like these. Rosie and Kat's friendship is also charming in the way they reinforce each other's strengths and help with their weaknesses. If only all friends could be so loyal.

I love these books even though I am quite far from the target audience. A must for any reader of magical creature lore and not at all scary to read at bedtime. The illustrations are a wonderful accompaniment to the stories.

As you can see, this book is very young, so I asked, because I am a mother, so I knew in advance that this book would immediately please my children.

The relationship between Kat and Rosie is very touching, the pen is very fluid and very accessible to the smallest. The story speaks of friendship, benevolence, magic, love. My daughter really liked Suki the Sea Dragon that made her think of Sisou the Dragon in RAYA.

The values transmitted in this book are very noble, the questions that children during the reading proves that this book is very well done. The goal is for them to understand that they should not judge others.

You will have understood, this little book is a beautiful nugget for the big and small.

** “No one in the world is good at everything … We all have different strengths and weaknesses." **

Melody Lockhart takes readers on a magical journey in “Suki the Sea Dragon,” an adorable story with equally adorable illustrations.

When the sea creatures suddenly become afraid to be in the lake, Kat and Rosie set out to help the vets at the magical Calico Comfrey’s Veterinary Surgery in Starfall Forest figure out what’s going on. Can a fun-loving sea dragon help them find what’s scaring everyone out of the lake? Or will the underwater creatures have to cancel the once-every-100-years Pearl Moon Festival?

And while they’re trying to figure out the mystery of the monster, Kat feels like she just can’t do anything right — she has trouble spelling and trouble helping Dr. Hart while creating her special potions. Will she ever accept her mistakes?

“Suki the Sea Dragon” helps us celebrate our differences. It reminds us that it is hard not to worry when things keep going wrong; mistakes help you learn; and the importance of being brave.

Lockhart’s tale, which is digitally due out Nov. 15, is a fun story that kids of all ages will love.

Five stars out of five.

This was such an adorable read! The characters were so cute and who doesn’t love a sea dragon. A prefect read for any young vet to be.

The illustrations in these books are great, I love how detailed the creatures are. My favorite illustrations in this book were Suki and the peanut butter and jellyfish. This was another fun installment in the Magical Rescue Vets series. I love how Dr. Hart teaches the girls to ask questions and not make judgements and I also love how supportive of each other Kat and Rosie are.

Looking forward to reading the next chapter book in this series.

We have read all the previous Magical Rescue Vets books and this one is probably my favorite. Kat and Rosie are best friends who have a secret, they can go into the forest and help the magical creatures who need their help. In each book they work through problems both in the magical forest and in their own personal lives. If you’re looking for a book with a character who learns she might have Dyslexia, in this book Kat discovers that she may have Dyslexia and that it may explain why she has trouble with reading and writing. It is always nice to see new books that have characters with Dyslexia. This is another great book in the Magical Rescue Vets series. I can’t wait to read the next one with my kids.

It's the first book that I've read from the Magical Rescue Vets series. The story is so magical and engaging. It is also cute middle grade story. I love it. Thank you for giving me the arc.

This is a young Middle Grade book, and this book is part of the Magical Rescue Vets series. I have read and reviewed several of the other books in this series. I really enjoy this series. This book is a really cute story with some really fun characters. I really love the message and the imagination in this book. I received an ARC of this book. This review is my own honest opinion about the book like all my reviews are.

Took a bit to get through this one with my six year old but as long as we took it just a few pages at a time she stayed engaged fairly well.

I think she’s enjoy this book quite a bit when she’s around eight years old!

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the arc in exchange for an honest review

Another cute addition to the Magical Rescue Vets series. A story filled with plenty of imagination and unique creatures. My daughter loved the story and the originality. There was also a nice lesson on not giving up and facing insecurities.

This is incorrectly tagged as a graphic novel. It's a middle grade book. Giving it 3 stars because it still sounds cute.

This book captured my children's attention with it's silly creatures, the friendship between Kat and Rosie. and wonderfully written storyline. These 2 best friends rescue and care for all the enchanted creatures they come across like Suki the Sea Dragon. It teaches about friendship, how everyone has different interests and that's more than okay. We're each special and magical the way we are. Also, how things that are easy for one may not be for another and to show compassion and empathy. It's definitely a book I'd recommend and an author I'll be reading more of.

Thank you to Melody Lockhart, Morgan Huff, Arcturus Publishing, and Netgalley for this ARC!

Despite being part of a series, this book reads as a standalone adventure and is a fun, engaging tale that sparks the imagination. Kat and Rosie know something most people don't. Magical creatures exist. Not only that, those creatures need help sometimes just like any other animal or pet. They are Magical Rescue Vets!

The two are working at Calico Comfrey's Veterinary Surgery helping to rescue and care for magical creatures of Starfall Forest, such as dragons and unicorns. In this adventure, something is scaring the residents of the lake and they are all afraid of the monster. But looks can be deceiving and maybe there is more to this so called monster.

A great lesson on not listening to what others say about someone, getting to know someone who may be different. Appearances shouldn't be judged, instead kids learn to go by people's actions and character. There is a mystery to be solved that will keep kids wanting to read to the end. There are great illustrations along the way, bridging young reader picture books with first chapter books.

This book is apparently part of a series and I didn't know that. But that didn't get in the way of my enjoyment of this installment in the series. I could enjoy it without feeling lost. The illustrations were really cute and I enjoyed the characters well enough. Although I have a slight complaint and it is about the cover. It depicts what looks like a black girl and in the story there were no black girls so it sort of felt quite deceptive to me so this is just a heads up for anyone who wants to read this based purely on the cover
