Very competent and pictorial guide to the bee, from how they operate and what they do in the hives we make them, to why they're dying out and what that means. Very well pitched, so if the school library needs such a volume still, this – for the under-eights at least – should easily be considered. A strong four stars.

This is a great non fiction book for young children, to educate about bees and the impact they have on our environment.

The book was informative and beautifully illustrated. I even learnt facts myself!

In terms of reading level, I would say this is aged for 8 and above however my 6 year old was able to retain and recall facts easily.

Thank you to Net Galley for an advanced ARC.

Thank you for this free copy. Here is my unbiased and honest review on #bees. This was a great mentor text and/or example text for non-fiction writing. Lots of kids age 4-8 are enamored with non-fiction and animal books. This book had awesome pictures, zoomed-in and detailed images. It taught a lot of relevant details about bees, their importance, and their impact on the world. The text presented important features that we teach in reading and writing non-fiction, including headings, conclusions, and definitions. I know many kids would love this just purely for their interest in bees.
