Here is an author that always gets 5 stars from me and her latest was no different! A Score To Settle by Caz Finlay is the eighth book in the Carter family series and it was another excellent read from start to finish.

Grace Carter has retired to Spain with her loving husband Michael and their two young children. Whilst enjoying the sun and atmosphere her phone rings! Her worst nightmare happens! Her granddaughter goes missing! Grace and her family rushes back to Liverpool with her sons to find out why her granddaughter was taken.

Yes! Grace Carter is Back!!!! The Grace we all no and she will not Stop at anything to find her!

This latest book is gritty and full of great twists and turns throughout.
I highly recommend this latest book I loved it.

This is one of my favourite series, set in Liverpool and featuring the Carter crime family. The family is in pieces after the kidnapping of Grace's young granddaughter, with no clues as to the identity of the people involved. I love Grace, she is gutsy, determined and clever but can she find the child before time runs out? Excellent writing, multiple threads and the ending to a great series. Thanks to Net Galley for my ARC.

Grace Carter is a loving grandmother who has just received the shock of her life. Her beloved granddaughter has been kidnapped and they have no idea who could be responsible or why they would take such drastic action against their family. The Carters are determined to get to the bottom of this mystery and find out who’s behind this heinous crime but it won’t be easy. As they dig deeper, they discover that there are more questions than answers and soon realize that someone out there is targeting them in a very personal way.

If you're looking for an exciting read with plenty of twists and turns, then look no further than the Bad Blood Series by author Caz Finlay, especially this latest instalment, ‘A Score to Settle’. Her fast-paced, gripping stories follow a gangland family based in Liverpool. Grace and Michael have retired to Spain with their two youngest children and left their sons in charge of the family businesses. Jake and Sibohan’s daughter, eight-year-old Isla goes missing, initially, they think she has just wandered off until they realise that things aren’t quite as they seem.

A Score to Settle explores revenge in the worst possible way as Grace's family struggles to uncover the truth behind her granddaughter's disappearance. You'll be on the edge of your seat as you follow along with Grace and her family as they try desperately to bring their little girl home safely. With so many enemies though, it's difficult to work out who could be responsible.

The characters in this series are wonderful, especially Grace herself whose courage and determination know no bounds when it comes to protecting her family. It's also great to see her return after being absent in some of Finlay's earlier books. Throughout the story, we accompany Jake on his mission to save his daughter while also discovering what really happened that fateful day when she went missing.

This is the eighth book in the series and the final of the series which I have loved. I am going to really miss catching up with this gangland family who knows no bounds when loving and protecting each other, or indeed when torturing people to get the answers they require!

All in all, if you're looking for an exciting read that will keep you guessing from start to finish, then pick up a copy of Caz Finlay’s A Score to Settle today, or better yet start from the beginning to ge the most out of the series and learn about how the family develops over time. With its fast pace and gripping storyline, plus wonderful characters like Grace Carter, it’s sure to leave you wanting more! What are you waiting for? Go and binge the whole series as soon as you can!

I first came across Caz Finlay after reading her first book The Boss in 2019.
A new author but I knew as soon as I started this series it was definitely an author I wanted read.
Her latest A Score To Settle finished the series with a banging plot.
With Grace and Michael in Spain it’s left to the rest of the Carter family to keep the businesses running smoothly .
Grace then receives the phone call that shocks her to the core. Isla her 9 year old granddaughter is missing.
Is someone holding a grudge or is it more personal than that.
As the family go out and try to find answers, time is running out quickly.
I’ve really enjoyed this series, loved the characters.
Can’t wait to see what’s next in store from this exciting author

Liverpool crime series sadly the grand final book eight in the grace Carter family and it's a slap bang wallop read right through to the end. I have totally enjoyed every single book, all engrossed and gripping and there is a big score to settle for feisty Grace and her family. Revenge just got personal, protect your child, imagine the worst possible thing that can happen, when you fear for the worse.
This brings Grace and Michael and their two youngest back from Spain where they are now living, their granddaughter Jake and Siobhan daughter Isla only eight years old has been taking kidnapped who has dared to cross the Carters. Police are involved but this family don't hang around for anyone.
Oh wow my heart was in my mouth reading this book, and revenge is on going in the worse possible way. Plenty of on going action that will grip and pull you in all the way through.
The end was a sorry affair for me as this family will always live on in Liverpool for a lot of years to come, absolutely fantastic.

When Isla, daughter of Jake Conlan and his ex wife Siobhan goes missing from a soft play centre, Grace and Michael Carter return home to join the desperate search to find her.

With so many enemies, the family suspect everyone and will stop at nothing to get Isla back. Family is everything and there is nothing Grace wouldn’t do to protect them.

A Score to Settle is another action packed, white knuckle thrill ride and a fabulous addition to a fantastic series. I’ve loved every one of them.

Many thanks to Netgalley and Harper Collins UK - One More Chapter for an ARC for my honest revue.

The four Graces of Liverpool.
Well three are iconic buildings on the waterfront and the fourth is Grace Carter, matriarch to the family that “own” the city. Move on one and you move on them all so kidnapping a grandchild of theirs is not going to get you a place on Mastermind but will lead to an inevitable end. Meanwhile an attempt to lure the police to a scrapyard they use, that if searched, would yield as many bodies as bumpers leaves them wondering if it is all connected or is someone else organising a vendetta against them?
A pacy book that hooks you from beginning to end as it continues to “unpack” the individual characters within. Don’t plan on doing much else whilst your reading!

Grace Carter has retirepud with husband John and gone to live in Spain with their two youngest children and left their two eldest boys to take the helm. Everything was running smoothly until ‘Nudge’ has been found dead with his throat cut.
That’s not all. When Jake’s daughter Isla has been with friends in a soft Play area she goes missing. At first, they think that she has just walked away somewhere. Until they receive a bouquet of flowers with a note. They know that Isla has been abducted, in revenge for some of the family members have done.
Grace Loves her family so much she returns from Spain to be included in the search to find Isla. She will do anything to find out where she is. Who has taken her and why?
Thank you Boldwood books for a copy ‘A score to settle’. Wow Caz Finlay has done it again with another fab read from the author. I couldn’t put this gripping thriller down. I virtually read it in one sitting. I will also miss this series, and this is the last book. It has some great characters in this especially Grace. 5 stars from me.

Well, Well, Well.
Caz Finlay has smashed it again. Another epic read. Book 8 in the Bad Blood Series. As always this book has everything the reader wants from a gritty gangland thriller.
Everything and a little more. This time around a feud boiling isn't business, it's personal. Find out what happens when the grandchild of one of Liverpool's gangland bosses is kidnapped.
Everyone is on their toes, everyone doing their bit to try and help find her. Grace Carter and her Husband Michael are on the first flight home to Liverpool as soon as they hear the news.
Everyone is out of their minds with worry and stress and when you family is the Carter family worry and stress do not mix well.
The storyline is this book was first class, amazing real life characters that you just can't help but to like. The characters have been built up superbly over the series and really do get under your skin.
Its had to believe at book 8 that everything still feels fresh and new, each time a book is released I thing Caz Finlay is going to struggle to top the last one. I'm pleased to say i have never been disappointed and each one just gets batter and better. Any fans of a gangland crime books will absolutely love this one and if you haven't read the previous book I would say you get a better feel for the characters by reading them in order, but it could be read as a standalone if you wanted.

Book 8 in the series.
Grace Carter's granddaughter has been taken and with no cttv and no contact from the kidnappers, the family need to pull out all the stops to find her fast. When a sinster note is sent to Grace it informs them that it's not business its personal but which one of their rivals would go to such extremes to tear her family apart.
Jack Conlon will stop at nothing to get his daughter back even if it means putting his own life at risk.
I raced through this book it was so good.Caz Finlay just gets better and better and with this one shes delivered another knockout.

This has turned into one of my favourite series! I love Grace, she’s such a badass but she also has a heart of gold too.
When someone takes revenge for perceived wrongdoings and kidnaps Isla, daughter of Jake and Siobhan you’d better believe no stone will be left unturned looking for her.
Each time I read the latest book in this series, I think Caz has beaten the previous books, but I’m wrong, as this is one hell of a series, even if you just picked up from this one, you couldn’t deny these characters are bloody brilliant and I just can’t wait to see what’s next!!

*4.5 stars*

Author Caz Finlay doesn’t let standards slip in this, her final book of the series, about a Liverpool based gangland crime family.

When head of the Carter family, Grace Carter’s granddaughter Isla goes missing from a children’s soft play area, no stone will be left unturned in their search for her. No one ever crosses the Carters and lives to tell the tale, but with no contact from Isla’s abductors, no ransom note or phone call making demands, they’re at a complete loss as to what to do next.

Grace is on holiday in Spain with her husband and two youngest children, when she receives the call that chills her to the bone - having left her sons in charge of the business, she’s told that Isla ( Grace’s son Jake’s 8 year old daughter has been abducted).

It’s difficult to work out who would do such a thing, because the Carters have such a huge list of enemies, most of them acquired whilst conducting various business activities - but eventually Grace receives a message that determines that the abduction is personal and nothing to do with the business side of things.

As one would expect from author Caz Finlay, this is a gripping storyline with numerous threads that all come together seamlessly. It’s an entertaining read and as this is the last in the series, I for one will miss it, - it has kept me hooked from book #1. Job done!
