Read this book if you like: One POV, celebrity, found family, curvy girl, Sapphic romances, friends to lovers, Grey's Anatomy references, steamy 🔥

I think this was a super cute book. Nina's job is very different and so cool. I would have preferred dual POV since it gives more dimension to romance but I still really enjoyed it. There were so many great parts. I loved the food. I loved the side characters. I didn't want the epilogue to end. 😪 I highly recommend it.

Thank you to NetGalley, the author, and Harper Collins for the gifted e-book! ❤️

4⭐️ I really enjoyed this new contemporary romance read from Amy Spalding! I adored all of the characters in this book including all those in Nina’s friendship circle (and of course Lorna!) and I loved the romance that played out in the pages 🫶🏼 A great addition to your TBR lists!!

First off, I want to say I LOVED the romance in this. From the very beginning, I loved the interactions between Nina and Ari and wanted to read more about them. They were cute together, and their interactions made me laugh out loud even just in the little bit that I read.

That being said, the romance was the only thing I really loved about this book. There was a lot of infodumping, some of it quite repetitive (especially about how LA is set up, how far away Nina lives from the city proper, etc.)-- there was so much information I got very overwhelmed and, in some cases, felt like getting NO information would have been more helpful. I ended up DNFing around 20% of the way through because the infodumping just got to be too much.
On the flip side, there were things that were glossed over that I really wanted more time spent on (like Nina finally hanging out with her friends she hasn't seen in 3 years-- we only get the initial reunions, and then none of the rest of the night, which would have gone a really long way to humanize Nina and all of her friends). It basically just felt like I was getting the wrong amount of information about almost everything, whether it was too much or too little.

Basically-- if you are good with heavy infodumping, definitely give this book a chance, because what little I saw of the romance was sweet and fun and funny. It just wasn't quite enough to carry me through the sheer amount of information that was dropped on me (again, some of it repeatedly). I was definitely sad about DNFing this one, because the romance itself seemed like everything I wanted it to be, it was just everything else that didn't really work for me.

"This whole thing–life–is a gamble. And I happen to think it’s all worth it."

Thank you to Harpercollins UK for providing me with an early copy in exchange for an honest review.

This is just a nice and quick contemporary romance read. The main character Nina reminds me a lot of myself in the sense that our past relationship has stuck with us so much that it tends to eat at us, makes us believe we aren’t worthy of the good in our lives. Which is complete BS, because we both, all of us, are more than worthy of having people in our lives who love us and don’t see as as a nuisance.

This novel is more about self growth with a sapphic romance intertwined. I always can appreciate that.

The third act break up, like many contemporary romance novels, was a bit unnecessary in my opinion. Nina could’ve gotten to the point where she was without a dramatic and kind of….boring third act break up.

Another thing about this story that I disliked was the references to many real life places, people and things. While I do understand this novel takes place in Los Angeles and its surrounding areas, the constant mention of Starbucks and TGI Fridays, actresses, etc., became too much for me. However, I personally don’t enjoy when authors do this, it doesn’t mean that it will bother you like it did me.

Overall, if you’re looking for more sapphic reads and adore an elder side character as I do, I recommend this one to be added to your never-ending TBR pile.

This book was an absolute breath of fresh air and I enjoyed every single second of it.

In this book we meet Nina, she works for an agents office in Hollywood, though she is based at home answering and sending emails for celebrities. It is via these emails that puts her in touch with Ari, super hot actress, and even though it’s against work rules these two quickly become more than just friends.

Nina annoyed me a little for how she behaved, but I’ve been in a relationship with a narcissist so I get how Taylor her ex made her think about herself. She needed a huge shake to stop believing what she said is true. Aside from that I really enjoyed her character. Now Ari, she was amazing, she adored Nina and really made her start thinking good things about herself again. She was up for anything and really just loved living her life.

This is the first book I’ve read where two females were the main characters and I have to say I loved it, was a nice change from hot men haha.

I loved all the side characters in this book too and I loved the friendship between them all.

Great setting and a great storyline.
I definitely recommend this easy quick fun read.

Thank you so much to the author, the publisher and NetGalley for the advance copy of this book, all thoughts are my own.

I really wanted to love this one as it sounded right up my alley, but unfortunately I couldn't get into the story at all. It all felt really flat and one-sided to me, and I didn't 'feel' a connection to any of the characters.

This was a fun, sweet sapphic romance. It was a little slow moving for me at first, but once I got into it I had trouble putting it down. The characters are great and I really enjoyed getting to know them. I would definitely read more from this author.

For Her Consideration by Amy Spalding

Thank you to NetGalley, HarperCollins UK and One More Chapter for the opportunity to read this book. Here is my honest review.

There's wonderful friends, found family and a beautiful love story.

Nina Rice works at a talent agency as a ghost writer answering emails of celebrities. She has been doing that for 3 years from her aunt's condo in the suburbs of L.A. 3 years ago she had a hard breakup from her girlfriend Taylor. She ended up leaving her friends and her old life in L.A.

One day Nina is called into the office by her boss because the rising star Ari Fox wants to discuss Nina's emails. Ari is known to be quite the control freak and Nina is so nervous to lose her job. Ari suggests they go out for a drink and get to know each other and maybe Nina's emails will improve to sound more like Ari.

Ari and Nina go on a few work dates and slowly their work dates turn into real dates and now we get to follow the relationship grow between Ari and Nina.

I loved to watch Nina turn from this ghost of her former self because of this bad breakup to this strong woman. I loved the relationship between Nina and her dear aunt and especially Nina's wonderful friends, her found family. I liked this book very much!

For Her Consideration follows Nina Rice who, after a particularly brutal breakup, distances herself from her life and friends for 3 years. Working for a talent agency as an email ghost writer, Nina is asked to meet queer icon Ari Fox to discuss Ari’s email persona. Before long sparks fly as Nina realises that the Oscar nominated actress is more down to earth that anyone could have guessed. Ari and Nina are adorable together, though the found family Amy Spalding has created is where this book really shines. The third act tension is a bit on the silly side, and everyone could do with a healthy dose of therapy, but overall For Her Consideration is a solid sapphic read. (Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for an arc of this book in exchange for an honest review)

Probably more of a 2.5, this was a really fun sweet sapphic romance, I loved how their personalities complimented each other and they were both just lovely people who really cared for eachother. I loved the celebrity dynamic and even though there was <spoiler>a classic Act 3 Breakup (which I hateee) </spoiler> they sorted it out and dealt with it maturely!

I loved the friendship group and found the cat side story really amusing! This book was just FUN, I'm not obsessed and recommending it to everyone I see but I enjoyed it and I do not regret reading it! Possibly I would have loved it more if it was Dual POV? I think I am quickly beginning to realise that is my preference in romance novels!

I just LOVE LGBTQ+ ROMANCE BOOOOOKS ESPECIALLY WLW!!! LOVE

Also huge thanks to NetGalley and Amy's publisher for approving me for an eARC in return for my honest review!

Nina has a breakup that badly affects her self-esteem, resulting in her also ghosting all her friends. Hiding in the L.A. suburbs she is employed by a talent agency working from home, then she ends up working closely with an up and coming film star, Ari, and her life starts changing again
I'm not sure as a straight gentleman of a certain age that I'm the target reader, however again this proves that a good story can be enjoyed by all / most people. The way that Nina and Ari gradually become closer is heart warming, but what struck me most is how some nasty comments by Nina's ex carried on hurting for years showing the power of negativity to potentially ruin someone's life. Definitely recommended if you want tho read something different, although I must admit that I'm still confused by people's pronouns.......
I received an advance copy of this book from the publisher through Netgalley, however this did not influence my review of the book and I subsequently purchased it upon release.

For Her Consideration was such a fun queer romance book, from the start of the book we find about some of Nina's backstory and her last breakup, which caused her to become more reclusive. Throughout the book, she starts to gain confidence in herself with her friendships, with her supportive friends showing the importance of found family. As well as with her romance with rising star Ari, becoming more comfortable being in a relationship again after three years. I do wish we could have had some chapters from Ari's POV. The conflict also seemed unnecessary and was personally my least favourite part of the book, even though I could tell it was going to happen.
Though I overall really enjoyed For Her Consideration and would rate it 3.75 stars, thank you NetGalley for the arc!

It took me a little than longer to get into this book. I thought maybe it just wasn't for me. But I tuck with it and once I had more time with the characters I ended up loving it. There aren't enough sapphic romance stories in my opinion and this is a great one. I could really related to the main characters self down, about herself, relationships and friendship and also her career choice. Would love to read more from this author in the future!

If there is any way to convince me to read a book, I’d to just say that it is sapphic. This was such a swoon worthy read and I love romances with a famous celebrity.

*4.25 Stars*

Nina Rice writes emails for a living. She pretty much replies to the emails celebrities must get from people who meet them reach out after. So she studies them and tries to imitate them as best as she can. But rising star Ari Fox thinks she's not doing such a great job and figures they should hang out for Nina to get to know her better and be able to reply for her better. And then, things get messy. And I didn't even mention Nina's ex and how she did a number on her...

I actually quite enjoyed this one, I had a good time. I was quite frustrated by the main character pretty often but still, it was a fun, fast read and I really liked the love interest and the MC's friends and aunt. I also liked how this was about being comfortable in our everyday life vs taking risks. This was a bit rude but I still really enjoyed it. I could related in a way.
I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a fun romance with extra depth and a great friend group.

Sapphic book with a beautiful-sized lady in the spotlight. This book does not focus on size, but it was lovely to see some love going to a wider range of characters. I smiled throughout this book, it had me daydreaming about running off to LA and trying to catch myself a celeb. Thoroughly enjoyed it, great quick fun read.

I loved reading a story based on aplus size lady and seeing that it doesn't impact the actual story. Such a refreshing story too and I loved how dimensional the characters were and relatable too beautiful cover

TW ⚠️: Anxiety and depression; talk about adoption

I requested a digital advanced readers copy from NetGalley and Kensington Publishing and providing my opinion voluntarily and unbiased.

Synopsis: Nina Rice has written everything out of her life after a bad breakup. She's in her aunt's condo working her talent agency job from home, managing celebrity email accounts. But a surprise meeting called by Ari Fox, a young actress on everyone's radar, stirs up all kinds of feelings Nina thought she'd deleted for good... Ari is sexy, out and proud, and a serious control freak, according to Nina's boss. Nina suddenly finds it less scary to revisit her abandoned life than seriously consider that Ari is flirting with her. A relationship with a movie star seems like something she'll definitely mess up--but what could be more worth the risk?

My Thoughts: The story is narrated by Nina, from her POV. I tend to like the dual POV but it wasn’t missed here as Nina grows exponentially through this book so the single POV really works well for this story. The story resonates with body positive imaginary, which I love when that is incorporated. This was a really fun read for me. It really delivers a powerful message as you can do anything you set your mind to. The characters were well developed with depth, connection, emotional, showed growth, were likable, and absolutely relatable. The author’s writing style was complex, creative, thought provoking, and flowed really well. This author is a first read for me but will not be my last. I highly recommend that you pre-order this book that comes out next year, I have a feeling it will be a highly anticipated book!

L.A. sapphic love story.
I love a love story but this one lost me Nina was self-sabotaging left and right she was blind. I wasn't a fan of Nina. I liked Ari a lot her self-confidence was great. Just not the book for me.
Plus side I really enjoyed how Nina did take the time and did work on herself later on but felt like it took a while and I couldn't get into it.
