This is a good book. The two main characters are Nora and Wyatt. They have known each other since elementary school. When they were sixteen they found out they were going to have a baby. They realized there was no way they could raise a child. They gave the baby up for adoption. Seventeen years later the baby a teenage girl shows up on Wyatt’s doorstep. They have some trust issues but together they work them and fall in love.

Lightening can strike twice in the same place! Wyatt and Nola had a baby when they were 16. They gave their daughter up for adoption and broke up. However, every year they get together to commemorate their daughter. This year is a double whammy. Turns out they make a new baby and the first one returns to them.
It’s a tangled read full of emotions and interfering parties, spiteful people, and revelations long kept secret.
I thought it was very hypocritical what Nola’s mother had done. I was also taken back by Marely’s hostility toward Nola but fawning over Wyatt. Being a teenager doesn’t excuse her attitude.
I liked the trail of the story.

Last Ride, Texas – Present Day

Wyatt Buchanan and Nola Parkman were high school sweethearts, but an unplanned pregnancy at the age of sixteen broke them up. They agreed to have their baby girl adopted, though neither ever forgot about her. Wyatt and Nola hold a yearly remembrance on their baby girl’s birthday. Two weeks before that date, Nola arrives at Wyatt’s ranch to let him know that she has been assigned by the historical association the task of looking into his late brother’s death in a mysterious car accident. She knows that it will bring up painful memories. But as they talk, the passion that had been laid to rest seventeen years ago flares up. They might have passed it off as a one-time oops, but when she arrives two weeks later for their annual remembrance, Nola comes with the news that she might be pregnant. History is repeating itself. They have barely digested the pregnancy news when a teenage girl shows up on Wyatt’s doorstep. She is their now seventeen-year-old daughter. Marley’s adoptive parents are divorcing, and she wants to move in with her real dad.

There is a lot of emotion flying throughout MORNINGS AT RIVER’S EDGE RANCH as Wyatt and Nola deal with another unplanned pregnancy and their daughter. Marley wants to get to know Wyatt, but she dislikes Nola because she thinks she didn’t want her. The truth is, Nola and Wyatt agreed that neither was capable at the age of sixteen to raise a child. While Wyatt has gone on to own a ranch and is well off, he wasn’t able back then to support a child. Nola has a trust fund, but her mother convinced her that giving up the child would be the best thing to do. Marley coming into their lives brings out the raw emotion between the three. Also on the heels is coming face to face with the adoptive parents. Heather seems nice and loves her daughter, but the father appears controlling and wants custody of Marley. All Wyatt wants right now is to protect his daughter. But he also has to deal with the fact that Nola is pregnant with his child again.

Both Wyatt and Nola are navigating uncharted waters with Marley entering their lives and a new pregnancy. This time, the baby won’t be given away. He wants to marry her, but she is refusing. Nola is an accomplished glass blower and hopes to make enough, along with her trust fund, to support the baby. Of course, Wyatt won’t be too far away. This time he can afford to help her financially. As for Nola’s relationship with Marley, it pains her that she can’t convince her daughter that she gave her up because she loved her and wanted what was best for her. By the end of MORNINGS AT RIVER’S EDGE RANCH, will they have brokered a relationship? Meanwhile, Wyatt is dealing with the investigation into his brother’s death. Was it an accident…or suicide? All the answers to these questions will be provided by the end of this tale.

If you love an emotion-packed story with two people reunited after years apart, then MORNINGS AT RIVER’S EDGE RANCH is the one for you. Their path to happiness is rocky, but readers will enjoy being along for the ride.

Starting over…memories and the past…love and romance…babies…present and problems…do over…the main characters were teenagers and in love…they gave their baby away…every year they remember…although they remember every day, they get together on the date once a year…what happens when the past comes to the present? Can this couple survive what happens? This is a romance that has a hint of intrigue…the author is gifted at writing a romantic reunion. The characters are likable and the setting adds to the story.
