Lyla and Mason Klaus are complete opposites. When Mr. Klaus cancels the work Christmas party, Lyla decides to go ahead and throw it anyway. When the party results in a disaster, Mason offers her a deal, come home with him for Christmas and he will cover for her. Lyla agrees but soon finds out going home with him is not what she expected.

This one had me hooked from the beginning and I read it in a sitting. It gave me all those warm holiday feels. Definitely one to add to your TBR for next year!

This book was such a fresh take on Christmas - I absolutely love how the North Pole was imagined and told throughout the story. I honestly think if I ever have kiddos, this is the way I will describe the spirit of the season - loved it!! The connection with Lydia and Mason was precious and how Lydia developed strong relationships with his family. It honestly was a great Christmas story and one I will remember and recommend!

3.5/5 ⭐⭐⭐
Enemies-to-lovers? Holiday Romance? A wolf attack scene plucked straight from Beauty and the Beast? Say no more, I’m in. The Naughty or Nice Clause is equal parts bonkers Santa romance and down-to-earth, low stakes holiday coziness that makes it a great read for this time of year.
Lyla and Mason are co-CEOs of a struggling toy company, and they’ve never agreed on anything. They bicker over finances, office parties, and all the goings on at the company they run. But when Mason gets the bad news that his estranged father has passed away, Lyla is the one there to comfort him and get him home safe. Little does she know, he’s about to whisk her away to the North Pole, where she’ll discover the secrets of Christmas and who Mason’s family is. Surrounded by all that Christmas magic, who wouldn’t fall in love, even if it was with your grinchiest coworker?
This holiday romance was all sorts of fun. At first, I didn’t really love the direction it was going, but once I suspended disbelief and went along for the ride, it was really fun! Lyla and Mason were two genuine characters. We got to see some of their struggles with grief, identity, and family, and their love felt real and genuine. This story was full of dramatic moments (wolves, ex-fiances, saving Christmas?) but at the same time felt low-stakes in a cozy way.
Where it fell a little short for me was in the banter, which is usually my favorite part of enemies-to-lovers romances. It felt a little bit awkward at more than one point. A lot of the flirting felt too forward for where they were in the relationship, while I felt like the actual relationship burned a little too slowly for the plot.
But overall, this was a fun read full of wintery magic, and the characters and world they transported me to were well worth the read. If you’re still looking to cling to that holiday spirit into January, pick this one up! Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for this review.

While I love a good holiday romance this one wasn’t my favorite. It has fake dating, magical realism, enemies to lovers and a small town romance. Overall, it just fell a little flat for me. I did like the storyline as it was unique and I liked the interring twist but I wasn’t really feeling the chemistry between the main characters. It was very cute and sweet and gave me hallmark vibes. It wasn’t my favorite holiday romance but I would recommend it!

Super cute holiday romance novel. Highly recommend if you love the magic of Christmas and a Scrooge or grinch like character.

The Naughty or Nice Clause is a great Christmas read! Enemies to lovers - one who loves Christmas and one who hates it - great plot for a Christmas book. Would make a great movie in my opinion! Add it to your holiday reading list!

This was a quick, fun holiday read. I felt like I was reading a Hallmark Christmas movie. Thoroughly enjoyable! Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.

The Naughty or Nice Clause by Kate Callagan #jaylammreviews
This book was released in early November but I waited until Christmas time to read it, and I am so glad I did. This was such a cute story!
Lyla and her business partner Mason Kause are always at odds! They cannot agree on anything. WHen Lyla throws a Christmas party without Mason knowing, things take a turn and a fire breaks out in the office. Mason gives Lyla a change to make it up to him by going home with him for the holidays...but Mason doesn't have a normal hometown...
This was a perfect enemies to lovers romance for the holidays. It was very cliche and cheesy at times but that is just what I was looking for in a holiday romance. I really loved Lyla and Mason; and also there were some great supporting characters. Mason's family was the best!
If you are looking for a quick fun holiday romance to end the year, this would be just right.

This book was THE perfect Christmas read! I really enjoyed the twists and turns that happened throughout the story especially while in Yule - the beautifully depicted Christmas village! This story had a unique way of the characters getting to Yule, a wonderful and diverse group of characters, a baking competition, a gala, a jealous conniving ex-girlfriend, an enemies to lovers trope - I enjoyed this book so much I’m excited to read some of the authors other books - even though she admitted in her forward that this book was a new venture and a far cry from her other books - the writing is what kept me engaged! Absolutely loved it and would DEFINITELY recommend it to rom-com fans! It’s so cute!
Thank you NetGalley for the advanced electronic version of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the copy in exchange for a review.
I really loved this book, it was sweet and steamy in just the right way I loved seeing all the Christmas details and meeting Mason’s family and I loved seeing the family interact with one another, they felt like a real family and gave me a warm fuzzy feeling. I really liked seeing the relationship dynamic between Mason and Lyla and I loved how much this book made me smile and laugh at their rivalry at work at the beginning of the book. I loved reading about how Lyla reacted to the North Pole and how magical and immersive this book was for me. Overall I loved this book and would recommend it to people looking to hold on to the holiday spirit just a little longer.

This book did not connect for me. It was a challenge to get through and I found it hard to stay interested. I won’t be sharing this review elsewhere.
Thank you for the opportunity to review it.

This was a good book and the perfect easy holiday romance. I enjoyed the storyline and the unique telling of “Santa” and the “North Pole”. I would definitely read another book by this author. Thank you NetGalley for the book in return for my honest review.

This was disappointing to me. I expected something funny and quirky but ended up getting a cheesy plot.

3.5/5 stars, not perfect but a decent holiday read
This book definitely had some Christmas spirit, and lots of themes relating to family, but there were some things that just decreased my enjoyment of this book. I'm glad that I read it during this time of year though, because some aspects of the story really did get me into the holiday spirit.
While I know I mentioned that there were some things I didn't like about this book, for the most part I don't have a super positive or negative opinion. It just felt like a book I read, but something I would probably forget in the long-run. I was very interested as the synopsis promises enemies to lovers, a magical Christmas story, and things like that. Which it did deliver on some of those, the overall story felt very slow and it meandered around what I already guessed was going to happen at the end. It took me a while, but towards the end I did end up enjoying myself, I just felt that some parts of the story were so slow and not built up enough that it was hard to connect.
In terms of the romance, almost right away you could see tension between Mason and Lyla, but it felt almost forced. I think that there needed to be more buildup between them before the story progressed, as I just didn't see their connection. I didn't understand why they didn't like each other and why they still held attraction for one another, though I did end up enjoying their romance a bit later on. I just never thought they had enough chemistry for me to get behind them fully.
[TW: sexual harassment mentioned, death of a parent mentioned, alcohol and drunk moments, car accident mentioned, non-consentful kiss, allergic reaction, depiction of grief, attempted murder, blood (brief), animal attack, sexual themes, kidnapping, head injury]

I didn't know what to expect from this initially, id never heard of the author or read any of her previous book but i was pleasantly surprised.
This book was the best book ive read this christmas and i don't think ill find anything that will beat it. Everything was so cosy and festive! Its very well written with likeable characters, even the moody ones.
It was a real snuggle, cuppa and immerse yourself read! i might even read it again next year. i tried reading a few others but none seemed to even match up.
Ive looked at the authors other books since and it seems this is her first dabble into this genre. Id read another in this genre or similar if one was released.

Oh what a fun Christmas fantasy read! I truly enjoyed the romance though not like the Hallmark movies but cute enough to say “aww.” I was not expecting the special trip to Yule (the North Pole) but I was my favorite part especially with the amazing descriptions, I wanted to be there!
This novel has so much: a enemy to lovers romance, the love between family and that anything is possible when you just believe.
I recommend this read to anyone, especially if you love a good Christmas theme book with a sprinkle of fantasty. Thank you @netgalley for the ARC, run to get your copy out now.

2.25 I was not a huge fan of this one the character felt flat to me and the way the relationship began just did not make sense to me. This story follows Lyla a woman who randomly is chosen by Santa’s heir and her boss to go to the North Pole with him to become Mrs Claus only problem is they cannot stand one another.
This book had some cute moment and I usually do tend to love enemies to lovers and fake dating but for some reason I just did not care about the characters. I will say it gave me festive vibes but just not my cup of cocoa. I would like to thank net galley and the publishers for a chance to read this book for an honest review.

I love a good holiday book in December but this one…not so much.
I didn’t expect for this book to be fantasy and I think that was the main reason for my not liking it. I did not care for the writing style or the main characters and I was mostly bored while (trying) to read this. If you’re someone who likes holiday hallmark movies then I would say this book is for you, for me though…not so much. Dnf.

This book perfectly captured the magical spirit of Christmas! If you enjoy enemies to lovers, fake dating, found family, and a hint of spice, check this one out!
Thank you to NetGalley & Kate Callaghan for the ARC!

This was the perfect holiday read. It was such a fun and easy read. The magical elements caught me a little odd guard, but I loved every minute of this book. So so good!!
