Lynette Eason is a favorite author of mine and her books are so well developed I enjoy every single one. I get fully invested in them from the beginning and don't want them to end. This was a great book with wonderful characters who felt like my friends. I enjoyed talking to my friends about this book because it was so captivating and entertaining.

This might be my favorite in this series, I loved Sam's character and his real and raw struggles as he comes to terms with who his father is and who that makes him. Sometimes a suspense novel can be lacking in the character development department as the mystery marches on, but I loved the way you saw Sam grow and develop as a character very realistically, Even so, the mystery didn't take a backseat and kept my interest throughout. Grace was a great counterpart to Sam's character and their romance was very sweet.

This is a Romantic Suspense, and this is the third book in the Extreme Measures series. I have read and reviewed the first book in this series before picking up this book, but I do feel this book can be read as a standalone. This book is super action packed and fast paced which I loved so much. I also enjoyed the characters in this book so much. I got pulled into the storyline so fast, and I really loved all the twists and turns. I cannot believe how this book ended, and I did not see it coming. I loved the ending so much. Great Read. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher (Revell) or author (Lynette Eason) via NetGalley, so I can give an honest review about how I feel about this book. I want to send a big Thank you to them for that.

Out of all the Extreme Measure books, I liked this one the best. I loved the how personal it got with prison psychiatrist Sam and that we got to know a lot of his and his father's story.

This was a DNF at 24% for me. I didn't like the characters, writing, etc. It just was not my cup of tea and I didn't realize it was romantic suspense so thats my own fault.

I've read several books by Lynette Eason and have always found them to be fast paced, interesting and hard to put down. This one was no different. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and highly recommend it.

Grace is working as a behavioral psychologist and is determined to catch the killer even if she becomes a target. With Sam working alongside her team will they be able to chase down the clues, keep everyone safe, and maybe find time for a relationship before it’s too late?
“Critical Threat” is well written with believable characters you can connect with, and a tightly written plot that moves along at the perfect pace.

Lynette Eason always knocks it out of the park. One of my favorite authors! I always look forward to reading her series.

I love a good FBI book and one where you don’t know who the killer is exactly. This was told in the prospective of Grace (FBI agent), Sam (psychiatrist for prisoners that are in for life and consultant to the FBI) and the killer. I enjoyed seeing the story unravel from all three perspectives.

Right now there is a serial killer on the loose that is removing the tongues from their victims and taking their phones. The killer is mimicking a serial killer from long ago. Even though the serial killer is in prison does he have something to do with it?

Thank you #NetGalley for the advance copy

“he had to admit he wanted to spend time with Grace outside of chasing a serial killer. He just had to keep her alive long enough to make that happen.”

I really enjoyed this fast paced and gripping Christian thriller by Lynette Eason. This is the third book in her Extreme Measures series and tte serial killer aspect was intense! Sam and Grace worked well together and seemed like great partners. It had more of a mystery feel than romance, but I thought it was a good story.

“Grace stepped forward and gripped his arm. “Sam, be careful. Don’t let him get in your head.” He closed his eyes and soaked in her words. “Yeah. Don’t let him get in my head.” He blew out a low breath. If only it wasn’t too late.”

Having a father, who was a serial killer, made for an interesting perspective from his son Sam who worked as a psychiatrist with prisoners. I enjoyed getting to know him and the things he struggled with in his position and faith. Grace’s role as an FBI behavioral analyst made for an interesting read. I liked her character as she caught things others had missed. Her role with the serial killer made the story intense and the mystery kept me guess right to the end. The romance was light, but sweet.

“She’d never been one for the warm fuzzies, but then she’d met Sam . . .”

I was given a copy of this book by the publisher through NetGalley. All opinions are my own and have been given honestly.

Once again, Lynette Eason proves why she's one of my favorite authors! Critical Threat continues her "Extreme Measures" series, featuring women who went into some form of law enforcement after doing a stint in juvie as a rebellious teenager.

Grace Billingsley is a special agent with the FBI, who does behavior analysis, or profiling for the Bureau. Her unit's focus is on serial killers and when women start showing up dead, all using the MO of a killer doing time in prison for his crimes, Grace is called upon to use her skills. She'll have to work with prison psychiatrist Sam Monroe, whose own father is in prison because he, too, was a serial killer, and the new killings are eerily similar to those he committed.

Sam knows his father's crimes better than anyone. He turned him in, after all, and lost his marriage in the process. He first met Grace at a convention, and even though they connected, he didn't feel ready for a new relationship at the time, so he ghosted her. Now, as they work together, that connection clicks back into place but every time they plan a "date" something horrible happens to stop them from going out, or to interrupt them. When the killer turns his sights to Grace, Sam knows she needs a bodyguard. Grace is confident in her abilities, until the madman nearly succeeds in his mission to capture her. Can they stay a step ahead of the man who has managed to stay out of the police system, in spite of his murderous ways?

There were so many threads to tie up in this story, but Eason brings everything to a screaming conclusion after non-stop action most of the way through. I love that both main characters are flawed and feel the need to be forgiven by those they love. I also love that both of them are caregivers - Grace for her addict brother, and Sam for his two children, and eventually for Grace.

Critical Threat is book 3 in the Extreme Measures series, but it can be read as a stand-alone. Characters from the previous books make appearances, but they're more 'cameos' and readers don't need to know more about them than what Eason puts in this book. If you've never read a Lynette Eason book, prepare yourself for gripping suspense with a side of sweet romance. I absolutely recommend this, and can't wait for book 4, Countdown!

I received this book free via NetGalley, but every opinion here is my own!

Eason is known for creating an action-packed story filled with imperfect characters, light-handed faith elements, clean romance, tightly-written suspense, an appropriate level of violence, and plot twists. Critical Threat (the final book in the Extreme Measures seies) is no exception.

Readers who enjoyed this series will want to read Eason's earlier works: the Elite Guardians Collection (a collection of full-length books co-authored by Eason and debut authors) and Targeted (a collection of 3 romantic suspense novellas by Eason and others).

I love how well written this book is. I loved the characters, the way romance and faith are woven in perfectly, and how quickly I was drawn in.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone.

Critical Threat is a non-stop, action-packed, breathtaking novel. Suspense oozed off the pages and kept my attention. Lynette Eason never ceases to amaze me with the wild rides in her romantic suspense novels.
FBI Special Agent Grace Billingsley finds herself in a dangerous predicament when she’s called to take on a murder case. She spots evidence at the crime scene that the killer didn’t intend for her to find.
Prison psychiatrist Sam Monroe is invited to the crime scene because it has all the markings of a serial killer. Sam should know the signs because his father was a serial killer.
Grace and Sam met once before, but he wasn’t ready for a relationship, so he never followed up with her. Now that they must work together, she’s forced to move past her discomfort at his presence to search for the killer.

Critical Threat is a gritty suspense novel about a serial killer. There is a bit of romance in it, but not much. There are lots of details about the killings, behavioral analysis, police proceedings. and that manner of story, along with the hero Sam’s life post-divorce. The heroine Grace, is a likable character who makes some decisions that may leave the reader questioning her reasoning, but it all works out in the end. The one big question I had was for the author- would a prison housing a famous serial killer really let his son work there as the psychiatrist? Wouldn’t that be a tremendous conflict of interest? This bothered me through the entire book and made me over-analyze things. After all, if one thing is off, are other things? Fortunately, I can recommend the book and say that it is good and readers should enjoy it!

If you enjoy an intense story you've come to the right place with this book. Grace Billingsley is a special agent with the FBI and she's been tasked with helping to catch a serial killer. Grace is a psychiatrist and a behavior analyst and she uses those skills to come up with a profile as to who the possible killer could be. Along the way it becomes personal to her and the killer.

Sam Monroe is a prison psychiatrist that helps Grace and her team with the profile of the killer. Before long he is drawn into the case so much so that it endangers his family. To complicate matters both personally and professionally it just so happens that his own father is a convicted serial killer that was recently transferred to the prison where Sam works. Could this new serial killer be related to his father in some manner?

This was so well written. I stayed up way too late reading it because I just needed to know a little bit more before I could put the book down. There were complexities in the case that I didn't see coming but they made a huge impact on the overall story. You really can count on Lynette Eason for a nail biter of a story.

This is book three in the series and the connection between the books is a group of friends. Each book focuses on an individual and the rest of the friends pop in from time to time. With that in mind I think it is safe to say that this book can easily be read as a stand alone title. But of course I recommend that you treat yourself to the entire series!

I received a copy of this book to facilitate my review.

FBI Special Agent Grace Billingsley is a psychiatrist called in to consult on a case with Sam Monroe, who she met briefly in the past, now they must put the awkwardness of their past behind them to catch the killer.

A chilling chase, has them fighting to stay ahead of the killer who has set his target on Grace. Engaging read, I enjoyed the relationship building and getting to know Sam's family. Grace is a quick thinker, determined and confident.

A fast paced read with great characters, and a spine tingling plotline. Sam is a good father, a little hesitant to get back in the dating game, with a few secrets in his past. Overall, a riveting read with great suspense elements, action, and faith.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Critical Threat by Lynette Eason is a brilliantly plotted work of romantic suspense. Readers of this genre will adore this book. The suspense never ends. The serial killer villain is pure evil and hard to pinpoint. But his persistence around every corner is completely terrifying. This is a book you won’t be able to put down. I highly recommend it. I received a digital copy of this book from the publisher with no obligations. These opinions are entirely my own.

Critical Threat is the third installment of the thrilling Extreme Measures series from Lynette Eason.

In this third installment of the gripping Extreme Measures Series, Special Agent Grace Billingsley, an FBI behavioral analyst is tracking a serial killer. Prison psychiatrist Sam Monroe joins the investigation because his own father is also a killer and the new wave of deaths bear some alarming similarities.

Their collaboration begins awkwardly as they’d met before, with Sam catching Grace’s interest, until he ghosted her. The two put their past aside as the bodies start to mount up, along with the mutual attraction.

I thoroughly enjoyed this fast-paced and unpredictable story from one of the romantic suspense greats. I liked Grace’s courage and determination to face down whatever evil is running amok. Sam was relatable as a stressed-out single dad, also focused on doing the best job he can before more lives are lost.

As the killer toys with them both, a crazy twist leads to an ending I didn’t anticipate, but enjoyed nonetheless. For fans of romantic suspense, this is definitely recommended.

I received a copy from the publisher via Netgalley. The opinions are my own.
