Theo, the former rockstar heart throb turned house husband. Cassandra, high-powered attorney who is more focused on career than family. What happens when Theo is arrested for killing his wife’s childhood friend who happened to be a nanny in the affluent neighborhood makes for a great read! Cassie is used to getting what she wants and defending her husband is another job she won’t let go without a win.

This was everything I want in a domestic thriller. A likable but flawed protagonist, believable premise, questionable decision-making, and so many unanswered questions that are resolved satisfyingly by the last page. I have not read anything by Ellery A Kane before but that will certainly change. Many thanks to Bookouture/Netgalley for the advanced copy of this novel which is sure to be a popular pick for many and one I definitely recommend.

on a twisty journey. The ending was not one I saw coming. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced free copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I received a copy from the publisher through NetGalley.

This story started with a mystery, one of life altering proportions. I was hooked! A dead woman is found in the dumpster at Cassie's husband's music studio--how could I not be.

I really liked Cassie. A strong, independent woman with her work at the forefront. A smart lawyer who just made partner at a prestigious big city firm. Except now she has decided (stupidly) to defend her husband in the courtroom for murder but she's not sure in her heart of hearts that he's innocent.

"How could I be jealous of a dead girl?"

I loathed Theo more and more. And I felt for Cassie more and more. The story unfolds through both of their POVs in different timelines. There always felt like something very big was missing, aside from past skeletons, present hangups, and the immediate drama.

The ending was delicious but I wish it hadn't been so slow going. There were some parts that crawled. The pacing needs a speed up but otherwise a darn good thriller.

'The Good Wife' is a thriller about a good wife, in fact, a wife who'd like to be perfect but often doubts her capabilities as a wife and mother.

When Cassie learns that her husband Theo has been accused of murdering a beautiful, young, local nanny, shock opens the floodgates of suspicion and distrust flows through; drowning their foundling marriage. After all, even though Cassie is at the top of her career as a corporate lawyer, she's married to an ex-rock god. But Cassie didn't make all those sacrifices, climbing the corporate career ladder, just to lose it now. She is a lawyer after all. And she is a 'Good Wife'.

Ellery Kane's novel is what thrillers are made up of: lies, secrets and haunted pasts. The 'Good Wife' slowly unpacks the lives of its two central characters in a dual timeline that jumps from present to past. The book also paces between their daily lives and courtroom drama. Although I believed the final reveal was a little light on believability, the 'Good Wife' is an enjoyable read overall.

This is a quick whodunit domestic thriller of Cassie, lawyer, and Theo Copeland, band member of Sluggers. Theo becomes a suspect of killing the new nanny and Cassie’s old friend, Elise Sterling. Theo denies ever having an affair with Elise and though she’s doubtful Cassie represents Theo as his attorney! It’s told in two POVs - Cassie in present day and Theo 6 months prior to the murder of Elise. Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for a copy.

A wife that will do anything for her husband…even when she is not quite sure he deserves her devotion. A good thriller that keeps you turning pages….just till the next chapter….and the next. Ellery Kane delivers again. Thank you Netgalley and Bookouture for this ARC. This review and my comments are my honest opinion.

“I couldn’t pinpoint when I stopped trusting my husband, only that once I had, it seemed impossible to start again.’” The Good Wife was a thrilling page turner that kept me up all night! The book has a similar plot to “A Perfect Marriage” by Jeneva Rose where the husband is arrested for the murder of a young woman and the attorney wife defends her husband in court. The weaving of the two characters, Elise and Theo, is done well with Theo telling the flashbacks and Elise responsible for the present. You never really know who is the villain or the hero of the story. Did he do it? Was he set up? I would recommend this book to other readers and if you did read/enjoy “A Perfect Marriage” you’ll love this one as well. Overall fabulous writing that draws you in. I look forward to reading more of Ellery A. Kanye’s books!

Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for sending this book for review considerations. All opinions are my own.

What a wild ride! This is a fun and quick read of a domestic thriller. I started this yesterday and just finished it today. This book has all the classic tropes of my favorite thrillers!

Cassie's life is forever changed when the cops pull up to her house one morning. They are there to investigate a murder at a building her husband, Theo, owns. Things begin to spiral and soon Theo is arrested and the main suspect of the murder of a local nanny. Cassie is a corporate layer and now finds herself in the role of a criminal defense lawyer. Can she prove her husband is innocent? Can she trust him?

What I enjoyed:
- the pacing is well done. Very quick read!
- Dual POVS and time lines. We have Cassie's POV in the present. We also get Theo's POV prior to the murders
- This was a twisty read. Even though I had a feeling of the whodunit...I was still intrigued!
- I enjoyed that it was totally a possible situation. I also liked the characters and couldn't put the book down!

Great thriller read! I will definitely check out the author's other books. This one really kept my interest and I ended up spending my day reading it. 4 stars out of 5! Thank you to Netgalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review!

This was a fast, cover to cover, one day read. I liked how it was written. Cassie was a damn good lawyer and she wasn’t about to watch her innocent husband go to jail. Each chapter identifies the date/point of time in relationship to the murder and the character from whose point of view it’s told.
Thank You to Bookouture, NetGalley and Ellery Kane for the opportunity to enjoy this ARC.

A very good, almost great, fast-paced mystery with alternating episodes presented as the truth gradually emerges. Character development is solid enough the you like or dislike certain people, which keeps the reader more involved.

The Good Wife by Ellery Kane
⭐⭐⭐⭐/5

Yet, another book written by @ellerykaneauthor that I've read and loved. And Im sure it won't be my last !

When the body of the neighborhood nanny turns up, all evidence points to Theo, a retired rockstar.
The nanny happens to be old friends with Theos wife Cassie .. who happens to also be a corporate attorney.

What happens when your attorney is also your wife, and secret affairs start surfacing for the world to see ? Will she let personal feelings get in the way ?

Who killed Elise ?

The story has dual point of view, and timelines . So you read as Theo, prior to the murder of Elise , and Cassie in the aftermath of the situation.

This book was a nice little mix of domestic drama and court room drama and I love the smash up .
Although I did figure out the ending it didn't take away from the over all intrigue of the book in its entirety.

Thank you @netgalley and @bookouture for another wonderful early copy .

This is similar to Gone Girl as it has an unreliable narrator and secrets are revealed gradually. I raced through it just to find out the truth, not being particularly interested in the characters. I guessed the culprit from about half way, which I don't usually. To me, this is a formula novel , competently written and it passes a few hours but there is little depth to it.

A clever psychological thriller
A very pacy read that I couldn't put down
Cassie and Theo are the main characters
Cassie the hot-shot lawyer
Theo the ex-rock star stay home dad
