I received an eARC in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

From the very first page, this book easily caught my attention. Am I really surprised though? Seriously, every time I read a book by this author I am always amazed how much I enjoy her writing. At this point, we would think I wouldn’t be surprised, but here we are. This book was intense, seductive, and everything I needed.

Greer, Ash and Emery are all interesting in their own right. Greer is so likable and I found her quite easy to identify with. She’s sweet, kind and the apple to her grandfather's eye. I love the close relationship that they have together. Ash, wow. He’s quite a force. Honestly, the way the author writes this character felt like no other character I’ve read before. His intensity and dominant force really swallowed me whole. I hope that we get to see and learn much more about him because I’m highly intrigued. Emery is somewhat of a mystery that we don’t know too much about. But I’m hopeful that the further we get into this series the more we will learn and understand him.

I have so many unanswered questions and I’m really excited to see where the rest of the series goes. There are literally endless possibilities. I can’t wait to read book two! Seriously though, that cliffhanger was not totally unexpected, but it definitely shocked me.

The American Queen by Sierra Simone is a three part story. Each book is told by the title character viewpoint. This is Greer's story.

Greer Galloway has known loss in her life. Yet she still believes in the fairytale. And for her, it may actually come true. But with all fairytales, there are challenges along the way before the HEA. A stolen moment, a kiss and unforgettable night that changes their lives. And a walk down the aisle.

My name is Greer Galloway, and I serve at the pleasure of the President of the United States.

Be ready for some kink and very spicy exchanges. There are also some undertones from Cinderella from a certain point. Jealousy can bring down the best.
Also, this ends on a cliffhanger... so you've been warned.

I’ve heard a lot about this book and overall I think it did live up to the hype. The romance was really fun to read and the plot kept things interesting outside the relationship. I did feel like the characters lacked a bit of personality, especially Embry. The way Greer and Ash’s relationship starts also made me kind of uncomfortable. Also felt like the relationships lacked some basis.

Still, I enjoyed the book and I would consider picking up the next one.

Classic book and so worthy of all the praise it's received. Highly recommend! This book is super steamy and first in a series.

Overall, this wasn’t really for me. The main character is in a relationship with the President, for one. I couldn’t stop thinking about how cheesy that is as a premise LOL. It’s mostly smut for smut’s sake. Not a really fleshed out story going on. It was okay.

Dark, a little unhinged, and filled with smutty mmf scenes throughout- Simone knows how to capture attention.

The character growth and blossoming of trust throughout the dom/sub relationship and polyamory truly shows what a fabulous match this trio is. With a great mix of spice, drama, and suspense, the story kicks off this series with your full attention. Be careful, this ends with a bang (literally and figuratively) and will leave you immediately scrambling for the next.

I had heard non stop good things about this book, so I was really excited to read it. It started off great and I was curious about it, but as I continued to read the more I found this book was not for me.

The writing was great, the sex was hot and the plot was interesting, but the characters were characters that I just hated. The guys egos were far too big for me. The whole I am the President of the United States and I need to have control thing was just icky for me. It surprised me, because I do not normally have a problem with that, but this time it just did not work for me. They just turned out to be people I did not want to read about or know more about.

The name Merlin was also a little rattling, I know that the name comes from the King Arthur/Camelot retelling, but that name should have stayed where it came from and had it pop up in a less then obvious way. He was also really annoying, telling a girl to save her kisses, like I would have been kissing everyone if someone told me that at that age. I could not stop picturing him as Merlin from the movie Sword in the Stone and once that long white beard, pointy hat, and gown were in my head it was not leaving. .

It may not have been my cup of tea, but I think that this is for sure someone else's hot tea.

The cover caught my eye. Reputation by Taylor Swift makes for the perfect soundtrack to this steamy, engaging book that chronicles the adventures of Greer, a powerful, aspirational fictional lady. She's a nepo-kid who makes a place for herself in a complicated triangle between her, Ash, and Embry. The character names were a little difficult for me to read, and the editing could've been crisper. It's a fascinating account of how life can pull you in unexpected directions if you make the wrong choices.

Wow!!! This book was great! This was my first book by Sierra Simone and I couldn’t put it down. Dark twists and turns, complex emotions, and very sexy! I can’t wait to start the next book in this series.

This was everything it promised to be and more. I am obsessed with the premise Sierra Simone has established in this first book of a trilogy and have yet to come across anything remotely like it out of all the romance novels that exist today! It’s original and beyond what you can imagine because I fear, too many authors were too scared to go “there.” Sierra Simone, fearless novelist she is, goes “there” and beyond and she drags the reader with her on a journey of self-discovery and acceptance and she does it flawlessly. I love the characters and the slowly unfurling peeks we get at them in this first installment and I love the slowly-developing plot (yes there is one, not as much in the forefront as my next point but it still exists!) and finally, I love the spice. You cannot review a Sierra Simone novel without acknowledging the spice and this one has floated across your BookTok and Bookstagram feeds with all those chili pepper emojis for good reason. If you’re a spicy romance lover, this needs to be on your TBR and even if you’re not, give this book a try to see how the other half lives- you know, the half that’s getting good d and your envious of it! No but seriously, I fell in love with Simone’s writing and her storytelling will only serpentine further into my heart with the rest of this series, I’m sure of it! Read this and join our “fanning myself” community once you’re done!

Sierra Simone can do no wrong in my eyes. She knows how to go give you a good plot driven story without sparing a bit of smut. There is so much smut that you'd think there was no time for anything else, but yet hse gives us great character development and flashbacks to help you understand everything. I don't know how she does it!

I’m so sad, I had American Queen on my TBR for years after hearing rave reviews and it simply did not work for me. This was my first Sierra Simone and I knew she wrote very spicy books, but I just didn’t care enough about the characters to read about their sex lives this much? I did like the political aspect, but not enough to continue the series. DNF at 60%

Overall I thought it was good pacing and I liked the political aspects. I went into this totally blind and I thought the start was a bit sketchy, too much of an age gap for me. This is personal taste nothing to do with Sierra! Just not quite for me.

i have... thoughts?!??

first of all -- the MC is UNDERAGE when this book starts/she falls for dude #1/has ~thoughts~ about him and KISSES HIM. UNDERAGE. i struggled to get past this/over this. just... why???

beyond that, it was DARK and had v v v strong dom/sub vibes and that is just not personally something i vibe with, so it was hard subject matter for me to get through! very spicy, very detailed, so if you're into that, you will LOVE.

the polyamory is abundant (mmf) and the plot got lost for me in the midst of all the hooking up, tbh.

also, there's a wizard? named merlin?

i loooooved the priest trilogy from sierra but this one just wasn't my jam!

*I received a Copy from NetGalley in exchange for a fair, unbiased review*

First of I love Sierra Simone, so the moment I saw I got this Arc of this book, OH BOY was I excited, and man did this book pull though, this was so steamy that I had to put it down a couple times just to "cool myself off" This has to be one of the most spicy books I have read in quite a while!! 100/10

Sierra Simone is truly an icon.

Even though they are very different, after being obsessed with the presidential romance/aspect of Scandal I think this book was needed for me. She got the President and the Vice President?! Yes Ma'am!!

At times during the beginning it was a bit confusing remember what time line I was in since it was going back and forth, but after that I felt fine. This is a total guily pleasure read. This book is a set up for the next, bringing everyone together so a few times I was wondering when the real drama would happen.

It was nice having the characters be like "yeah we all like each other so lets be together" and not someone having a Bi-crisis.

I will definitely be reading the next 2 books to see what happens with the story and characters. This was a hit for me.
4 stars.

The author just made this book so weird. I'd be reading it and thinking okay this is good, this is fine, and then there would be a line or a scene where I just go well she made it weird again. Like the whole sister thing seems pretty unnecessary. The names are also horrendous.

Wow just wow! This book blew me away in the best way possible. The connection between Ash, Embry and Greer. I did not see that coming! This book was so fast paced and definitely filled with spice. Originally I thought this was going to be a typical love triangle where Greer ends up with Ash but I was so wrong! And that cliffhanger at the end. I knew Abilene was up to no good. I can not wait to start reading American Prince for Embry's POV.
