Ciara Dunphy has it all, an expensive home in the small Irish village, an exclusive group of friends, devoted husband and perfect children. Adding to this she is a lifestyle influencer and as soon as a post hits it gets tons of instant likes.
The inner circle of friends each have their differences though, one is a woman from Calcutta in an arranged marriage raising her children in a country so different from hers. The other, the butt of jokes is the mother earth type, a monodisciplinary parent and gives advice in a mother's group chat that no one follows.
The women are not supportive of each other for the most part.
The writing is very well executed, I like this author's writing style. The plot is fast paced and will keep you on your toes.
As much as Ciara leads others to believe she's living the perfect life with her online followers in reality she's falling apart and won't be able to keep up the facade much longer before it disastrously all crumbles down upon her.
"A twisty, domestic suspense debut about a clique of mothers that shatters when one of their own is murdered, bringing chaos to their curated lives."
Fast paced twisted plot will keep your attention.

Hmmm? “All is not what it appears to be.” or “I want to kill her myself.” would not be surprising thoughts to have as you read through the timeline and various back stories of this novel. At the center is a neighborhood Queen Bee and her subject drones circling her attractive hive to their decided detriment. This is a quick read and one that was entirely entertaining from beginning to end. Thank you Ballantine Books and Netgalley for this early read.

Dirty Laundry follows village neighbors Lauren, Ciara and Mishti as they navigate their friendships, marriages, infidelities and ultimately, the death of one of them! As their village mom group is basking in the perfect life that social media influencer Ciara presents herself as having online, she secretly has another side of her that her thousands of followers don’t know. Lauren grew up in their village and has always been the “odd one out” and even her own husband calls her aloof. She struggles to get along with the other moms, especially Ciara. But Lauren tends to gravitate toward Mishti and tries to befriend her before Ciara and the other moms can convince her otherwise.

Who really committed the crime? 🧐🧐

Disha Bose did an AMAZING job writing this book and I truly enjoyed it! I cannot wait for you all to read it when it is released in April 2023!!

Thank you to NetGalley, Disha Bose and Random House Publishing for giving me the opportunity to read this and review it for my audience!

I don’t normally like a story where I can’t relate to or don’t like any of the characters unless it’s well written. This one fits the bill of a good read. Hard to see how women treat each other, gossip and try to portray unrealistic lives to fit their sad goals. So much pressure right now to be so perfect and turn your nose up at those who don’t fit in. Interesting ending choice! I liked it!

Intense domestic thriller. A twisty story about a small group of mothers living in a village in Ireland.

Ciara Dunphy is a well known social media star living what looks like a perfect life and perfect family. When you peel back a layer, however, Ciara has quite a few haters. After Ciara turns up dead, there are many, many suspects. Follow the flashbacks and POV's from multiple and unwind the story to find out what happend! This is a unique story due to its setting, I loved the slight cultural differences. If you like domestic thrillers, murder mysteries and anything Irish, Dirty Laundry is for you!

Dirty Laundry is a definite page turner! I love reading stories that involve social media as I think it can be so harmful and this book was a perfect example of that. While I didn't really have any strong attachments to any of the main characters in the novel, it was still a very compelling read. Will definitely keep my eyes out for more novels by Disha Bose!

“Dirty Laundry” is by Disha Bose. I’m not sure how I feel about this book. I’ve recently read a number of books about social media - from the soul sucking monster that it is to public shaming / social canceling that it contributes to. In this case, I felt that this book was a bit all over the place - the past of each woman was explored, then their present situation, then their unhappiness with their spouse and life. In other words, no one genuinely seemed happy. Then regarding the mystery, I felt it was a bit flat and, frankly, disappointing. In the end, I felt some sympathy for one character but I’m not sure, once the book ended, what she was going to do with her life moving forward. I think if you like reading “mean girls” in adult form this book may be of interest. I did feel that Ms. Bose’s description of Mishti’s life in India vs Ireland was interesting and thoughtful. 3.5 stars rounded up to 4.

This debut novel by Disha Bose kept me on the edge of my seat. Every time I thought i could predict the ending, the author threw in another curveball. I look forward to reading more of her work in the future. Thank you netgalley& the publisher for the ARC, in exchange for an honest review.

I’m still deciding how I feel about this book! It was incredibly well written and I really enjoyed the different points of views, but I really struggled to really feel for the majority of the characters.

Thank you to Netgalley for the opportunity to read this book for my honest review. Enjoyable mystery/thriller with an odd but interesting ending. This story proves social media is fake is so many aspects and a reminder to me why I avoid it as much as possible!! Enjoy 😊

This book was absolutely brilliant up until the very end. It ended so abruptly that I was thrown off. I expected some more of an ending, based on the build up part of the story. I was disappointed in that part, but everything else was superbly written. If the ending wasn’t so severe, the book would be absolutely unstoppable!

Boring. The main character, Ciara, was obnoxious and fake. I wasn’t able to relate or connect to any of the characters. The writing style was staid and uninteresting. The story was not suspenseful or a thriller. The ending was written as if the author ran out of words.

Dirty Laundry
A Novel
by Disha Bose

I saw this as love, lies, and social media all gone wrong. It seemed everyone was unhappy in their marriage, and sides were taken. I think it dragged on a bit too often, but overall it was good. I just wanted to speed things along, with all the extra children and dirty laundry which made t desperate.

Dirty Laundry by Disha Bose has it all.
The female rivals and drama, multicultural marriage, fabulous storyline, clandestine meetings and a dramatic ending.
This is a hard to put down book! I can’t wait to read more from Disha Bose!
It would not surprise me to see this book made into a tv drama series. It’s just that good.

Dirty Laundry is a page turner. No spoilers, but there is a lot of dirty laundry to air here! I was so interested and invested in all of the characters. The ending of the story is the only part that was a bit of a let down for me. It just felt a little unsatisfying. I was so into these characters, and I spent the whole book trying to "figure out the mystery". But overall, I did enjoy it, and I will definitely read whatever Bose writes next!

This book should be titled People Behaving Badly because all of them do! Revolving around three couples, Ciara and Gerry, Mishti and Parth, Lauren and Sean, the novel reveals the "friendships" they have or at least pretend to have even though all of us would be wise to avoid any of them! Ciara is a blogger who has amassed hundreds of followers so she feels the power. Mishta is an Indian woman who is Ciara's best friend but is easily taken advantage of. Lauren is a neighbor who is shunned even though she has children who are the same ages as the other two women's. And don't get me started on the husbands! Bose addresses many relevant issues: social media concerns, infidelity, obsessions, parenting styles, and of course friendships (fake or otherwise). Lots of dirty laundry aired here so be wary but enjoy!
Thanks to NetGalley for this ARC!

What a great debut novel! Disha Bose is a force to be reckoned with! This was totally capturing., fresh and innovative. I personally think the blurb gives too much away. Lots of great characters that kept me invested in the story.

Boy this was a fun read. Definitely an adult version of Mean Girls. Ciara and her clique rule the neighborhood and sets the rules just like the did in school. Lauren is their favorite one to pick on an ostracize. Lauren has grown up but Ciara has not. But adult bullying destroys families and lives. And in this case Ciara has to pay with hers. This book is the story about how all this come to a shattering end. A very entertaining read with a thriller twist.

Life is not as it seems in this quiet Irish village when a woman is found murdered. How could this happen to this young mother revered by her fans?

Ciara brings gossip and style to her many followers on Instagram. The clique wants to model themselves after this picture-perfect mom. She has a committed husband and two well-behaved children and is a successful influencer. Mishti, Ciara’s best friend and confidante, stands by her friend until exchanges on her site become heated. And the outcast, Lauren, challenges Ciara, discovering some ugly truths.

I enjoyed Disha Bose’s portrayal of three diverse women’s lives set in a small village in Ireland. Each has an interesting backstory and viewpoint. Bose’s revelation of Ciara and her shocking death makes Dirty Laundry an unforgettable story.
