This book was sent to me by Netgalley for review. Love and romance…family and friends…a child on the way…royalty and commitment… a love story that has a stubborn, strong protagonist…and a stubborn, strong man who wants to marry her for the child…this is a quick fun read…quirky characters…a setting that adds to the story…curl up in a cozy chair and enjoy…will the royal win out and save face for his country? Will the woman in love give in or refuse marriage? The setting adds to the story, and the images are vivid…a gifted author with details of the land.

I love a surprise pregnancy romance - add in a price and a monarchy and we are golden. I think had they given Clara a backbone the story could have been way more interesting.
I mean her very abusive relationship could have been handled way better instead of diving into her feelings and how she truly overcame that - they focused on her guilt and the results of her husband's death

Then to make it worst she fights very little when Alaric comes in a convinces her they need to get married. I mean I feel like they should be together but the story could have had such great banter and an interesting scene had there been even a little fight in Clara

Meanwhile, Alaric was a dick more times than not and when he truly messed up Clara just forgave him
A good basis for a love story with a few changes it could be a great
